Description of Work: The work was the result of an Angies List coupon for a new outdoor electrical connection. The entire process was smooth and the result was exactly as expected.

Description of Work: This was the second time I used Esco. The first time, a neighbor had an air conditioner problem, and Esco came to their house. Coincidentally, we had a similar problem, and asked the mechanic to also look at our problem. We were extremely dissatisfied with his work, but had to pay the very high bill, anyway, and then called another firm to handle it. The other mechanic quickly determined the cause and corrected it for only a service charge. We vowed to never use Esco for any further A/C work. | |For this offer, although the Esco firm was advertised after I got into the details, I assumed that the plumbing was a separate unit from the A/C, and took a chance. What a mistake! The ?plumber? who arrived, in addition to presenting a sloppy appearance, was apparently the least qualified journeyman I have ever encountered. His only interest was in trying to sell me unneeded work. He suggested that I needed to swap out the toilets in my home for new ones that used less water. He couldn't even properly identify the toilets, trying to impress me with his superior knowledge of plumbing. I did not tell him that I had been qualified as a master plumber in Florida in 1952 and had worked the trade and run my own shop for years; letting him continue to show how unqualified he actually is. I would not have advanced him out of the 'plumber's helper' category or sponsored him for a journeyman's exam had he been working for me. I did not ask him to show his card, but doubt that he would have passed the exam (at least in Florida... perhaps Utah does not have stringent requirements for a journeyman ticket) | |The ad stated: |"Here's the Deal: | | $39.00 for a five-point toilet tune-up and comprehensive home plumbing inspection | Five-point tune-up includes: inspecting and adjusting the fill valve, cleaning rim flush holes, replacing the worn flapper, adjusting the tank level operation, and a home plumbing inspection." | |The toilet he inspected is a Kohler Rochelle; he was unfamiliar with it and did not know how to adjust the fill valve properly. It does not use a flapper (it has an integrated fill valve [ballcock] and flush valve, so a flapper cannot be fitted); it must use a tank ball, which was not replaced. The mechanism uses water pressure from the fill valve to initiate the flush, as the tank does not have enough water to accomplish the full flush, otherwise. He gave up on it, telling me that the toilets should be replaced. He did not clean the rim holes, and only gave a partial inspection of the other parts of the house plumbing. | |I would never use ESCO for any work in my home at any time in the future, and strongly suggest that no one else should make that mistake, either. Description of Work: They cleaned my air ducts and did a great and thorough job and "went the extra mile" by sealing a couple of air leaks with spray foam insulation that I provided. Highly recommended.

Description of Work: I paid for a hot water tank flush. They came and stated it was shot at only 6 years old. I told them I just wanted it flushed and the temp seemed to fluctuate. Maybe the heating coil it had one go out a year after I bought it. Nope they insisted that it was a goner. I said well I turn it up the next notch and it is scalding. I just wanted it flushed like I paid for. They wanted to sell me a tankless for 6,000 with a water softener for 4,000 I said that I am one person and won't pay that much for tankless. Stupid to do so. Well then they said I needed a new hot water heater for 2,000. I said I just wanted it flushed like I paid for and for them to inspect the plumbing which 95 percent had already been replaced but wanted to make sure it wasn't leaking since that was part of the price. They wanted to sell me a maintenance agreement which was a good price. But I am wondering since they kept insisting my hot water heater was shot. They finally flushed it and I will continue to do that on occasion since it hadn't been for a few years. It still heats just fine. But I am still thinking it is the heating coil for it to fluctuate.

Description of Work: I cancelled this appointment, got my money back, and never rescheduled. The reason why was because the services could not be rendered in a timely manner. I would have had to wait for 4 weeks to have someone do the work I needed done. That was too long for me to wait in that situation.

Description of Work: "EB" arrived promptly and looked sharp. He put on shoe covers in the house which was nice. I showed him where the pipe was in the basement ceiling and where to turn the water off. I had mattresses and furniture in the way, but he said he would move it at no problem and put it back in place, which was nice. He did a frost free outdoor faucet. the frostfree faucet was $100 extra but EB accepted a $50 coupon that I had,so I only had to pay $50 extra. EB also suggested their price for an upgraded kitchen faucet in the future. He was very professional. I would use them again. I am very pleased.
