Alpine Homes LLC is one of the most bizarre run companies I have ever worked with. There is no communication between their realtors, their office, production manager. It is very difficult to get a phone call through, email or even my realtor to get through to anyone. Their landscapers, MD Landscaping, dug holes, planted trees while I'm in the house without any notification via phone call or doorbell. They refused to ask me where I wanted the two trees required by West Jordan in the park strips, and they put a tree in the center of my small front yard and 5 bushes without asking me. The landscaper has the audacity to tell me that their are CCRs that require the trees and I tell them there are NO CCRs. The tree will grow up to 30 feet in diameter and will encroach on the eave of the house in the future. It is 10-15 feet from the house and the same from the outside sidewalk where there are two more trees. This close proximity will cause problems in the future. This is after I closed and owned the property. The crew doesn't speak english. I went out and tried to communicate and they refused to speak to me. I know that they know how to speak english. I'm sitting on my couch and I hear drilling in the back wall of my stucco exterior. They put the sprinkler timer right center of the exterior of the house where the patio is supposed to go! Not in the garage where most people expect it to be. I didn't get told anything of the location of this or any plan for the landscape. Today, I see workers walking past the window into my back yard, and they have a master key, unlock my sprinkler box, change my sprinkler settings without my permission, no phone call, no doorbell, nothing with my car sitting in the driveway. They have dug holes for the sprinklers, the sprinkler line, planted trees all without my permission to be on my property, without concern for my consent. They have trespassed and illegally stole my water by wanting to pass the landscape inspection by ignoring my requests to have the twe trees moved. Now they are telling me that I have to pay $75 dollars a tree to have the landscapers come in and move the two trees. They also have told me that I will have to go to West Jordan City and sign a bond for landscaping via an email. It is their problem. If they would just talk to me before all of the damage has been done, we wouldn't be having these problems. I have felt violated and bullied by Alpine's lack of professionalism during this whole building process. I asked for basics in the contract... ivory faceplates, ivory garage door, chose the colors for the gables etc. When they had me come for the walk through, the whole house had white faceplates, white garage door and the gables were painted reverse order than I requested. I had informed them vis email to Hillary Sorenson in their office who helps you write the contract, weeks before the walk through and nothing was changed. There was no blower for the gas fireplace, no switch for it. According to their mechanical plan, the thermostat for the furnace/AC was supposed to be on the north wall of the hallway, instead it is on the east wall where the light and heat from two south-facing bedrooms affect the true reading of temperature in the house. They refused to change it even though it is on their plan. They said that Alpine's production manager said that it was in the best place to get the least amount of light!! Really, right down the hall from two south facing bedrooms!! I have had this same problem in the house I just lived in for 9 years. I specifically looked at their mechanical plan to see where the thermostat was called out by the architect. They would not let me write it in the contract either. On the final walk through, the morning that I was to close, they said all of the items were completed. Eight of the items were still incomplete. The real estate agent, Robyn McClure of Keller Williams was appalled that I would question their integrity to not want to close with these items not done. We had not seen her for six months and now she shows up for the final walk through just to let us in the house and then tells me that she has an appointment to go to. A Buyer is not important when they are about to close on a house. We were left on our own with no recourse. She left. Unbelievable. The basement concrete floor is so unlevel and wavy that there is a hump in the basement under the stairwell so the upstairs newel post and floor has a hump as well. The basement cold storage door on the contract said that I was paying for a steel door. It is fiberglass and they said it cost about the same and would not change it. You have to choose your cabinets, flooring through Aspire Design center, a middleman so that they want you to spend more money on quality that is cheap. There is extra charges for EVERYTHING. I wanted vinyl in the kitchen and walkways. I had to pay extra!!! The vinyl was supposedly a step up upgrade. It is paper thin and has ripped twice already. I have been in one month! My realtor is a top selling realtor and said that he has never seen a company ever work like this. He would never use Apline Homes and would never like to deal with them again.
