Great. This is the only company of MANY I called who would come do temporary fixes on the day of the wind storm, before the rain started.

Whitaker's service was excellent, beginning with the scheduler who explained exactly what services were involved in the repair in a very professional manner. The repair was scheduled about three weeks out, but when another customer postponed, Whitaker called asking to move our service up a week. The repair crew was prompt (20 minutes early, actually), very personable and completed the repair in less than three hours.

Needless to say, when water started dripping on my head in my livingroom during a very hard rainstorm with lots of wind, I was anxious to get the problem fixed! I called Whitaker Roofing and Heber came out almost immediately. He easily diagnosed the problem: the roofing contractor from h*** that I had hired to replace the roof a few years earlier had removed the counter flashing of the old roof and never bothered to replace it. As a result, the rain was hitting the brick wall and running behind the flashing of the new roof. Give me a break! We scheduled the repair then and there.Their team showed up A DAY EARLY! How often does that happen?? They completed the work in a way that solved the problem and greatly improved the look of the roof too. I am thrilled with the work they did for me, the professional way they went about the job and the friendliness of their entire staff. This job sounded extensive. I asked how long would it take. An afternoon? I was told not an afternoon but, ?between 4 and 5 hours.? The cost would be $750. Concerned with a change in the weather, rain, I scheduled the job for later that week. Arranged to be at the house for the 4 or 5 hours it would take to complete the job. Friday, the job was done but took only about 2 hours. Some people would have been happy to have had a job finish more quickly but I was quoted a price for a job that was to take twice as long. What I was not prepared for was the form of the bill Whitaker sent me. In making improvements to my home I have become accustomed to bills that break down where the money went. At a minimum, an invoice should include a description of work, materials used, quantity, cost. Hours and labor cost, tax, sub-total and then balance due. This bill gave a description of the procedure and the total amount due. I had hoped to get a better idea of where all the money went. One man working two hours? How much is that? Materials? What did they use? How much did it cost. At the bottom of the invoice was printed: "If you have any questions regarding this invoice...please contact Juli " I contacted Juli at Whitaker Roofing to ask that I be sent a detailed/itemized job invoice. She responded, "..you did agree to the $750 right?" She sounded irritated that I would be asking for a detailed invoice. Juli said that she would talk to Heber about the line itemization I was asking for. What got emailed back to me blew my mind: Materials $180 Labor, Overhead&Profit $570 Total $750 A slap in the face. My problem? Whitaker Roofing quoted me a price for a job that was to take twice as long and at completion failed to provide me with an honest accounting. What I got instead was a smart-=alec brush off.

This is a smaller company and the owner John is hands on. He came promptly at the designated time to give us an estimate on the spot. The installer Greg was here on time to do the work in the designated day. The was pleasant, professional, knew his craft and did an excellent job all on the same. Very thorough and efficient. Could not be happier with the quality of the work.

They were prompt and showed up on the day they said they would. They brought in a dumpster that lifted up to the roof to catch all of the waste. On average it worked really great but a few things fell on the ground. The crew cleaned up around the outside of the garage what fell on to the ground. I was very pleased on how they tried to keep the things clean. The next week the gutter company showed up to install the new gutter around the garage. They forgot to tie in the old gutter from the house to the new gutter but when I called and let Whittier Roofing know they were out the next day and fixed it. Over all I was very happy with Whittier service and I will use them again next year to reroof my main residence.

I spoke to Juli regarding the loss of several shingles and asked for a bid. She explained that they had a minimum charge of $380 for a service call and based on what I was telling her she did not think the repair would be more than the minimum. I agreed with her quote and she set up the service date for the following week since it was not an emergency. She said Greg would show up between 1 and 4 pm and would call if he were delayed for any reason. Greg arrived promptly at 1, was very professional and friendly. He quickly relayed the extent of the damage and said that for the $380, in addition to attaching new shingles to replace the damaged shingles he would nail each corner of each peak shingle with six-penny nails to prevent future damage from the wind. No small task--1.5 to 2 hours. After completing the repair work he mentioned that he could re-seal around the chimney and exhaust vents/pipes and would also nail all of the peak/cap shingles on the separate garage for an additional $80. I gladly accepted his offer and the work was completed by 4 pm. My experience with Whitaker in general, and Greg in particular, was outstanding. My roof will need replacing in about 5 to 7 years and I will definitely use Whitaker for that job.

Very professional proposal, but cost was higher than expected.

Whitaker Roofing Services are professional and prompt. They were well organized. I made an appointment on Friday. They called on Friday to confirm the time. They showed up on time. They worked out the quote and left me a detailed, written quote, with the pictures included. He put it all in my hands before he left, so it was very professional.

