Rick Morgan is the best contractor we have ever worked with, bar none. This was in fact the second time we hired him to work on our house. In 2010 he directed a huge remodel that included a completely redesigned main floor. Old flooring, front door, wooden panelling and a rickety staircase were ripped out and replaced with a new, raised cherry wood floor, solid cherry wood front door, drywall and a beautiful curved staircase. We relied on Rick's eye for color and design to help us select new paint colors for the main floor and the master suite. Throughout, he was a valuable part of the design process. In addition, Rick is a craftsman. He used his carpentry skills to build wainscoting in the hallway and dining room, attractive molding around all the doors, a superb built-in bookcase in the library, an entertainment cabinet and a valance to hide the TV projector screen. He transformed a dull archway between rooms into a show stopper through the clever use of columns assembled from wooden molding. Finally, all the new carpentry was painted with an antique finish. A powder room was also part of the remodel, where he Venetian plastered the walls, laid the floor tiles, installed lighting and also all the plumbing! Our house was transformed through his efforts. He proved himself a very capable general contractor. Through the months-long project, he was able to direct all the sub-contractors to ensure that everything was available when and where it was needed. The innumerable practical problems that inevitably arise in such a complicated project were dealt with calmly and swiftly. We were, and still are, so delighted with the results. We have received more compliments on our house than I can possibly count. We brought Rick back for the 2014 project, and once again he found a solution to all the many thorny problems we uncovered. Our house now looks as good as new on the outside as well as the inside. Besides his experience and technical expertise, Rick has a very pleasant, reassuring personality, and in the years we have been acquainted we have never known him to bring anything other than his A game to the task at hand. This includes never leaving the work site untidy. Rick and his team always made sure to leave the site clean and well organized at the end of every day. I have never known another contractor go to so much trouble to clean up! It was all part of his amazing attention to detail and desire to keep the customer happy. He takes great pride in his work and will never leave anything half done. We feel lucky to have discovered such a professional, reliable and trustworthy contractor who is such a pleasure to work with.
