Mike fit us in to his busy schedule as we were in a time crunch with a wedding coming up. He was extremely competent, very efficient, reasonably priced, and did a beautiful job. He helped us out by removing the old carpet, tack strip, etc. and disposing of everything. He also installed quarter round in the bedrooms for us as we did not have time. I would hire him again in a heartbeat and recommend him highly.

I felt fortunate to find Mike. He was responsive and available to start immediately on the job. Once the floors were finished he stayed on to complete many other smaller jobs like painting some of the exterior, painting interior trim, installing a bath vanity, installing a new linoleum floor, reinforcing a failing fence, installing new light fixtures, and hanging a closet door. He also did the initial rip-out and haul away of the carpet for a reasonable cost. He was a huge help with the overall update. I also really appreciated his responsiveness. The floors turned out beautiful. I highly recommend him!

Good results on floors that are at the end of their useful life. Be sure to tape off your baseboards and moldings and prepare for some dust.

I purchased a 1924 custom sugar house home which had not received all the TLC an old charming house deserves and needed a lot of work done ASAP. I came across Michael from an online ad while I was looking for someone to refinish my vintage hardwood and install laminate flooring in my basement - he did both. I 100% recommend Michael. If you don't want to read this whole review, just take that. He did great work for the best price and was a pleasure to work with. My first impression of him was fantastic. Some other bids I had gotten on my hardwoods had been hardly optimistic saying they possibly couldn't be saved or they weren't sure how they'd come out. Michael was confident he could do it and also discussed details no one else had even addressed - i.e. what he would do with the existing nails to sink them but make sure the floors didn't creak, how he would patch pieces beyond salvage, how he would stain under the radiators, etc. His price was also one of the very best coming in below a lot of other bids. VERY reasonable. I had a gut feeling to hire him but my only hesitation was his lack of online presence. I couldn't find too many reviews and for someone claiming as much experience as he was it seemed strange to me. I called a few of his references he provided me and ultimately even tracked down who he used to work for and called that guy asking about him (stalker - I know - but I had one chance to save these floors. I couldn't risk it). The long story short is that he used to work for someone else who left the game and now he is on his own. Everyone was happy with him. Even his old boss said he was awesome. There just aren't a ton of reviews out there YET and man, I'm glad I didn't let it scare me away because this is just one of many raving ones I'm sure he will soon collect. His personality is just plain fantastic. He is very funny and pleasant and great at texting / emailing thoroughly and quickly. I was never confused on when he would show up, he was always on time, he worked hard and he was very very almost overly communicative about pricing and any adjustments that we came upon to make sure I wasn't surprised. He worked late hours on my job (I wasn't living in the house yet) to try to get it done as soon as possible and fit me in sooner rather than pushing me back until after his other jobs were finished. He was completely trustworthy with the key to my house and I never once felt uncomfortable with him being there alone. I had another transition piece needing to be installed at the end of my job post move-in and even after Michael had been paid in full he returned to do that for me as soon as I was ready. He handled my over-bearing interior designer self wonderfully and offered awesome advice without pushing against my design tastes at all. He handled mother in town breathing down his neck like a champ, then when she left laughed about it with me like a champ. Bottom line - my floors look great. Upstairs hardwoods are GORGEOUS. He was able to restore my ancient quarter-sawn oak to look absolutely stunning. He helped me choose a stain color and offered a lot of expertise into how it would change over time or look in different light settings. My friends have been so impressed with the floors ... I get TONS of compliments ... but even more note-worthy than my artsy friends would be this little story: About 2 weeks into living in the house I was having my cable installed and the tech was crawling around on the floor and actually asked me for the card of who had done these floors. I quote, "These are absolutely gorgeous. Look at the hand work and attention to detail. I crawl around on a lot of people's floors and whoever did these is one of the best." He asked me for a card for his own home and to refer others who ask him. My downstairs laminate also looks fantastic. It doesn't have any issues or defects what so ever. I appreciated his help in choosing a brand / thickness / etc. and they are holding up great. And all of this for the most reasonable price of all?! This guy is a find. If I ever need more flooring craftswork Michael will definitely be who I use again.

Mike was great. He made my 86-yearold hardwood floor look new. His price was fair, and he explained exactly how everything would be done and what materials he would use. I look forward to having him install new hardwood floors in other rooms in my home in the near future. I recommend Mike without reservation.

It went well was in and out quickly and answered every question I had also taught me a lot about flooring I didn't know before. I got charged very fairly $200 for the subfloor and $2.00 a square foot for the wood flooring
