It didn't go

After considering replacing our fence for over a year, and after receiving multiple bids, we decided to work with Jess from All-Ways Fencing. We are extremely pleased with the results, and have already had several of our neighbors ask us about working with him based on what they've seen at our home. The main reasons we enjoyed working with All-Ways were Jess' responsiveness, the quality of craftsmanship, and the way that the team went the extra mile to deliver an excellent result. Responsiveness: About a month went by between when Jess gave us an estimate, and when we gave him the green light to begin the project. During this time we had several questions, and he always returned our calls promptly, even though we had not committed to working with him. Other firms took 1 week or more to get an estimate to us after coming to look at our fence. Jess promised an estimate emailed to us in 48 hours, and delivered on that commitment. Quality: My husband originally wanted replace the fence himself, because he thought he could do it himself less expensively than if we hired someone. However, once he saw the materials the team used, and priced it out, he found that hiring All-Ways was vastly preferable to spending all his summer free time doing the job himself a bit at a time. The team used cedar boards that are of obviously higher quality than what is available at local big box hardware stores. We were also pleased that they used stainless steel screws. They used more Quickcrete per post than we would have had we done the fence ourselves. These new posts are not going to move! Also, when installing the side fences where the side gates go, the team made sure not to attach the fence to our house. The fence is anchored off of posts next to the house, not bolted to the house itself. Extras: Just before the start of the project, we inquired about changing the scope of the project to increase the width of some of the gates, and to include setting some posts for a retaining wall that we wanted to complete ourselves. Jess was able to deliver the new estimate very quickly, and to incorporate setting the retaining wall posts into the project without significantly changing the length of the project. Team member Miguel also had went above and beyond by relocating and packing down dirt that had to be removed from behind the new fence, into what would become the planter area behind our new retaining wall. As far as I am concerned this was landscaping work, not fencing, and went well beyond what I expected. Also, our project affected multiple parents and dog owners. Jess and his team set up temporary fencing to keep everyone safe and secure. The team kept the job site clean and safe, and tidied things up before they left each day. My favorite aspect of working with All-Ways was that they kept to the promised time frame. As we began to consider replacing our fence, we started to pay attention to other fencing jobs in our area. Numerous times it appeared that old fences came down, posts went in, and the job site sat idle for a week or more. Given the children and dogs involved in our project, this would not have worked for us. Jess committed to staying on only our job from start to finish, and that is exactly what they did. Our old fence came down on Monday morning, and by Friday afternoon, we were enjoying our new fence and the new retaining wall posts. They installed the posts in sections, so that as the first posts were finished curing, they could start installing pickets on them as the more recently set posts cured. An excellent experience from start to finish.

Here it is Wednesday and we have not received a call to offer any explanation as to why we have not heard from him. If you can't make it out at the time you said you need to call and let the customer know why and reschedule. I will not reschedule when I am not at fault.

The provider took my call and said that they would come out the next day to give an estimate. They would call about 1/2 hour before they came. I made sure that I was home all day to wait for the call because they could not give me a time. No one showed up or called. I have not heard from them at all.

Jess was great to work with and a super nice guy. He was very responsive and communicated clearly and often. Jess generally answered the phone on the second ring, and if I had to leave a voice mail message, he returned my calls immediately. Jess showed up when he said he would to give me an estimate, and he and his team were very responsive and punctual. They showed up when they said they would, which is surprisingly rare. As for the quality of the work, it is outstanding. Moreover, they cleaned up after themselves and didn't leave any trash or construction debris. I will absolutely use All-Ways Fencing again, and will recommend them highly to friends and family.

They were really good. They showed up when they said they would show up. They were really nice when they were here. They gave me a good quote, but I found somebody that I knew, and I used them.

Did a great job. They were responsive to my need for speedy construction. The workmanship was above par. I would definitely use them again.

They were prompt and finished the work in a timely manner.

The work was well done and professional. The best compliment I can give is they did what they said they would do. They did a great job and I would use them again.

Based on the positive reviews, I called Jess at All-Ways to have him come to my home for an estimate. He said he could come by mid-morning the next day to give a bid and he was going to call for directions before coming. He was a no-show, and it's been 5 days now without a call or attempt to reschedule. I would understand if he ran into a conflict that day, but the fact that he failed to call and let me know, and also hasn't called for several days after the appointment, led me to leave a negative review. Since no work was performed, I will not comment on work quality.

We were very satisfied with the experience. He was busy and took a few days to come by and look at the job. However, that visit was within the timeframe he had given me and the bid was competitive. The work was done well and efficiently. We did have a small blemish that I was not pleased with. I was hesitant to mention it because I thought it would require the replacement of a large piece. When I did show it to Jess, he fixed it himself in a was that was very satisfactory while not needing replace the part.

I called the company to get a bid on fence repair (someone put their car through my back fence). Jess called me back the next morning to set up a time to meet. I was unable to meet, but had several pictures of the damage which he asked me to email to him. The next morning after that, he emailed back to me and apologized that he wouldn't be able to take on my project because another project had just come through for him which he had bid a month earlier, and it was a large job with a tight schedule on it. He gave me his opinion on the work that needed to be done as well. I appreciated his professionalism and quick response time. If I haven't found someone else to fix my fence soon, I may contact him again to see if his big project is finished yet so he can give me a bid and work on my fence.

Perfect! Not a hitch nor problem. I'd recommend this company to anyone. They were on time, worked without taking undue breaks and completed the job in record time. Super impressed. Cleaned up after themselves and were total gentlemen. I can't say enough good about these guys. THANKS!!

