 + -1 moreIt went very well and we were very satisfied with the inspection. Both men seemed very knowlegable and experienced, and very professional. They were friendly and more than happy to explain the things they were looking at (we followed them around during the inspection to learn about the houes). They were extremely thorough. Whenever they found a potential issue they explained the severity and their recommendations. They were able to schedule the appointment within a few days after I'd called, and within 24 hours of the inspection we had a detailed report as well as a summary report in our email inbox, with pictures. If I ever move again I will be calling them.
Description of Work: We hired them for the inspection of a home we were under contract with. The home was built in 1981, was 3 floors, roughly 4000 square feet. They sent two men to complete the inspection and it took around 3 hours.

Description of Work: Inspection specialists inspected a home for us and we are very satisfied with their work. They gave us a very accurate, very detailed inspection report and saved us money. Cody and Chris performed the inspection. They both know there job well and gave us good and useful information. We also received a detailed written report, in PDF format, the next day. Inspection specialists performed a full home inspection and also tested the house for Radon for about 415.00. They later inspected a two level home for mold for a reasonable price. We are very satisfied and highly recommend these guys. Thanks for a job well done.

 + -1 moreI found the home online from Alaska, and once I'd decided to go ahead, I wanted to be on location for the inspection. I called Inspection Specialists on a Friday and they set me up for the next Tuesday morning. The lady on the phone mentioned I'd be meeting with Chris, whom I had read good reviews about before, so i was pleased at the prospect. As far as the 'B' for punctuality, I'll concede that while he was a bit late, Ogden is a long way from Sandy and he was fighting rush-hour traffic on I-15, both of which will catch anyone by surprise. Once there, Chris did an amazing job. He quickly understood that I had quite a lot of experience in this area and wasn't afraid to talk shop as he worked. He was careful to explain that a majority of the time spent on an inspection was entering info into a computer, and the 'looking-at' was far quicker than that. He had all the tools he needed, and was extremely through, polite, and informative. When I scheduled the appointment, I was informed that I would receive the inspection report the day after the inspection, and true to their word, it was in my inbox on Wednesday! All told, I flew almost 6500 miles round trip to be present for this inspection, and it was completely what I hoped for.

 + -1 moreWe put an offer in on a house we really loved, and called Cody for an inspection based on his reviews on Angie's list. He saved us alot of money and heartache. Cody made was very detailed in his work and explinations. As he went through the house he would show us what he was seeing and answer any questions we had. He was very specific about what he could see and what he couldn't, and he gave us alot of helpful information about what our next steps should be if we to continue with the purchase of the house. I wish we would have had him inspect our current house, I will not hesitate to use him again in the future.

I called Inspection Specialists and scheduled an appointment. When I called to reschedule I gave them more information and the provided me with a number of options I would not have come up with on my own. Some of those options may end up saving me some money, but would not mean any financial gain to Inspection Specialists. I was very impressed with their integrity.
Description of Work: I was actually going to hire them for a second opinion on a mold inspection one of my tenants had performed. I called Inspection Specialists to discuss the findings of the first mold inspection and they gave me some valuable advice for free. I may still have them perform an inspection onthis property, but I wanted to make sure I let other Angie's list users know my opinion of this company.

 + -1 moreAs first time home buyers and we had no idea about home ownership, home maintenance and what problems can be potentially dangerous or expensive to fix. We chose Cody as our inspector based on the reviews on angie's list and we are extremely happy with our decision. Cody is very professional and thorough inspector, who spends good amount of his time inspecting major aspects like roof, exterior, foundation, water damage issues etc. We had cody inspect 3 houses so far and he was right on about some of the issues, which could've cost us potentially thousands of dollars in surprise repairs in future. Home buying is a steep learning curve and we are happy to have cody as our inspector in this learning process. He is very patient, listens to our concerns and gives an overall perspective about various aspects of home ownership/maintenance. Weeks after we moved into our new home, we had some questions and concerns. Cody promptly answered and returned our calls with reasonable responses. Finally, any and all issues are fixable, but there is only so much new home buyers can afford to fix. We highly recommend Cody and have recommended him to our friends. Jennifer is also prompt and helpful in scheduling appointments and thorough in explaining different kind of inspections.

