Admittedly, although we have been extremely frustrated with every project this contractor has provided, we have continued to use Andre (the owner) because of convenience. We haven't used him since 2009, after moving into a new house, when he was hired for some home improvements, and issues with him were the same. There is no way I can get into all the problems we've experienced, but in a "nutshell," we feel Andre costs TOO much time and money. One example is with each project we asked for itemized invoices, but he ALWAYS had a reason why he was't able to provide one, i.e. the electrician may take more time, the painter may take less time, etc. He would hire people to do the work, understandably I guess, but never "did any dirty work" himself, even though the project was running behind and you are paying him TOO. Often, he would blame problems on the people he hired, and take up 30 minutes of my time to explain it. What prompted me to write this review, was a recent experience with the septic tank at our mountain home, that was clearly reflective of Andre oversight, and whoever he hired to complete the septic tank installation/landscaping. Basically, our septic tank system backed up causing human waste to flow into the basement of our house creating a huge mess and health hazard. We spent personal money, and time, to rent equipment to clean it up. We hired a septic tank company to pump out the tank, and were told the cost to pump the waste (not a problem) and the additional cost to FIND the septic tank if we didn't know where it was located. I looked over of Andre's house plans he provided us, and there wasn't anything about where the tank was located. We were told there should have been a marker to locate the system since it needs to be pumped periodically! Upon finding the tank, we learned the sewage line was CRUSHED by a large boulder dropped on top of the area while they were "backfilling" the dirt dug out from installing the septic tank. We now have to repair the pipe...more of our own time and money! I will say, the quality of Andre's work is often good, but in my opinion, doesn't make up for the frustrations.