I had gotten two bid from two other fencing companies. I decided to go with Western Fencing, called and left a message for the salesman. Nearly a week passed before I heard back. Said he'd gotten my message but no comment why the delay. During the delay I decided to try Angie's list for the first time. I got a list of new names and read reviews about Western Fencing. I decided after reading the those reviews, I wasn't thrilled about Western Fence. Called the other Fencing companies on my new list and found that most would not do wood gates. One of the places I called actually recommended Jess as a company that could help. I called Jess and he said he could do the work. He came over the next day quoted the job. His price was in between the two bids I'd gotten and I was impressed with how quickly he was going to get on this job. He and his crew came over the next day and started setting the posts and building the wood gate. He ordered the chain link gate and a week later he installed that to complete the job. Jess and the two man crew he uses, were hard workers. They were friendly, polite and would stop to visit when I came out to visit. Otherwise they were here to to work. His work is top quality throughout. His own expectations of quality work is the highest level and that means even if a client is a novice as to how a fence should be built, they will get a professional job done without looking over his shoulder. The only thing I would have enjoyed more was to have my grandsons there to see that you can still shake hands on a deal and get a job done without excuses.

From the beginning it was easy to work with Jess - he responded to our request for a quote very quickly and communication remained fast and clear. He had good ideas for our project and worked with us to ensure we were all on the same page. We did have one miscommunication about style for the fence, but Jess corrected the problem (which involved removing some of his work and then replacing) and came an extra day to resolve the problem. Overall, a great experience, and we love our fence.

GREAT WORK. Jess had done a really terrific job building our fence and installing gates. But a year or so of settling had left two gates not latching quite right. When we called to let him know, he was very responsive. Absolutely no attempt to avoid doing the work, or to charge us for it (I assigned a dollar value to this review estimating what it would have cost; he did this maintenance/adjustment for free.) Even though it was the peak of construction season, he got here faster than we needed, did a fantastic job, and was so easy to work with. WIth a lot of contractors, it's tough getting them back to finish the little things, much less to do adjustments or warranty work. Definitely not a problem with Jess. No project goes along with zero complications. To me, the key is finding people whose judgment and reliabilty you trust. That way, when issues come up, they get handled. That's one thing we really appreciate about Jess. He is a very, very solid guy.

Nicest contractor I have dealt with in Utah. Quote was not the lowest, not the highest. Top quality fence. Quoted 2-3 weeks out and was actually 2-3 weeks out!! (wow) Start to finish job was 4 days. That included tear down of old fence and 2 days for the post cement to set. Thrilled with the job!!!

Jess installed new posts and braces and then used recycled cedar boards from my neighbor's old fence. The fence looks awesome, very rustic, which goes well with the rest of my yard, which is xeroscaped. He even arranged to have the unused wood from my neighbor's fence picked up. Jess is a true craftsman and a pleasure to work with.

This company is a complete A+. Even though we called in the busy season, the owner came quickly to do the estimate. In providing that estimate, he didn't take any more of OUR time than other vendors...but he was still remarkably thorough. He made sure he understood the challenges of the property and the neighborhood, and alerted us to potential problems. He also suggested a couple of things that made the value of the project much greater. He started the job earlier than he had predicted, and was very hard-working. You could see him double checking his own work, so the fence is not only sturdy but straight; the posts on a long sloping run go up in height in perfect rhythm. He was also very attentive to schedule; when the job turned out to be a bit harder than he had thought, there was no discussion of extra money, and brought on extra help to keep things on schedule. He welcomed our questions, was considerate of our neighbors, and took great care not to damage our plantings and deck. I wish every contractor we used was even close to this careful and professional. Best of all, the fence is genuinely great looking. It's attractive, high quality, and complements our 100 year old house.

I had four different fence companies come out for estimates, All- Ways Fencing was the only one who told me about his company. He told me and showed me the materials he would use. Provided very quick service. Part of my old fence had been attached to my neighbors- he was the only one that was willing to work in such a manner that our neighbors fence was not disturbed or damaged. He was concerned about making sure my dogs had a place to run around so he set up a temporary fence. Cost of fence was comparable to the other estimates I received. The other thing that I liked was he said he took the old fencing to someone who used it to make birdhouses out of. Very pleased with the quality of our fence. Would definitely use again.

They were quick to respond to our request for an estimate. We thought it was a fair price. Also the sales representative gave us an option whether we wanted to repair it or replace it. That was nice because of budget concerns. Overall they were good and I feel very comfortable using them again.

The owner/builder arrived on time for bidding appointment and on all work days. He worked quickly and independently and finished as he had planned. Collapsing fence was carefully removed. All-Ways Fencing, Inc. arranged to have old wood picked up for recycling. A short time after it came down the old wood was gone and not wasted. The owner/builder carefully worked around existing plantings in yards on both sides of the fence and trimmed only what was necessary. We particularly appreciated his suggestion to erect a temporary fence to protect our dog. He supplied heavy wire fencing and staked it into the ground for security. The fence was finished on time and is attractive and very sturdy. The materials and labor have a 1 year warranty. We are impressed with the work ethic and professional skill of All-Ways Fencing, Inc. and are pleased to recommend the company. It was a pleasure to have them build our fence.

They made sure they cleaned up when the left at the end of the day. I did not have any problem with them. They were very nice and professional in what they did. They will take back the stuff that I did not need. The person was on time. He was very professional and customer oriented. He stuck with the price he quoted me, and I will be getting some money back by giving back the stuff that they did not use. They did a very good job. I had them come back as my neighbor did not like the fence that they put and I had them replace that.
