Adam was punctual and quick, while paying attention to detail and delivering a quality double mailbox that my neighbor and I are very happy with.

Adam was very responsive. After contacting four or more masonry companies he is the only one to respond. He had a hole in his schedule and fixed our brick house exterior almost immediately. I am very satisfied with the work he did. He actually replaced bricks in a more innovative way then I though possible (to repair some damage from a 1970's remodel). He accidentally damaged an opposite interior wall during the work and would not accept payment until he fixed the minor damage. He is very responsive, high quality of work, and very affordable. I would highly recommend Adam and will use him for any brick/mortar issues I have in the future.
Description of Work: Have 108yr old house with moderate exterior brick damage. Asked Adam to replace 13+ damaged bricks, mortar multiple chipped bricks, and fill 70 or so holes (from previous aluminum siding anchors).

Mr. Crump is an outstanding professional. A portion of my brick wall had been knocked over, and I made matters worse when I tried to fix it myself. I ended up knocking even more of the wall over! Adam's work is excellent. He had to use the existing brick, because this type is no longer available. He cleaned all the brick up, getting the old mortar off using his masonry saw. The repair was a real puzzle, with big sections and small sections, and lots of individual bricks too. He put it all back together, and he added rebar into my post, which had not been done by the original brick mason. When I observed how much work and skill went into the job, I feel that his price was a very good value. I never could have gotten this result on my own.

Response from AAR Masonry LLC
The following message was sent to us through the Angie's List message system from this member in October of 2015: "need to add a block wall behind my house" No additional project details, contact information or phone number was included. It appears that we did overlook sending a response message through Angie's List to this member and we apologize. We would be more than happy to give this member a bid if they are still looking for a block wall.

We worked with Adam once previously, to get his opinion on a brick chimney. We needed to replace our mailbox, and asked him to build us a pillar. He was excellent about communicating with us to ensure we got what we wanted, and did a great job letting us know what to expect. The work was performed within 2 weeks of initial contact, and the project took 1 day to build. It is beautiful. We will be hiring Adam for any future masonry work we will need.

Excellent experience! Of all the people I found on Angie's list, Adams was probably the best. He is a great communicator, responsive, on time and is reasonable to work with and pleasant to be around. Quality of work is good and pricing is reasonable. He is really good.

It took him 3 days instead of the 1 day he initially quoted me but it was very hot so I understand he wanted to work when it was not as torturous up on my roof. He ended up not having the right materials or bricks to complete the job the way that he described to me, but at the end of the day the chimneys are capped off and no longer letting water seep in. Since I'm planning on selling the house, I'm overall satisfied but I would be hesitant to use his services for a larger project since he doesn't have any other employees at this time.

Response from AAR Masonry LLC
It is always disappointing to hear a review from an unsatisfied customer. We recognize that we cannot please everyone, but we do try our best. Unfortunately it seems that there must have been some lack of communication or clarity when we dealt with [member name remove]. We were under the impression that, at the completion of work and payment, she was satisfied with our work and there were not any issues. We were surprised to see this review from her. That is why we felt it important to follow up this review with a few important additional comments. 1. The customer was informed that all employees, aside from Adam, were coincidentally taking vacations at the same time. Because this was such a small job, Adam did not deem it necessary to wait for them to return. Therefore, rather than postpone the job for another week, he did complete the job on his own, and it did take longer than the originally quoted 1 day. This did not seem to be a problem at the time the customer was informed of it. 2. The original quote was based on the customer having enough brick on hand to complete the repair. When it was found that there was not enough, another brick was offered and accepted by the customer at no additional cost. And, at the time, the customer did not seem to have any problem with the brick offered. 3. As to the ability of our company to handle jobs larger than a repair of three chimneys, we must set it straight that we are very capable of handling jobs ranging from small repairs to large residential projects. We are the primary brick mason for one of the larger home builders in Utah, and pride ourselves on our quality and performance. If additional help is needed on a job, we hire accordingly and add that cost into our bid. If we are doing small repairs, such as this one, we do not hire an entire crew because that would not be cost effective for our business. Again, we are sorry that we did not meet the satisfaction of [member name remove]. We had a great business experience dealing with her. She paid us promptly and was very easy to work with.

I needed about a days work completed. I understand small jobs are not always what contractors are looking for so I was willing to be patient. Adam gave me an estimate and agreed to complete work in 2-6 weeks. Gave me run around for 10 weeks until I gave up. See timeline below. Came out to look over job for an estimate on 3/6/14. Gave estimate on 3/12/14 Agreed to complete work during next 2-6 weeks on 3/12/14 Didn't hear from him for 3 weeks so I contacted him and he said he was about caught up and would let me know when he could get it done. This was on 4/2/14 Contacted him again 27 days later and he said he would do job next week. This was 4/29/14 He contacted me on 5/9/14 and said he would get it done in next week or so. I contacted him on 5/17/14 and received no response.

