I did not choose this provider. Reason for the review is to show price information. This provider has a number of good reviews here, which is why I asked for a bid. However, the difference between his bid and the other 3 bids I received was sufficiently stunning that I thought it worthwhile to submit the review. The numbers here EXclude separate cost for tear out of a small existing fence. First, the bid was not made at the time of visit. I got it a couple days later as an email. For a very simple fence install with no gate and no substantial site difficulties his bid price was almost double the other three at $37/ft vs $20/ft for the others. The fence I did have installed at slightly under $20/ft is attractive, sturdy, and of excellent quality. I really can't imagine how much better a vinyl fence could be for an extra $17/ft. It's possible a bit of the price differential was because of travel (Layton to Draper), but that should account for relatively little of the difference.

I wasn't able to use the Big Deal because there is a large tree in the way of where the fence would need to go, but the company was wonderful. They answered the phone promptly when I called. They were very polite and responsive.

The first was a black-coated, chain-link fence, needed to complete dog fencing. The second was cedar with lattice along a property line, needed for safety as well as privacy. The third was a composite privacy fence, with steel posts, to blend with an existing style of fence on other side of yard. Each of the three fence projects presented building challenges which Jess & his crew met admirably. I'm very happy with their work and the finished products. Jess was a pleasure to work with, as he cared to satisfy my preferences on details of the fences. Very professional. Charla S.

I called this provider on a Thursday, left a voice mail and did not get called back. I called again the next day and explained I had a wood fence in need of repair and would like an estimate. Jess said he would call about a half hour ahead of time the next time he was in our area. I thought it was very odd that he wouldn't schedule an appointment or at least give an indication of what day he might be in our part of town. As of mid-day on Monday, I still have not heard from him. Since I had virutally the same experience with the top three fencing providers on Angie's List, I'm starting to think I won't get anyone's attention unless I'm installing a brand new fence, so I've decided to hire a handyman insted. I guarantee when I do replace my fence someday, I will not be contacting this provider.

Jess and his crew worked really h****** difficult, hilly terrain for a full week to get the fence done. They had to carry all of the materials, including 80-pound bags of concrete and piles and piles of wood, up a couple of steep hills to get to the location of the project behind our house. Jess used thicker wood, stainless steel screws, and three horizontal braces across the back of the fence. Then, we had him add a final clear sealer. The finished product is excellent.

Jesse was scheduled to come to my house between 1-4. He was going to call when he was 30 minutes out. Never heard from him so called him...he was in bountiful and would be at least 2 more hours...not that big of a deal, but how about a phone call? Finally came out and sent us a bid. I asked if he offered a paid in full, cash discount. He wrote me back and stated that he would not be able to complete our project, with no explanation. When he was here, he told my husband that he was really busy, so he is either A. Too busy to take new customers B. Upset that I asked about a discount....but when you are comparing 3-4 fence companies, of course you're going to price shop Either way, he didn't want our business. What a bummer....very disappointed that a business who is too busy for new jobs, is advertising on angle's list.

I obtained bids from four companies, all of whom were fairly similar in price, roughly in the $3000 range. One company just gave me a verbal bid over the phone (one of the biggest companies), and two of the others sent out estimators/bid providers. One of the things that I like right away about All-Ways Fencing was that the owner/contractor, Jess, came out to provide the bid himself. This was in late March. Another thing I liked was that he would be at the job site with his crew, working side by side. His bid was very competitive with the others, and I got a 5% discount for being an Angie's list member. This really made the bid competitive. I gave him the OK, and was put on the schedule for about 2 1/2 weeks out, which was fine by me. Jess called about 10 days later and asked if he could come earlier (the next day)and start. This worked out great for me, and the job got done even earlier than I was anticipating. Jess and his crew showed up bright and early, 7:30 am, and got right to work. The bid included taking out the old fence and hauling it away, which was done. They were able to install new posts/cement, as well as rails and slats all in one day. Even Jess admits this does get to happen very often, but it was great to have it all done in one longish day. The materials used look great, and the workmanship looks great, matching the existing style and look of the fence on the other side of the yard. The pickets used were 7/8 of an inch, nice and thick, versus the other bids which all used 5/8 of an inch. There was a tricky little part involving a sloping back yard and a rock wall, which was handled in excellent fashion. Jess and his crew were professional in their work and behavior, and I'm sure his presence on the job site has an influence on this. Overall, I am very happy with this experience, and would have no problems recommending this company to others. Did what they said they were going to do, when they said they were going to do it (a few days earlier actually), did it well, and for the agreed upon price. What's not to like!

We have never had a contractor who performed better than All-Ways Fencing. The crew possesses a level of master workmanship that we rarely see these days. The fence is built with a top, center and bottom rail, the materials are high quality, and assembled with screws, not staples. The gates are extremely sturdy and the hardware is high quality. The crew kept the area clean during construction and left the yard in perfect condition when they were done.

