My husband and I have called and left 4 different messages over the span of 2 weeks at both phone numbers listed on the company's profile and no has ever called us back. We are still searching for a contractor to help us with some concrete leveling but we are certainly done attempting to contact #1 Concrete Lifting.
Description of Work: Nothing! My husband and I have tried to contact this company repeatedly just to get an estimate and have yet to receive a return phone call.

Communication was always good with both Mark and his area manager; Josh. Josh was actually very helpful with advice. He came out to our house, reviewed the situation and gave me an understandable explanation of how to both remedy things (no footers on one end of our older home) and how to protect against future damage. He spent probably 20mins detailing different options and their effectiveness. At that first meeting I knew Josh was my choice for the job, I just needed to verify their licensing/insurance and arrange funding. Seemed like a done deal. Mark Loertscher was very forthcoming with offers to show us evidence of insurance. Right before I was ready to issue payment, I went to verify licensing and am left confused...it doesn't exist for this company as a 'contractor'. Kim at Utah DOL Professional Standards and Licensing said that an application has been submitted for #1 Concrete Lifting as a business but it's not approved yet...I was told that they've been working for YEARS but maybe under another name...and that Mark has a business license but is not himself a Licensed Contractor. Our written bid asked that checks/payment be made directly to him. Lastly, the BBB shows an "F rating" and says that they've had 4 compaints against them; two in 2011 and two in 2009. The most recent ones were resolved. If one of these situations existed I'd probably call for an explanation and move forward...but the sum has me hitting my brakes. I still want to use them!!!! Josh has me convinced that he not only knows what he's doing but has our best interests at heart. I just can't justify going with a corporation that isn't recognized as 'licensed' by the State of Utah. If that issue were resolved, I'd probably ask Mark about the BBB issues and move forward...if we ever buy another house and need help I'll probably pull out Josh's card and see if they are ready by then. Right now, I'm too rattled to feel confident about this provider...who has never acted in any way other than professional. It's the paperwork that's not in order. All things considered, I feel compelled to move on.
Description of Work: Written bid...

Contractor was fired for not showing up after making 2 appointments to do the job. When he found out that I had hired another contractor for 1/3 his quote, he came to my home during the day while I was at work and did the work. Came to my home later, after I had returned from work and demanded payment, knowing he had been fired. He now claims he had not received the phone calls notifying him that he was fired, even though I called him from my place of employment and have witness to phone calls. I have paid him $300.00, even though I don't feel he should get any more than the bid of the contractor that I actually hired, which was $235.00.
Description of Work: The driveway at my home has sunk 1 1/2 inches during 8 years, and the contractor was hired to inject material under the cement to lift it back to its original position.
