Everyone was professional and courteous. They were concerned about my sewer issues and quickly ran my claim through the warranty company. They arrived earlier than expected and got the job finished in a timely manner.

The absolute worst experience I have had with this company. Unfortunately, Homeserve uses them as a trusted contractor. The first experience was in December 2023, my shower head was leaking into the back wall of a nearby bedroom. They said it was fixed by putting a cap on the shower head pipe. Then told me I need to reach out to their guy about the water damage. That was a whole other problem. It took them 3 months to get anything done. We ended up fixing the water damage ourselves. They came back from Homeserve yesterday , to fix my AC drainage line which was clogged up. They had gotten there snake drainage tool stuck in the drain. They then told Homeserve, they need to do a complete excavation and replace the drain pipe. So of course they needed to move my water heater. Now, guess what?! My water heater is cracked at the seem. They said, “Your water heater is old & needed to be replaced.” Told Homeserve they would fix it for us, as if they weren’t responsible. Forking me a $1100 OOP expense. It’s funny there was NOTHING wrong with my water heater before the fact. They seem to be taking my Homeserve insurance claims $$$$$ for a good ride & taking advantage new homeowners. At this moment I have no hot water. Stott says their managers or owners are out until Tuesday, to make a decision on replacing my damaged water heater. As a technician, if a water heater is old and possibly fragile in their opinion, they shouldn’t have touched it! I’m not sure if they are trying to make quick bucks from unsuspecting customers but this should be 🚩 RED FLAGS for them. I hope the owners make this right. Called with A drainage issue, now, I have water damage from a leaking water heater..

Had them out twice on a Homeserve warranty call for a blocked sewer line. There was no sewage backup in the home until they attempted to clear the sewer line. Then there was significant sewage backup which they then walked around the carpeted area of my basement. Then they tried to leave the job saying they were finished, when in fact the sewer line was still blocked and the basement toilet was not flushing. In the course of getting the sewer line cleared, the backup they created caused a basement floor drain to become clogged. They said they would clear that drain before they left, which they did not. That led to the email below, which I sent twice to an address provided by their receptionist, and which was never responded to. So, not only was their work inferior, but so was their business ethics and customer service. I would be very hard pressed to ever use them again. Hi Brian, I need to share some thoughts with you about my recent experience with Stott Plumbing in hopes that they will register with you and maybe improve the customer experience for future Stott customers. As you know I had Stott unblock a Sewer Line at my home recently, under a Homeserve warranty, which was immediately followed by a blocked floor drain in the mechanical room. This was after Max told me that a floor drain blockage might happen and that he would clear the for drain before leaving, which obviously did not happen. Instead of just simply coming back to address the problem which Stott had created, I was forced to open another work order with Homeserve. Then when Stott did come back, they spent maybe 15 minutes trying to clear the floor drain, saying they couldn't snake the drain, and advised me that since I don't have interior plumbing coverage with Homeserve, it would cost $2800 to replace the floor drain (ie I would get to pay Stott to fix a problem they created, quite amazing). Today I had another plumbing company come out who successfully snaked the drain and cleared the blockage for $159. So, I am out the hassle, a Homeserve service call (which are limited in number) and $159. I suppose that's better than being out all that and an additional $2640. I don't expect that Stott will make this right, although if customer service and customer satisfaction were important to them, they certainly should. Sincerely, Jim

Stott Plumbing is the most honest, economical, and capable plumbing company we have ever worked with (we’ve had a number of negative experiences with other plumbing companies). Stott has always sent prompt, courteous, and experienced employees, and has solved our plumbing problem whether big or small. I highly recommend Stott Plumbing. Stott was great, I have used them in the past. I had an insurance policy on my main incoming line and they sent Stott out to fix the problem. Juan and his helper were great. The work was done quickly, they had a plate they put doen sabout when the plumner would arrive. o that my lawn still looks great. They also repaired where they dug up the lawn extremely well. Top notch work and top notch customer service from the office keeping me informed. As mentioned I have used Stott in years past and they have always been great.

We had this company bid out the complete job of running lines for this remodel. The guys here that did the job were professional and did a good job. Apparently this bid did not include coming back out to hook up the lines when the counters and appliances were in as we had assumed by what was written on the bid. We attempted to call them regarding this issue- they told us they would call right back, but didn't. We called again the next day and they said not only was the final hookup not included in the bid it would take another 3 weeks for them to come out to do this hook up for us. We were disappointed with the lack of professionalism and poor customer service. We spent quite a bit of money upgrading the plumbing and gas, and yet this company did not feel we, as customers, were important enough to see the job through to completion. They also had problems working with our contractor, who was looking out for our best interest and told him they would not do any other jobs for him in the future and hung up on him. What kind of company rudely does this instead of trying to work out differences?
Description of Work: This company ran new water lines and gas lines in our kitchen for a complete kitchen remodel. They also repaired and replaced some water lines which looked like they needed it. It was several days worth of work.

The main water main was leaking and needed replacing. Salt Lake City allows owners to buy insurance for this purpose, so I called the insurance company, and Stott called me within the hour. They arrived promptly the next morning. Their workman replaced the line, and restored my landscaping so one couldn't even tell they had dug things up. They were very professional. Later I had a leak, but they sent Ben out to check the valve, which was working fine. Through us working together, we discovered there was a leak in the sprinklers main line. Ben was very professional and responsive. It was a pleasure working with Stott Plumbing throughout this process. They inspire trust, and I highly recommend them.

