Cowboy Fencing

HORRIFIC! The job required removing a six foot tall section of gate and replacing it with a man gate and an 8ft pass through gate. His crew came out and set one post 10" deep into the hole. They poured powdered concrete around the post and watered it. I asked scott about this and he admitted to the watering. He refused to believe his crew set the post at 10". I have pictures to prove it. When the gate was done, it looked like ****. The facia boards were wrong, the hinges and post were installed so poorly that the gate would not open.He used old(used) lumber for parts of it. He didn't rip down slats to fit, rather he just nailed them on top. The work done on my gat was equivalent to being done by a hung over manpower or ready labor type place. It is absolutely awful. I told his crew this was completely unacceptable .When I emailed scott later that day, his response was he would come out and "fix the sag"(make the gate open and close) as long as I agreed to pay him in entirety when he was done. If I did not agree to that, he said he would not come back, he would file a lien on my house and see me in court. Remember this, this was after an email He has not even seen the fence. He would not even begin to consider or look at my other issues with the gate. I continued to try and contact him. He would not return my calls or emails until I told him I though I had a solution. He told me he would call - he didn't. Then he set an appointment for 8:00 the next morning, he then changed it to 9:00. Then his crew finally showed up at 9:20, but no scott. We needed to him to clear and okay the work, His guy called him, he was busy giving a bid and couldn't possibly be here for another hour to hour and a half. Remember this is after threatening to sue me. I got PO at this point and tld the guys they should leave since they couldn't do any work without scotts approval. I also told them to tell scott I was done with him. He had until Friday to get it right(that would have given him five days). He responded alter that day that he was done with me. That if I contacted him again I would be considered to be harassing him. Any more correspondences would have to go through his attorney( a bankruptcy attorney BTW0, and I would be billed for his time. I have been putting together my documents, pictures email etc. I will be filing in small claims court in the next few weeks. I am going to be asking for the court to nullify the contract, remove any and all liens he has or will file on my home, and for all money paid to him to be refunded. AVOID THIS PERSON AT ALL COSTS!!
