Where to begin... It all started in the spring of 2013 when I hired a different company to add an RV pad to my existing driveway. To get right to the point, they (Big Horn Contractors) poured part of it and the part they poured was uneven, had bird baths, and looked like the surface of the moon. It went downhill from there...they agreed to fix / finish the job and then never showed or returned my calls/texts. That began in April and was not resolved until September when I decided I would cut my losses and find someone new. That is when I met Tylor Meier from Utah Custom Concrete. He came exactly when he said he would. He, along with four other contractors I talked to, confirmed that the job done by the previous contractor was unacceptable. Tylor was very easy to work with, took time to explain his work/process and gave me great, affordable options of what to do. It was difficult to decide if we should leave the poor work from the other contractor, but in the end decided to pull it out. Once we gave Utah Custom Concrete the go ahead, they said they would be here at 7:00 am and they were. They were here at 7:00 each day and would stick around until the job was as far along as it needed to be. The scar left from the other contractor had plagued us for months and my wife was due to have a baby in September - I didn't want to bring my wife and a new baby home from the hospital to park out in the road. I asked Tylor if they could get the job done in the tight timeline that would allow us to park on our driveway when they came home from the hospital. In short, they put in some long days and made it happen. So what they did. Tylor and crew did a great job tearing out the existing concrete (three dump trucks full) and prepping the area for the new. They used rebar throughout the entire driveway and tied the different pours together with rebar. Their finish work was amazing! We asked them to bury the hardware for a basketball hoop as well, which they gladly did. Another nice touch was the saw-cut joints that they cut in so precisely. After all was said and done, they waited the appropriate amount of time and came back to pressure wash and seal the entire surface. I believe the total pour was 30 yards of concrete. And the slab is about 5 inches thick throughout. In summary, they did an outstanding job at every level: initial contact, follow-up, answering questions, demo, prep work, finish work, sealing...and a nice call back a few months later to see how we were enjoying it and if everything was okay. I would recommend these guys to do any concrete job. They were very precise in their measurements, cut lines, etc. Although I did not do any stamped, stained or colored work, I believe that is their specialty. I will be calling them in the spring to do additional concrete work around the yard.
