18-month old Toshiba laptop which worked fine except the fan was noisy and we got a fan error notice on the machine. Left computer on a Saturday evening for free diagnostic. Supposed to get a call on Monday, but no call. We called on Wednesay, they didn't know anything, said they'd call back. We noticed then that they had the wrong phone number for us on the service order. We called right back and left the correct number. Still no call back. We called several more times that week and went there in person on Saturday (one week later). In person, they told us that they needed to find a part and that the repair would be about 100.00 and that they would call. Nobody called. We called several more times, each time they told us the same thing - still looking for a part. On a Monday (two weeks and two days later) we get somebody at another location by accident, she takes a message and we finally get a call back, but they tell us the same thing. On Friday, nearly three weeks after we dropped it off, we call again and they say that now it needs more parts, now it will be $250.00 AND a new hard drive for $200.00 dollars more. At that point, we say never mind. We get to the store, it takes forever to pick up the computer. Nobody in the store knows anything, they promise to call. We check and they STILL have the wrong number for us in their computer. We give them the correct number but of course we know they will never call. Meanwhile, now the computer does not work at all. The "free" diagnostic cost us three weeks of time AND our computer. Yay. I do not know what racket these people are running but I surely would never take anything there again. Completely ridiculous experience. As a follow up, we ended up getting the computer repaired by a friend. He found the fanfor $30.00 and charged us $20.00 for the 10 minutes it took him to do the work. Ordering the part took about 4 days. Our friend also corrected the setting that had been altered by PC Laptops to make it look like our hard drive was bad. PC Laptops is a scam.

If you buy their computer they give you lifetime service. I'm kind of mad at them right now. I was so mad at them. Every computer I have in my house was from those guys. This last time they were jacking me around so I went out and bought another computer that wasn't related to them. I feel like they have a little bit of a scam going on but for those who don't know anything it's probably a good thing. I've used them for years and I still use them because I still have those other computers. I last brought in my PC laptop because my keyboard went out and they were going to charge me $80 to replace the keyboard which is fair because you have to buy your parts. Then I started goggling the keyboard I could buy it for $29 yet they wanted to charge me for $80. I told them I thought the service was free and they said that's how much they were going to charge me for the keyboard and I was not okay with that. They charge you $1000-$1500 for the computer and that's ok but to charge me that much for a keyboard that's not okay. They kind of got abrupt with me a little bit. Also, I found a computer that I wanted and it was $2000 and I said if you can build this for me the way it is I would give them $3000, then they said it would be $3200-$3400 with taxes. I went online and bought a new computer and they shopped it over night for $4.

As I stated above people should ster clear of this Company when having anything repaired or buying a computer. lookout. I have since bought another computer for what they wanted for a new motherboard
Description of Work: Bought a new laptop a little over 2 years ago, had problems immediatley shutting down on me. Had to restart and start over everytime. Took it back over a period of two years several times. They would lose the computer everytime, and it would take 3-4 weeks to get it back. They have a high turnover in employees, and almost everytime I would get a new tech. We were supposed to get a lifetime warranty, that is why I paid such a stupid price. I was told a number of times I should upgrade the system as technology was changing rapidly. I would spend 100.00 to 200.00 each time upgradig. Each time I would go in I would see customers like me venting on them like I have done. I always tried to be nice and not cause too big a problem. The last time I took it in, I asked if there was anyway I could get the computer back sooner than 3- weeks and the said I could pay a $79.00 rapid repair fee, which I agreed to do. Called them a week later and they said a tech named Eric was working on it, they would call me. Dropped in a few days later Eric had not come in yet, my computer was not at his work station and they could not find it. They would call me, they did not. Called them a few days later and Eric was suppose to be working on it, they said they would call. Called again, they said Eric had it and was replacing some parts. Went in a few days later they told me my mother board was no good out of warranty, and wanted to charge me 650.00 for new motherboard. They said the motherboard was not covered over 2- years on thier liftime warranty. I have been rippe off and hope this will keep people from being had like I was. I have since talked to other people who have dealt with them and they are just as unhappy as I am.
