The Whole Package Organizing logged 1545 organizing hours last year. As the premier professional organizing partnership in Utah, Mary and Sarah bring different talents and skills to the team. Sarah worked at The Container Store and has a vast knowledge of organizing products and systems. Mary has a background in management and the arts, and specializes in decluttering and simplifying. Both serve on the board of Utah Professional Organizers and teach a class on trends in organizing at the University of Utah's Lifelong Learning program. The team had a major overhaul on their hands when they arrived to our home. They had to unpack all our boxes and organize some very jumbled and disorganized boxes. They also had to find space in our very small kitchen. They did all of this with excellent professionalism, grace, skill and style. Our house is move in ready thanks to The Whole Package Organizing. Our kitchen, closets, pantry, cupboards, playroom and garage look amazing!! Thanks a million!

For years this room has bothered me, and so when I decided to hire Mary to help me go through the papers and mementos that were all over this catch all room, it was a huge help. When she came onto the job, I had started it, but it had been untouched for months because I had run out of energy. She came with a fresh set of eyes and helped me see logical places for the things. She organized the craft things and arranged them beautifully (by color) in my sewing room. She helped me separate each of my children's memory items and came up with a system to keep them filed and put away in the future. She used her label machine to make it so my family could use the system as well. She came twice, once to help me clean out the room and start going through things and second time after I had painted. She helped me put things away in a sensible, attractive way. I was so happy when it was all finished! Both areas were problem spots with me, but now I go into the guest room or the sewing nook, take a deep breath, and feel like at least one little space in my house has order!
Description of Work: Mary helped me take a basement bedroom being used for storage and crafts and turn it into a guest room with an organized closet.

I was impressed with Simply Mary's attitude and attentiveness during consultation and follow-up conversations. She was a careful listener and expertly explained what she could do. She sought our input on our personal level of involvement in the process: for most tasks I was content to let her do her job while I was gone at work; for some tasks my wife was somewhat involved; for others, Mary worked diligently on her own. She created piles of things for us to choose what to do with: keep, donate, or discard. She arranged things into rational groupings and, wherever possible, re-purposed existing materials (boxes, bags, containers, backpacks, etc.) for neat rational storage. She also bought containers and then returned materials that did not fit or proved superfluous. She labeled containers and made every effort to make things easy to find. When, on the rare occasion I disagreed with a change, she took no umbrage in my rearrangement and she acknowledged that a good solution was one that worked for us. Even if you might be on the fence about inviting someone into your home to rifle through your stuff, just remind yourself that Mary is a professional, who like a physician or hygienist, is used to seeing parts of us that we don't normally put on display. A fresh set of eyes, particularly from someone whose job it is to figure out how to deal with the accretion of stuff is invaluable. While I'm sure that we all periodically make an effort at spring cleaning, having a professional in the home really leads to dramatic improvement in a short time and offers a resolution to the sorts of problems that busy people tend to put off until they become unwieldy. Simply Mary is trustworthy, helpful, cheerful and, lest you think I am merely picking adjectives from Scout Law, I'll also add, professional and efficient. She did an excellent job. Highly recommended. Full disclosure: Mary is my sister. My wife and I decided to hire her to do this work, because we needed it done. Mary completed a formal consultation with us, wore her uniform while she worked, and kept rigorous records of her hours and expenses. We paid her according to her printed rate. I stand by the veracity of my review.
Description of Work: Mary thoroughly re-organized our large basement storage/laundry room and our kitchen. She also straightened and de-cluttered a walk-in closet in the basement master bedroom.

