The first installation was okay. No molding down the stairs or anywhere. I had to pay 200.00 for the molding I wanted in the front room. A year after the floor was installed we noticed that the floor planks were shrinking and coming up. Allen's Flooring sent out a Mohawk Representative to our home. He took our report, as well as pictures. The report that was subsequently made placed blame on the installers. Allen's Flooring angrily came to our home and RIPPED up the flooring. Pete and Jeramiah made rude comments to us while they RIPPED up the flooring. Then they sat in the middle of our front room floor and DRY SCRAPPED the planks they had just removed. This is a process that, on the installation video (available to EVERYONE) is NEVER TO BE DONE! Then they started reinstalling those same planks. The floor was like an amuse park ride for the feet. A Swifter Jet could not run smoothly over the floor because of all the ripples. On the second day, I went downstairs with our five year old son. When I came upstairs later that afternoon I looked at the flooring mess and told Jeramiah that the planks were not all going the same direction. He told me "it doesn't matter." I followed him outside and I told him "the floor doesn't even look as good as before." He replied, "we'll. it won't!" So we were left to deal with camping out in our home for over a month. We were given back $2,400.00. Plus the 6,000.00 additional cost to have Allen's Flooring mess cleaned up and a new floor put down. NEVER USE ALLEN'S FLOORING - they have a sorry reputation.