We were very pleased with everything. Due to our own scheduling concerns, it was a while before we contacted Jess to go ahead. There was no dickering that prices had changed or anything - all was straightforward and just as the quote had described. Our neighbor had wondered if we could save money removing the old existing fence ourselves but when I contacted Jess about that, he had included that in the work for no charge - which for us with our busy schedules was huge! Jess and his crew came just when they said they would, actually a little earlier in the day than that, and worked very well. The entire job was done in two days and is gorgeous. Very solid, good materials. All of it was exactly as had been discussed. They didn't cause a big mess and cleared up everything. Two extra things really impressed me. There was an old concrete mow strip under the old fence. Jess showed me how it would cause the new fence to be uneven as it had settled over time. They broke out and hauled away all that old concrete, no extra charge, and it did give us a very even and pleasing fence line. The other thing that was great was the new gate. Jess made the new one a little wider - his idea - and the new latch and hinges are very, very aesthetically pleasing. We LOVE the way the whole project turned out. Our neighbors are just as pleased. We will definitely go with All-Ways Fencing on any future projects and recommend them!

I received a proposal within a week! He gave me a discount for finding him on Angie's list. It was a small one day job and he told me that they would work me in when they had an opportunity. I was fine with that. I received the proposal on 4/12 and they completed the work on 4/28! They did a great job! I am very pleased that they were able to work me in so quickly!

This was a samll but labor intensive job of installing three cedar posts in a section of decorative concrete block fence that was in poor repair. The block fence had been removed and Jess and his brother had to break out the concrete footing in order to install the posts. They did a masterful, neat, professional job as well as cleaned up the dirt and concrete that was removed from the post holes. I was only interested in having the posts placed so that I could complete the fence install. Jess charged me the minimum for the work which I thought was very fair. Also, Jess was the only person to return my call after contacting two other similar business' for a bid. I will definately use All Ways Fencing again if I have any other fencing projects in the future.

They were here and built it in a day. We live at the mouth of a canyon, and 80 mph gusts didn't even faze it. We're very pleased.

I have a large yard with a wrought iron fence. The ground is uneven and there are many places the dogs can dig under the fence and escape. All-Ways installed rebar at the base of the fence on each iron bar that came down - that's a LOT of rebar! It was tedious work but the guys did a great job in a short amount of time and I've had no escapes since then! They also built two 'patio brick' slabs under each gate so the dogs couldn't get out there either (though Becca still tries every day). I thought it was a little pricey for what was done but once I saw the labor it took and the number of people he had working I concluded it was very fair. Jesse was very responsive and very helpful and I would hire them again any day (in fact this was my second use of them).

Jess worked closely with us to plan, review, and schedule the work. He had no problem incorporating a few last-minute changes to our plan. We did have to obtain the city permit ourselves, which was probably the hardest part of the job for us. Jess and his crew of three or four completed the over 250 feet of posts, fencing, and five gates, in approx. three days with excellent quality.

Jess was great to work with. He was flexible in meeting my scheduling needs and finished the work as promised. The work is very high quality, I am pleased and will use his services in the future.

I was very happy with their work on both projects. Jess is a real pro--he's responsive, courteous and punctual and he cares about getting the job done right. I would highly recommend him.

No services provided. We contacted 3 other companies - all have made visits to our home and provided estimates/bids we'll select one of them to do our fencing project.

Jess, the owner, was very professional. His crew of four individuals were all hard workers and did a good job. They were punctual and finished the job in 3 or 4 days. I instructed Jess that I wanted an alternating panels (a neighbor friendly fence) cedar fence. What I meant to say was that I wanted alternating slats. When I noticed the mistake, Jess had his workers redo part of the fence to the specifications which I meant to request. Later in the summer, after my neighbors had burned some weeds in an area adjacent to my back yard fence (a 1978 wood fence), the wind caused the smoldering weeds to flare and burn down most of my backyard fence. The fence which burned up was not part of the job that All - Ways built. Howevever, I contacted Jess about the problem and he got his crew on the repair to the back yard fence in quick order. I am very happy with the service given to me by All-Ways fencing. I highly recommend them.

Jess responded quickly to my phone call and set up an appointment to come to the house . He consulted with us on the best replacement for our old fence and provided an estimate. After accepting his bid, he gave us an approximate date and expected time for the project. Jess called to let me know when the crew would arrive, and within two days we had a beautiful new fence. We are very happy with the fence and would definitely use them again for our fencing needs, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing a new fence.

My experience with Jess Ivie went very well. He was very responsive to my initial phone call. A prompt estimate was given. The start date was an approximation. I called when it was close and Jess gave me a specific start date that was very close to the original. The old fence was torn down (wood was recycled) which was very appealing. The tear down and completion of new fence took two days which is exactly what I was told. His team is very hard working and polite. We had one minor problem which was immediately addressed when we made Jess aware. The yard was left clean and tidy. The fence looks great and we are very pleased with his responsiveness in all areas.

Showed up as promised. Removed old fence and had hauled away, dug new post holes by hand-no power auger which could result in unanticipated damage, set new posts in concrete and left for the day. This was all done between 8:15 and noon. Returned the next day and installed rails and pickets again between 8:30 and 11:30 completing the job. Quality of components is high. Quality of work is also high.

Quite well. We'd recommend Jess and his crew to anyone.