I was impressed with Mary's ability to assess our situation, listen to our desired outcomes, and arrive at a solution that worked for us. She gracefully accommodated differing levels of our involvement, as we desired, at times working on her own, at times with our assistance and input. She created piles of things to sort: keep, discard, or donate. She was skilled at re-purposing materials already available such as boxes, backpacks, or old containers, which she then labeled and placed rationally. She also purchased new containers to use and then returned materials that did not fit well or proved superfluous to the store. Throughout, she communicated effectively with us and did not take umbrage when, on the rare occasion, we disagreed with one of her solutions. She clearly wanted to help arrive at solutions that would work for us. She was professional and efficient in her work. For those of you who may be reluctant to invite someone into your home to rifle through your things, I can understand. I was a bit unsure about what I'd think of the process myself. But Simply Mary quickly put those fears to rest. She was trustworthy, courteous, helpful, cheerful, and lest you think I can only think of adjectives from the Scout Law, *professional* in her approach. Like a physician or hygienist, she's used to seeing parts of us that we normally choose not to display and she does an excellent job in making those places healthier and cleaner. Every time I step into the storage room in the basement, I'm delighted we paid for her services. Highly recommended. Full disclosure: Mary is my sister. My wife and I chose to hire her because we had a genuine need and we knew she would do good work. She gave us a formal consultation, wore her uniform while working, and billed us exactly for her hours and expenses. I liked that Mary wasn't judgemental. She didn't try to force me to throw things out, but was good at helping me determine if what I was keeping was really what I wanted. When I got overwhelmed mid- way through the project she continued to work and gave me a break...something I absolutely needed, For the most part we worked together...that way I knew where to find things. She evaluated what needed to be done and didn't encourage me to spend more than I could afford. So many times in the past when I have organized things ...they don't stay that way, but it's been almost a month and it looks as clean as when she left because the organizing she did makes sense...it really works. I can hardly wait 'til I can have her back to help me with another project. For those that worry that a stranger can't really help them organize their stuff...I had that worry too, but it really does work. And, it is so helpful to tackle a big project when you have help.

I was a little nervous about hiring a professional organizer. It takes humility to have someone come look at your messiest storage areas! Mary made me feel very comfortable right away. She is not judgmental. I thought I would have to be pretty involved with the process of going though stuff but she was able to get so much done with just consulting me occasionally. I am so glad these areas are organized now with better systems then I would have been able to do myself, and feel like I will be motivated to keep things in place. I highly recommend her. You will be glad you hired her!

Simply Mary helped me create much- needed order out of chaos in my office / craft / junk room, my kitchen pantry, and my linen closet. She was efficient, creative, and incredibly thorough, and when she was finished, I had to keep returning to look at these newly organized areas, just to smile! Her services helped me get a much-needed boost to feeling more in control of my house and my busy life. My pantry was chuck full of stuff I didn't need and a lot of stuff I didn't even know I had. She threw out all expired food and organized the remaining items so that even a disorganized single dad could find easily. My linen closet was pretty much the same. It was fabulous. I'd highly recommend Mary to simply anyone. Thanks again Mary you are amazing. I'll be calling again soon

The provider ( Mary) with Simply Mary Organizing came in to my house and when she left it was so clean and organized I almost didn't recognize my own house. -she cleaned the living room, kids room, kitchen and kitchen cupboards. -She organized bookshelves, pantry, linen closet, fridge. -She dusted, swept, cleaned and organized coffee table and end tables. -She is a single dad's dream come true. She was amazing.

It could not have gone smoother. Prior to her coming, we talked about what I wanted to do, and how she could best assist,(Work beside her, give her direction and then check in on her, or let her swing away and come back when it was done.) and had a game plan ready for when she started. Mary was on time. If Mary was unsure of what should be done about something of mine, she would ask, and honor my request. At the end of the 1st day, we discussed how to put the room back together and whether I had storage/organizer options available or if I wanted her to get them, so the room would be the way I wanted. The next day, the room was finished and it looked so much bigger and very inviting. I will definitely be using her again.
Description of Work: Mary reorganized my husband's home office. She organized all his papers that were about the office into categorized stacks, made his work areas neat and efficient, dusted, put paperwork that needed to be kept for tax purposes (but not needed on a regular basis) neatly into boxes, and arranged the room so that it could be used more efficiently. Mary also made suggestions about what could make the room work better for my husband's needs.
