It took them a while to actually get time to come out and do the job, but when they did get out here they did a great job.

I called to request an estimate and described the work to be done. She asked if we would need them to come to the site or if it would instead be okay to just provide an estimate based on the description given. We worked it out that I would email photos of the damage with a description of the work to be done, Jerry would get back to me within a day, and we could figure out what to do from there. That was two weeks ago. No contact since then -- no email, no phone call, no estimate. I called back two days ago to follow up, especially to confirm that the email had indeed been received. She took my info, looked up the file (which also confirmed they do have our phone number), and called Jerry to convey the message with a request that he get back to me. I still haven't heard back -- no email, no phone call, no estimate. Unable to speak to the quality of work which might be done by this company, I hesitate to rate my "overall experience" as an "F." It's all I've got, though, because my entire experience with this company (with the exception of the one answering the phone) has consisted of waiting for a promised response and receiving none.
Description of Work: I called for an estimate to repair (replace) around 60' of fence that came down in a wind storm.

During the bidding process they were great - their price was the most reasonable and the salesperson was not pushy or intimidating like others were who came out to bid, just informative and thorough. The job was scheduled for a few weeks later, and then it took 2 people 2 days to remove out old fence and then set the posts for the new fence. During the digging process for the posts, they cut through one of my sprinkler drip lines, despite me showing them where it was and making it easy to move out of the way as needed. This was more an annoyance than a big deal, since I can repair a drip line easily enough, and up to this point I was satisfied and happy with the work being done. The bad experience came 10 days later when 2 new people came to put the rails and pickets on the posts. One of the workers pointed out that many of the posts, while "perfect" from the finished side, were very chewed up, gouged, and unsightly from the other side. He said that he would not use those boards, would use what he had that day and would come back the next day with new boards to finish up the rest of the fence. He also said that they would sand off the logos that were stamped on many of the boards. The next day came, and he told me that his supervisor had informed him that he would not be allowed to open a new batch of boards for our fence, that we would need to use what we were given. Their argument was that the finished side was perfect, so the unfinished side could be somewhat unsightly. I do not understand this argument, because a fence has two sides and my neighbors and I see both of them. He ended up picking out the best of the more unsightly pieces and used those to finish the job. He also told me that there had been no sandpaper available at the shop, so he would not be sanding off the stamped boards. When I asked if he could come back the next day to sand off the logos and perhaps try again to bring new boards, he informed me that the only way I would get someone back out there to fix my concerns would be to call the company to complain and request a "call back" appointment. He said that those types of appointments were backlogged at the moment, and that it would likely take several weeks to a month before anyone came out. In the end, do we have a decent and functional new fence? Yes. Do I feel like I got my money's worth? Not entirely. Will I notice the deficiencies in the 15 feet or so of unsightly boards in a years time? Probably not. But when I pay for a new fence, I expected it to be done with nothing but the best materials. I may try to make a callback appointment, but at this point I will probably just cut my loses and sand off the stamped boards myself in the spring when I stain the fence.
Description of Work: The guys at Western Fence Co came and removed out old dilapidated wood fence, and then put up 200 linear feet of new cedar fencing for us.

I called them because they had done some work for me several years ago. So, I did not get any other estimates. They were fine and they did a good job. They really were out in a timely manner but somehow they did not communicate that well. They got backed up on the work because of the rain and I kept thinking that they were going to come but they did not. However, it was still within the time frame that they told me. So, I thought that it was okay and it was just that I was anxious. It was fine and they were fast. It looked good. I thought that I paid a lot for a little fence across my driveway and I thought that I should have checked around. It was crazy and it seemed expensive to me but I don't know as I could have probably got something for cheaper. The quality was okay except that there were some little marks on it and I don't know why there were marks on it when I paid so much money. It is probably okay and I don't know what to compare it to. It seemed to me that they could have come out and put my post in sooner. They kept saying that they would put it in but there was rain in the south part of the valley but they could have come out and put my post in as there was no rain here. The girl on the phone would always say that she did not know as to when to say. I had a good experience before. I would call them in the future but I would also call some other companies too before I call them. They are a big company and they are good but a smaller company might have been cheaper and quicker. If they were a big company then they would have other things.
Description of Work: I recently used Western Fence Company to put a fence for my driveway.

They were on-time and on-budget, and the fence looks like it is new. We are very pleased with how this job turned out... and I bet my neighbors are, too!
Description of Work: Our project was a repair of a very busted fence that was knocked out of the ground by the wind, including new posts+concrete+all around general unbustification.

They showed up timing for the bid and revised the bid as necessary. A found a company less expensive, so decided to go with them. Western Fencing would have been my second choice to have fence installed.
Description of Work: This would have been my second choice for a fencing provider to complete 20 feet of fence with two gates. I submitted a report because they were very responsive to revising the bid and answering questions.

Provided a timely bid. I called with a question and they promptly returned my phone call.
Description of Work: I obtained a cost estimate from Western Fence. They provided a bid and it was about the same cost as others. I decided to go with another company because my fence material was faded and the company I selected was able to provide a warranty for the materials. Otherwise, I would have selected this company.

I went to the Western Fence showroom to look at their sample fences. They were very informative in answering questions about the different styles they had to choose from. They offered to have someone come out to give us a bid and took our phone number. Jerry called us the next day and made an appointment for a few days later. He showed up on time and was very helpful in answering the specific questions I had regarding the quality of the vinyl they use and their build methods. He took measurements and emailed me a bid the next day. We felt the bid was pretty fair but ended up going with another fence company. I would consider using them in the future.
Description of Work: Obtained a bid to replace our fence.

Devon, our sales rep, came to our home to measure the fence and talk to us about our option. He gave us a bid within a week. As soon as we decided to move forward, he brought the contract over to our home. Our neighbors ended up going with Western Fence as well due to frustration with other companies. Once we signed the contract, they let us know they were about 10 days out. Sure enough, a week and a half later a crew showed up and set all the posts for the wood and the iron in one day. The had to let them settle another 10 days. Showed up 10 days later and started building the fence. They were completely finished in 3 days and had a two man crew. I am 100% satisfied with the price and quality and have been telling all my neighbors about Western Fence.
Description of Work: The fence turned out great! Western Fence has a designated sales force, so it was a quick process and turn around. we had 150 feet of fence with three gates. We did the dog eared cedar and the slats are about an inch think. Really good quality and REALLY sturdy. we also did iron all along the back ward. It looks beautiful and they did a great job on all the finish work. Straight along the top, gates are reinforces with a steal frame, no space between the slats.... really, really beautiful.