This was for one of my rental units. My regular plumber was busy and I called Stott. They came out the next day, cut very small holes in the wall behind the bath and replaced a large portion of pipe and the faucet. This allowed my tenant to shower right away. I was very happy with their responsiveness and work. I thought the price was quite fair for 3 hours of work.

I use them pretty regularly. Gerald has been a plumber forever and is recommended by our state board of plumbing licensing division. He also teaches plumbing at Salt Lake Community College. That is a lot of recommendations coming from a lot of different places. He is really good, but he is really expensive, too. Other people could probably do the work for less money, but they may not do it as well; he is really good at what he does. It took him a day to get here one time; once you have his attention he does a great job.
Description of Work: I use Gerald Stott of Stott Plumbing & Heating to do an expansion and pump repair on my hot water heating system. I did a new addition to my house so they ran the new heating system into it.

They showed up when they promised, dug (and didn't dig) where promised, core drilled through the foundation and ran a mole from the basement to the street. Apparently it all went without a hitch because when I got home from work they were packed up and ready to go and you could hardly tell they were there.
Description of Work: Had them replace my water supply line from the meter to the house. They setup temporary water for us while we waited for them to come out (4 days counting the weekend). They showed up on time and got things rolling fast. When I got home @ 5:00 PM you could barely tell they were there and the job was done. Very well done, and they did everything that they said they would. My only complaint would be that they added $300 to the job to replace a hose bib that was right next to the new water supply line. I can see an additional cost but $300 for that (less than a foot of copper, a tee, a frost free valve and a couple sweated joints) seems like a lot of money.

I had two other bids, all at least $10,000.00 or more along with two confusing explanations of various sewer replacement methods. Bryan Stott explained the method he would use, a trenchless bursting method and quoted me $8800.00. I hired his company to do the job. I requested a small section of sewer be replaced that went through the foundation to the trap right outside the home which added another $400.00 to the job. Several years ago I had the inside plumbing replaced and I could not convince that high end company to replace this piece. Stott plumbing replaced that piece without hesitation. Bryan also explained all the different sewer replacement methods in use today, as well as each of their pro's and con's. The most impressive aspect of Stott plumbing is that they own all their equipment and specialize in sewer and water main replacements. This made the length of work significantly shorter than if a company has to subcontract work. Bryan Stott was one of the most professional and curteous plumbing contractor I have had the pleasure of doing business with. Not once did he condescend to me or treat my questions and concerns as if they were insignificant. He did exactly what he said he would do and got the job done very quickly. Overall it took two days! My sewer was down for roughly 6 hours, thats less than half a day. His crew cleaned up after the job very well. Overall this was a job that was done as smoothly as possible. I am recommending Stott Plumbing to anyone who needs their sewer or water line replaced. Thank you Bryan Stott and your crew! I wish all contractor's possessed this level of professionalism and competence.
Description of Work: My 100 year old sewer line had needed replacement for many years. Bryan Stott was working down the street from me and when I requested a bid he responded in 24 hours. I hired Stott Plumbing to do the job. The entire sewer line from inside my home, through the foundation and out to the street was replaced using the trenchless bursting method.

Description of Work: Our main sewer line was clogged with tree roots. Stott plumbing responded promptly, detected the problem and we had them repaired it. We did not compare prices. When your sewer is backing up into your house, there is no time to compare. All the people we dealt with were very professional including Bryan Stott, two different Andrew's and another worker whose name I didn't get.

I was given Stott Plumbing's name from the city as a potential bidder on a sewer problem that was identified by another company in August 2011 when my basement drain overflowed. Unfortunately, although I paid that company a lot of money to have a camera put down my sewer line, they did not videotape their investigation but told me a needed a $12,495 repair, which they would deduct the cost of the camera work from if I used their company. At the time, I did not realize I was entitled to a videotape as I had paid for it. This company wanted me to agree to sign on the dotted line for the work the night they were there and told me the bid would only be good for two weeks. After receiving this initial diagnosis of the problem, I learned that the city has a program to provide financial and technical assistance to homeowners faced with such repairs. I contacted the city about my supposed sewer problem and they gave me the names of several contractors to obtain bids from. I liked Stott Plumbing's responsiveness from my first call to them. I spoke with Bryan Stott, who was polite, knowledgeable, and eager to be of assistance. We arranged for a time for him to come over and although it ended up being later than we had initially planned, I did not mind because Bryan stayed in touch the entire time to let me know he was running late. He spent a good deal of time listening to what I knew about the problem and explained what was likely going on. Because I did not have a videotape of the first camera investigation, he suggested that he return and put a camera down the sewer line to verify the problem existed and gather more precise information about the location of the problem, before I spend thousands of dollars on a repair. Bryan returned the next evening (a Friday) at 5:30 p.m., a time convenient to me, and spent two hours with his assistant investigating the problem. They put a camera down my sewer line from the roof and confirmed the originally identified break my sewer line from the main city line, but also a second problem that the first company had missed. He videotaped the entire investigation and narrated the video at certain points to describe what he was seeing. We discussed the pros and cons of a couple of solutions and he also told me that the cost of the camera work would be deducted from his bid, were I to select his company to do the work. When I asked him if I could put off the repair until the spring, he gave me what I felt was a straight answer. He promised to write up a bid for the work and by the next day, he dropped it by my house, along with a tool that belonged to me that his assistant had inadvertently put in their truck when they were cleaning up. I was impressed with the honesty and the follow through.
Description of Work: I needed to have a camera put down my sewer line to determine the nature of the break in my sewer line from the city sewer line.
