Description of Work: I was gifted 6 man hours of housecleaning service via a 'deal' my husband purchased for me. I called right away, left a message and received no answer for 9 days. When I did hear back, I was told that services would be a month out. The PF rep said she couldn't schedule with me until 4 days before. That was frustrating - I prefer to schedule services in advance so I can plan my day, especially when I have to take time off from work. But with this method, I had to schedule a day and then wait to hear what times they'd be available. The rep did call back 2 days (not 4, as she promised) in advance and said the only time they had available was mid day. Fine. We scheduled. 24 hours later, a confirmation that they would arrive at the promised time of 1:15. Awesome. | |First, the team arrived 45 minutes early. Second, when they arrived, they had 3 people (instead of the two I was told would be there.) No biggie, 3 people at 2 hours instead of 2 people at 3 hours. Either way should work - except, my house is very small. | |When the team came in, they just stood in the kitchen. No introductions, no explanation of services. They just stood and waited. So, I introduced myself, asked their names, and offered a few, tentative instructions. The team nodded and then said 'ok, we'll get to work.' Great! | |The team did complete the dusting. The bathrooms were done by a wonderful worker who just kept going and going, cleaning like crazy. The other two workers both used my other restroom and then wandered from room to room, looking for things to do and avoiding my kitchen. They stood in my hall to have a conference about what room the other should do and I could hear they had questions for me, but neither approached me. I stayed in the nursery with my son to give them room to work. They asked if I had a broom and swept, they asked if I had a mop. I did not. So, the one worker began washing the floor while the other wandered back and forth from the floor-washing to the bathroom and watching what they were doing. | |They arrived at 12:30 and by 2:15, they were 'packing up' to leave. 3 people leaving 15 minutes early, that's 45 minutes of man-hour time I didn't get on top of all the wandering. When the worker brought me the invoice, she said "We didn't get to your kitchen. And the hardwater stains in the bathtub wouldn't come off." She'd marked the kitchen as complete on the 'satisfaction' paper she left for me and she marked that they left 15 minutes later than they were leaving. | |She didn't ask for feedback or if there was anything else to be done. I told her the tub was fine, and I understood. I was about to tell her that I wanted them to look at the kitchen in their last 15 minutes, but she interrupted what I was saying to tell me she had to run to her car 'for a minute', and 5 minutes later, when I looked for her outside, they were gone. | |Since it was a 'deal' and a gift, I just left it - I couldn't afford more time off work to have them return and I didn't want to coordinate trying to reach the PF rep after the scheduling hassle. High maintenance scheduling, a team that didn't complete the promised and paid-for service, and a worrisome amount of miscommunication have made me very hesitant to give them more of my time. |
