USI All Purpose Windows & Doors

USI was wonderful to work with. They had to coordinate with another company that was replacing our siding, and everything went very smoothly. They installed new Anderson Fibrex windows, which look beautiful and function well. They even replaced the old white tile window sills with wood sills that we could stain to match the baseboards and wainscoting throughout the house. The whole thing took only three days--and the third day was necessary only because a couple of windows that had been replaced earlier necessitated drywall repairs had been a different depth than the new windows, so some dry-wall repairs were necessary. Rusty was our sales person and he stayed in touch until the job was completely done. I'd definitely use them again.

I wanted an approximate estimate on a window well. He gave it to me .

First, the person told me that they don't replace aluminum windows, but I told him I wanted the entire window replaced, not just the glass, and he said they could accommodate that and someone would call the next day. Called again three days after not hearing back, and still no response. Apparently, they are only interested in doing large jobs.

Everyone we dealt with at USI was terrific, from Rusty Carson the salesman and overall guide, to the installers and stucco finishing people. High quality products, high quality workmanship, and very cordial people to deal with. We will certainly use USI again, without hesitation.

They were very professional, and made all repairs needed after digging out the old, concreted-in windows. Very pleased with the service and the products.

I'm a builder and called to speak to salesperson so I could send in measurements for 25 fairly expensive windows, receptionist said I had to schedule an appointment, I explained I don't need measurements, just a quote. She said no quote without an in-home visit. Insane. I'm only leaving a review so the owner can know their receptionist is turning away 20k RFPs from potential repeat customers.

These guys know what they're doing. This install went more quickly then we anticipated. The installers arrived within the time frame arranged. They were considerate, friendly, and knowledgeable about their product. They never complained even tho installing one of the windows in our kitchen bay was a tight squeeze in relation to our deck. Before they left they made sure we knew how to use our crank windows (new to us) and how to take the screens out & put them back in. They even made friends with our dogs! We plan to have them replace our basement windows next.

They did an excellent installation job, were punctual, very little mess, extremely polite and conscientious about their work. We investigated a number of providers and while worried about how the installation would go based upon previous experiences with contractors, we were very pleased by their efforts and work product.

Took a long time. Didn't hear back from them for a while. Installed a window that was broken. But came back the within a day or two to fix. Seems like a nice window.

I called USI in late August upon referral from a friend. I had gotten 3 other bids previously and wanted a couple more. They showed up on time for the appointment. I dealt with Rusty. He was very responsive to texts. I actually did not hear him at my door (my door bell was broken and the tape had fallen off so he did not know) and missed the first meeting but when I called him he was more than willing to return. His price was very competitive. There were a couple of other companies that were close but Rusty's responsiveness to my texts and willingness to come back and his demeanor (he was not pushy and did not talk bad about other companies ) were the reasons I decided to go with USI. He explained the next step would be for Dave to come out and measure. Dave followed up in a couple of days and came out to measure. Then about 2 weeks they called and wanted to make an appointment to install. I had to delay 2 weeks due to travel and they very willingly accommodated my request. They showed up right on time and go to work. They installers, Dave and Stephan were great, worked hard but personable. I have two small children and they were very considerate of them. The windows look great and work well. It took them about 5 hours to install and they did a good job of cleaning up before they left. I would definitely use them again and recommend them.

I would say we were almost completely 100% good. Were still having a little bit of trouble with the lock, sometimes it does not want to lock but other than that everything was very nice. My first impression when they came out was very good, a very good and positive impression. They were very pleasant to have around. I don’t really have any complains. They did good work. For the lock thing, I think maybe we don’t exactly understand how were supposed to do it or something. Overall I would definitely recommend them to people.

It was a very positive experience. They were very fast. They did it in two days. I really like the owner of the company. There was a problem where one time and they all went through our actual ceiling. The owner of the company actually came back and fixed it so nicely that you can’t even tell. The roof is very nicely. They cleaned up really nice and they have good workmanship. It was very nice. I highly recommend them.

They've been really good. Our experience was very good. I like that they were dependable and they got the windows in when they should. The only thing, and it was not their fault, is one of the windows was broke before they got here so they had to re-order it.

