 + -1 moreMy DSL provider, offered a much faster service, but failed to inform me that I would not be able to use Xmission with the new service. When the new DSL service came online, I had trouble. A service technician at Xmission explained to me that they could not support the service, and that to remain with them I would need to request a slower service. Otherwise, I would need to make a change my ISP to my DSL provider. They would be my only option with the service I had obtained. The technician was cordial and did not disparage the DSL provider, and he could have. I later learned that the DSL provider maintains exclusive control of ISP services for the fastest DSL services. They will let no third-party ISP host these services (a monopolistic practice in my book.) Because of the great service I have received from Xmission over the almost 20 years I have been with them, and because of what I see as unethical business practices, I switched back to the old service speed in order to retain Xmission as my ISP. I am not willing to go with anyone else.
Description of Work: Consulted with me on a problem which turned out to be my DSL service.

 + -1 moreNever had a problem with the service tech (call in). they've always helped me through the issue.
Description of Work: Xmission has been my provider for many years and I have had excellent service. The down side of Xmission is that a Qwest phone line is required for DSL and until Qwest updates their lines, the DSL service is slope (<100 kbps). I am agonizing about changing over to Comcast which is the only other option.

 + -1 moreThey provide nearly flawless internet service, their support staff is available night and day except major holidays. The service rarely goes down, and when it does, it is back up quickly. In the past, internet service providers are quick to point fingers at my computer, the phone company, and others for the problem. They don't do this.