We have previously tried to find someone to build a brick mailbox for us but have been unsuccessful finding anyone who wanted such a small job. In the last few days, we've found our current mailbox on its side. We knew that the temporary fix would not last so I got busy to find someone who could do the job. I found Adam's listing on Angie's list and reviewed the remarks made from those who submitted a review. We called Adam and he said he was doing a job in our area and would be interested in the job. Adam came to our home and we talked about the options, price, etc. We were pleased when he quoted his price and he also said that we could get our house number that could be attached to the brick. Adam called us and informed us that he could get the same brick our home has which was good news as our home was built about 18 years ago. Adam came to do the job and finished it in one day. He work was excellent. We couldn't be more pleased with our new mailbox. We would highly recommend Adam and his company. This was an excellent find for us, thanks for Angie's list for allowing us to find this provider.

My previous mailbox was destroyed a few days before halloween. I assume it was someone out for fun in the middle of the night because next morning I found pumpkins strewn in the road in front of my house and my mailbox crushed, broken, and nearly torn off its post. Two of my neighbors had been experiencing similar problems, so we decided to go in on a 3-slot mailbox. I called for 3 bids; AAR Masonry was the lowest, 33% lower than the highest bid, and 10% lower than the next highest. In the bid process the owner, Adam, thoroughly explained to me what he was planning to do. He took pictures of my house to ensure there was design compatibility since it would be right in front on my house. Neither of the other two bidders did that. I felt that Adam asked all the right questions, which made me feel that he was the right guy for the job. So I awarded the bid to Adam. Glad I did. The first problem we ran into was that the brick on my house was no longer available, the company had gone out of business. Adam spent considerable time trying to find the next best brick. I really appreciated his thoroughness. He selected several, then brought them to my house for me to choose. I'm not sure either of the other two bidders would have done that. Also, Adam's technical knowledge impressed me. He showed me that there is a front and a back to the brick, different sizes of brick, slight differences in patterns, and other details, that all make a difference and that should be taken into account when doing a professional masonry job. Adam completed the work in two days; one day for laying the foundation and footing, and a second day to do the rest. He was quick, punctual, thorough, and friendly. I would definitely select Adam again to do any masonry job.

Adam came out the very same day I called him and gave me an offer. The mailbox was completed the following week and it turned out great. I am very pleased with it. Adam was very professional and provided great suggestions. He was very careful at matching the brick to my 1975 house and could not have done better. I would definitely hire him on another job if the opportunity presents itself.

Adam was responsive and extremely knowledgeable. Of the 3 Angie's List providers we contacted, he was the only one we were 100% confident in. He was able to match old brick to finish out the window and was able to start / complete the work just a few days after he gave us the bid. Also, he was significantly less than the other bids. Adam also repaired another window for us and they both look fantastic! I would highly recommend AAR Masonry to anyone.

Adam is a super guy to deal with. He started with a quick look at the remains of the old mailbox and gave us a professional written bid He warned us the the company that made the old brick was out of business so getting an exact match would be impossible. Next he came back with the closest brick matches he could find to let us choose. On the day he came to do the work we (Adam and I) discovered that the bricks he brought were actually our second choice. He insisted on going back to brickyard to exchange them with no pressuring at all to use the ones he had. I would have insisted that he get the correct ones, but it's really nice that I didn't need to.....

Adam was the most responsive and had a very competitive bid. We actually handled most of our transaction via text and telephone, I met him in person when I came home at lunch to drop off his check. He was very pleasant and easy to work with throughout the entire process, he was great about answering questions and very forthright in his answers. I had questions about regrouting and sealing the wall. Adam could easily have taken alot of extra money from me and I would have been none the wiser (2 other bidders didnt seem to have a problem with this), but was honest and told me the extra work was just that, extra and not needed. I would not hesitate to recommend Adam to anyone, and plan on using him on a couple of projects this spring/summer.

Adam's work was extremely professional and it looks great. His pricing was very competitive as well. I would certainly use him again if I need brick work. The only negative is that the scheduled job date had to push twice because other things came up on Adam's side. I wasn't in a hurry to get it done, so it wasn't an issue to me. This may or may not be a problem if you had hard timelines and something threw his schedule off during your job. For me, I would recommend his price and quality of work outweighs a few days slip if you can build slack in your expectations of completion. Maybe this was even a one time thing so it's not a normal issue.Overall, I highly recommend him.

I'm impressed with the outcome. I talked to Adam in October while I was researching someone to do the work. He was patient with my questions and provided good information and a rough bid. In early Dec when I was ready for that phase, he did a site visit and submitted a very competitive estimate. He provided all the materials (flashing, brick, mortar, mortar coloring, fasteners, etc) and had the project done with a few days for the price he quoted.
Description of Work: Brick veneer for a garage addition, roughly 3' up from the foundation. Approximately 160 sq ft.