 + -1 moreAs we are looking at buying our first house, we checked Angie's list for a good home inspection company. Inspection Specialist has had the highest rated reviews and we decided to hire them. Our inspector was Chris and he was a joy to work with. Right off the bat he said he was not the 'good news guy' and that actually put us at ease. We wanted to know ALL of the bad areas and what to expect. He let us tag along and was very quick to point out the problems he saw. As hard as it was to hear that there were termite, electrical, and window issues, (and many, many more) we were pleased that Chris was thorough and gave a very detailed report. I am glad to have hired Inspection Specialist and would recommend them to everyone.
Description of Work: Chris inspected our potential 'new' home (built in 1941) from the ground up and from the top down. He checked everything from the foundation to the roof. From the plumbing to the insulation. Etc, etc, etc

 + -1 moreFrom calling, to the inspection to getting the reports everyone involved was awesome everyone was excellent, Cody was late to the 1st appointment but I think that was due to a combination of longer thought 1st inspection and me not giving the correct address. but it was ok because he still did a great job and didn't seem to hurry on the inspection once he got to the house. Cody didn't seem to mind if I was there watching and asking questions or if I was off sitting down due to a bad back. Anytime I would check in he explained things he had found and he really took his time. His reports came the next day just as he had said they would inspection specialists LLC are as good a inspection company as I could ask for, and nobody can say I know them I am from Minnesota and picked them from Angies List
Description of Work: Cody inspected 2 houses for my wife and I. I found Cody very professional from what I can tell he did a very excellent job and found things I never would have caught. After Cody did the 1st inspection he said fundamently the house was ok but needed things addressed but due to his inspection and the home owner refusing to fix a few of the major items that the VA would require to be fixed we had to walk away. On the 2nd house I debated if we really needed a inspection the house looked SOOOO good. Heck I thought the roof was new but to my surprise he found cracked and missing shingles and a few other things that need to be addressed. If the home owner fixes things found by Cody I believe we can proceed if not I will be on the fence if to buy. Did he miss anything, that I won't know for sometime but I don't forsee that happening. To me he checked everything I would expect I am a big fan of Holmes on homes and I believe compared to that he stepped up to the job. The !st house cost $330 and the 2nd $340 and worth every penny. I am from Minnesota and knew of nobody here and the realator said they no longer reccommend inspection people due to being linked to the inspector and I agree I went with a realator recommended inspector in Minnesota and the inspector missed alot, on purpose I will never know but I will never go with a realator suggested inspector again. But like I said I found Cody on Angies list by looking at reviews and I am very happy with Cody's inspection to this point and cant for see problems in the future.

He explained things to me about the house that would have taken me lots of time on my own to figure out after we move in. No question was a dumb one and the price was right on par or less than the other 4 quotes I received. I would definitely use Inspection Specialists again and would recommend them to anyone who wants to make sure they are getting every detail big and small before making a home purchase.

 + -1 moreExtremely thorough and well done. I have bought/sold 5 homes and this was among the best home inspector experiences I have had. Cody was very detailed in his assessment and left no stone unturned in his inspection. Pricier than I have paid in the past for a home inspection but I'm guessing it is market driven and that is what the current market will support. The report provided was very comprehensive and had good photo representation of the areas inspected and any issues that were identified. They were also very prompt and accommodating to my timetable. I would highly recommend these services.

 + -1 moreChris spent about 2.5 hours at the house, then invited me to come and he physically walked me through the house, and explained certain areas that were either surprisingly good or of concern for him.
Description of Work: Chris conducted a Home inspection on a house I want to buy. He crawled in all the nooks and crannies of the place, took pictures and gave me a detailed report. I will definitely use them again if needed, and would recommend them to anyone. Very thorough and knowledgeable.

 + -1 moreCody is great. He was punctual and was extremely thorough with his inspection. He delivered an expert inspection and gave me quite an education on things I would have never noticed. We WILL use the INSPECTION SPECIALISTS again.
Description of Work: Cody Davis took 3 hours to deliver an extremely thorough inspection of a house that we had under contract. I was able to be at the house with him during the inspection and he is clearly a master in his field, knowing and understanding all aspects of homes and their construction. He was extremely kind to show and explain any areas that were of concern. Within a day I received an email with the unbelievably detailed inspection, including pictures and diagrams. I also paid extra to receive a hard copy which arrived within 4 days of the inspection.

 + -1 moreAll went very well, and Cody is a master in his field. I'm a very particular consumer, and I had prepared a full page check-list for the inspection. His standard inspection covered everything on my list, plus a lot more. He's a no-nonsense, down to business guy. He checked everything and gave me a lot of free advice during the process. Some things are beyond the scope of the inspection, but he would advise I ask the sellers about particular issues (example: he could tell the ceiling had been repaired near the fireplace, so I should find out why--a leak? relocation of a light? accidental damage?) His hard-copy report was ready within a day and included photos along with his notes.

I greatly appreciated his willingness to point things out to me and to explain how things worked, such as the valves for the sprinkler system. I was particularly impressed with the time he spent wiggling around on his belly back in the dirt-surfaced crawl space, looking at things and taking photos, and his agile moving around on the 2-story roof as he inspected the chimneys and roof and took photos. His report was extensive and thorough. It included several pages of photos.
