Description of Work: Vendor came out to service my furnaces (two) to prep for upcoming cold season, and found a small part had to be replaced. Called in to Landmark for service report order and vendor return in a few days to replace broken parts.

Description of Work: We bought a home warranty when we purchased our home. So far we have been very happy with Landmark. Three appliances stopped working shortly after we moved in and their service providers were able to fix two, and they provided some money toward replacement of a third. A visit by a service provider costs $60. If the item is covered under the home warranty there is not additional cost to fix or replace it. | |When purchasing a home warranty, make sure you know exactly what is covered on various appliances. For example, in the basic plan only some parts of a dishwasher are covered (the mechanical and electrical parts), but not the baskets, wheels, or shelves. In the more deluxe plan, those items are covered. You will need to speak to a representative to find out exactly what those things are, though. They are not listed on the website.

Description of Work: My wall oven had a lot wrong with it. They contacted appliance repair company. They came out to check the oven within a few days. (It was a Jenn Air wall oven) The tech who checked the oven gave his report to the Landmark Home Warranty company. They could no longer get parts for this old model and Landmark sent me a check for almost $1200.00 dollars to replace it. I never expected that much for it. And I paid only $60.00 for the service call. We also had the fan stop working on our Jenn Air cooktop. The part that needed fixed was $80.00 by itself, plus the service call. I only ever have to pay $60.00 for any service call. Everything else is covered by the warranty. Needless to say, I renewed by contract for another year. We bought an older home with a lot of old appliances. Because I renewed early they discounted the warranty contract for $75.00.

Description of Work: Serviced ac unit that control board went out. They refused to source the part locally in middle of phoenix in one of the hottest months of the year. The part took over 10 days to arrive. The unit was out of service for 10 days.

Description of Work: I am a new subscriber to their service. The first thing I did about 35-40 days after becoming a member was to ask for the $60 A/C check-up that was in my contract dated April 24. The agent said they discontinued that on Mar. 31. I also placed an appliances service call that was handled satisfactorily for the $60 service call: cooktop was repaired, but the double oven was cashed-out which I only found out about because the appliance company told me. Landmark had not contacted me.

Description of Work: I used Landmark Home Warranty as my home warrantee company when I purchased my house. The warranty plan cost more than the basic plan because my house has a septic system, water well, pool, and hot tub. So I had to purchase extra coverage for these items also. We had an AC go out a month after we moved in and Landmark contacted the AC company very quickly. The AC company had to reschedule once (which was out of Landmark's hands), but they did great work when they arrived. I would definitely use Landmark again!

Description of Work: Landmark was OK. I was disappointed that they basically replaced my over range microwave with the cost of the "cheapest" microwave. They did cash out a check and we spent about twice that amount to get a good quality microwave. I may try another company just to have a little more experience in the home warranty business.

Description of Work: We used them on a handful of times. The first time was a nightmare, and it didn't really go up from there. Our water was out to the entire house. That is to say, we had no running water, making the house uninhabitable, since no bathrooms were even working (obviously). We called on Friday night and called the emergency line. The person first person we spoke with completely did not understand the situation and said they would have to contact the real office not the night time call service. Once this was underway, we "woke someone up." This is in quotes because the individual whom we spoke with was annoyed because we woke them up. | |I am not sure what the purpose of a 24hour emergency service is, if it is not 24hours. Obviously, we didn't want to be up during that time either, but that is why it is called an emergency. Finally, the report was submitted, and we we told we would be contacted first thing in the morning or by 8AM. That didn't happen. We weren't contacted by 9, 10, 11, 12, or 1. And at each hour, I would call back asking when we were going to be contact, and in each instance we were "assured" someone would call us back right away. Come to find out at 12:30, the night crew never submitted our report correctly, so we were never on the docket. | |At this point, we were frustrated and asked to speak with a manager. Apparently there are none who work on the weekends. It was getting to be later in the day, and if they were going to send someone out, that day, time was ticking away. Finally, after 75 mins of back and forth on the phone we were able to get a manager to authorize our own plumber to come out and do the work, while they paid for it under the normal terms of service. | |Another time, the AC went out. It took 5 days and three different repairs in Dallas July 110 degree heat to actually fix the problem. | |When we had a leak spring up in August, I didn't even bother calling, because it was going to be more trouble than it was worth. I just called our own plumber who was out at our house and had the item fixed in the amount of time it takes Landmark to process a report.