In February, I noticed a small discoloration on my kitchen ceiling that indicated there was a roof leak. At this time, the spot was about 14 to 16 inches long. I called two roofing companies after reading the reviews on Angiels List and checking with the BBB. The companies were Whitaker and Aspen and I received bids from both. Whitaker was $250 less than Aspen, BUT what I realize now after talking to Aspen again recently, is that I was not really comparing apples to apples. Aspen intended to check and replace as necessary EVERY one of the boots around pipes on that entire section of my roof, but Whitaker limited their search to a specific and much smaller section of the roof.. Over a month after the repairs had supposedly been made, the leak in the kitchen got much worse, and this time it turned at a 45 degree angle and the spot increased by about 20 inches and the seam split and bubbles began forming with water in them. I called them and at first, this girl, Julie tried to suggest that maybe I had a plumbing problem. I told her that was not possible unless water runs uphill because there is no plumbing above my kitchen. When one of their roofing guys called me later that evening, he told me to get a long pole and pop the bubbles to drain the water since he could not get out because he was dealing with a flooded basement in his own home. Since we were scheduled to get rain for the next 3 days, they came out and tarped the area where they thought there could be a problem since they could not get to it immediately. After the rain, when they came out a third time, the estimator finally admitted to me that he had measured incorrectly and thought the problem area was confined to an area NINE feet from the peak of my roof so they had only checked the pipes above this, but he realized his error and now knew the location of the leak was actually FOURTEEN feet from the peak of my roof. This time they checked around the lower pipes on the ceiling and found the boot that was damaged and causing the leak, ( he actually brought it down from the roof and showed it to me and apologized) but because they did not tarp the lower area when we had the heavy rains, the damage to my kitchen ceiling was now much worse than it had been when I originally contacted them. I know that roof leaks are not easy to find sometimes and I have great respect for the guy who made the mistake, and was honest enough to admit it to me. I just can't say the same about the people in the office of Whitaker. The girl in the office was so short and snippy and with me, and every time I called, I felt like she was treating me like I was an annoyance instead of a customer. I have now filed a claim with my homeowners, Allstate, because the damage is going to be more than my deductible, and even my insurance agent called me to tell me she experienced the same attitude with this girl in the office of Whitaker. I originally was not going to call my insurance company because the cost of repairs would have been less than my deductible, but because of their original measurement error and the fact that they did not bother to tarp the entire area during the heavy rains, more damage was done. It is only because of this girl's attitude and rudeness to me, along with the fact that no one in the management of this company has EVER botthered to follow up with me after their mistake was found that I would not use this company again. They did finally make the correct repair (hopefully!) but they obviously do not care about customer satisfaction and that is a HUGE negative for me. I actually WOULD use the guy that actually made the mistake because he was honest enough to admit it, but NOT if he was still employed by this company..

They gave me a very comprehensive upfront bid with a set firm price. We did some shopping around and they were very comparable in their prices. The gentleman was very friendly and when we agreed to do the work they were very prompt. They did it one hundred percent to my satisfaction so I am very pleased with them. Probably next year when we will have the entire roof replaced I think we will just go directly to them.

The day the work was to be done, he arrived on time and completed the work in a reasonably short time. In my opinion, he did an excellent job and I have had no further problems with that leak. Considering the extent of the work required, I believe the cost was reasonable.

The roof over my garage developed a leak. Whitaker Roofing was one of the companies I called for an estimate. I hired them in 2005 to add some turtle vents and in 2009 to fix a leak around my chimney. Heber came and went up to take a look. Because the problem was so small and because I had hired them before, he said that he could fix the leak right away for no charge. He took a few minutes and applied some caulking to repair some areas where the old caulking had cracked. It has rained a few times since he came by and I have seen no evidence of leaks.

It went excellent. The man that showed up came even a little bit earlier than stated. Went on the roof and then came down to talk to me. He told me exactly what I needed, and gave me a printed estimate copy and photos. They were very efficient. I was really very pleased with them. I would have used this company but they charged $900 more for supplies than another company. But I would definitely reccomend them.

They are top notch. They're all the way around. They just gathered together and they've got skilled people. They are fast. Other than the new roof, everything was just like it was before they even showed up. They did a pretty good job. They cleared all the nails and scraps that were everywhere. They were not the most expensive but they weren't the cheapest either. They did do a lot of work. I will use their services again in the future.

It went very smoothly. After removing the old shingles, they installed a plastic covering over the entire roof, and that night there was a severe thunderstorm. It rained for 1/2 hour with high winds. The plastic covering held with only a minor 3 foot corner coming loose. I was impressed and pleased with their work.

They were excellent. They came out and took pictures and gave me a written estimate right there. They were reasonable in their price so I had them do it. The man who did it was very professional. I give an A all across the board. I will hire them again in the future if necessary.

Appointment for an estimate was promptly set up, with information mailed out and received prior to the appointment. The appointment was kept, and timely. He spent well over an hour and a half going over the roof and affected parts of the home. so they had a good idea of what was needed, ad were able to explain that clearly. While the roof was costly, it was a competitive price for what we wanted, and we were looking for a first class roof. That is what we got. The men who installed the new roof are real craftsmen, and it was amazing how quickly the roof was installed. Cleanup was fantastic. The yard was cleaner than before they came.

My family really liked them. They said they were going to what they said they would, and they did it fast. Overall, they were excellent.

I obtained 3 bids for our new roof. Shaun Whitaker arrived on-time, explained our options, showed us examples of shingles, and explained the advantages. He left us a very nice brochure to help us decide which shingle to buy. He answered all of our question before he left. The other 2 bids were not as informative. Even though they were a few hundred dollars less we hired Whitaker Roofing. They did exactly what they agreed too. The job was done in a day and a half and the yard was just as clean as when they arrived.