I had a window broken by a rock that was thrown through it so I was calling to get some rough estimates on the cost of replacement. I decided to look at Angie?s List for recommendations and found All Purpose Windows and Doors with high ratings. They list on both this site and their company web site that they do ?glass repair? but when I called them I was told that they do not. Will someone from this company please update both Angie?s List and your own Company Web Site to reflect the services that you do provide and not lead members astray? Also your company web site has not been updated since 2011 as you are still advertising a $500.00 Tax Credit that ended on Dec 31, 2011.

We live in a historic neighborhood and our home was built in the 1920s. Our home has a lot of special historic details including wood-stained crown mouldings and dark wood window frames. The old wood-framed single-paned windows were horribly cold in the winter and we needed to replace them while still maintaining the historic look. Only a few companies make quality energy-efficient wood-framed windows that we could stain to match. The salesperson from All-Purpose was outstanding and provided us with a free estimate, lots of information and no pressure to buy. He came to our home, took measurements, and then we were able to go to their office to look at the various options for windows and hardware. The pricing was reasonable for the quality of windows we purchased. Windows arrived and were replaced within the time frame they gave us. The window installers were friendly, skilled and trustworthy. They did a great job of installing the new windows and removed/disposed of the old ones. They were even thoughtful enough to ask us if we wanted to keep the old hardware or anything from the old windows prior to them taking the windows away. Thereafter, our original salesperson followed up with a visit to make sure everything was installed correctly. Overall we were extremely happy with our window purchasing and installation experience and would highly recommend All Purpose Windows.

I wanted to install more energy efficient windows in some cold bedrooms. The initial assessment was prompt; he knew his stuff. He let me divide the overall bid so I could do the windows in stages (in other rooms). The scheduler is a little difficult to work with. But if you are flexible it all works out. The installer was very polite, very punctual, and very professional. I will be using them again.

The price ended up being more then originally quoted. I was not happy about that.

Things went well and the process was one of the easiest on my current remodeling project. The price came in quite a bit above the original estimate but I believe in the end I was willing to pay a bit more for such high quality windows. Part of the project included removal of a brick wall so a door could be installed where a window once was. They sent out a brick mason to meticulously pull out the bricks and rebuild the wall so there were no cut edges along the new door. There was an issue with the debris being hauled away on a timely basis by the brick mason, but after contacting our rep it was taken care of the next morning. The window installers were very professional and did an excellent job installing and insulating the new windows. All material was neatly cleaned up and hauled away immediately. Our order came with two mis-matched window screens, no sliding door screen or the convenient repositionable sliding door lock, but I'm told the items have been ordered and trust they will be here soon. I would definitely use All Purpose again and would recommend them to a friend without hesitation. The Marvin windows are outstanding.

The sales person was great. He answered all our questions quickly. Once he got our window requirements and how/what we wanted and the financing worked-out, it took about 2-months for the windows to be made. Once they had windows, they performed the entire installation in one day. The windows and the french door are GREAT! We had a minor problem with one of the window removals where the installer cracked the drywall from the window to the floor. We mentioned it to the company and they arranged for the contractor to return and patch the drywall. It turned out very well. One thing that was missing was the screen on one window. They said they would get it to us in about 2-3 weeks and it ended up taking 6 weeks. Another issue we had was with trying to get the energy efficiency rebate from the power/gas companies. All Purpose said they would take care of everything, but they had issues with funding and getting us paperwork to complete the installation (because of the extra drywall patching and waiting for the screen). They finally got the paperwork in for the rebates and the rebates were denied due to the timing between installation and when the paperwork was received by the Power company. All Purpose did make it right, though. They worked with the Power company and got the paperwork fixed so, in the end, we did get the rebates. All in all, everything worked out and we are very happy with the product.

I got their name of off Angie's List. The experience was good. I think they did a nice job. They did not send enought people to do the job, so I ended up having 2 men working, and they said that they should have had 2 days to do the job rather than 1 day, which is for 4 people, and so I had one fellow working until about quarter to ten at night which did not make him particularly happy. The one guy who did the work was cranky and I he was professional, but guess I can't blame him for being cranky but the rest of the people were professional.
