Absolutely the worst service I have ever received. They were contracted through my home warranty to come fix my washing machine. They came out quickly, diagnosed an issue, and scheduled a return appointment to install parts. The return date was 3 weeks away. The day of the appointment they canceled and rescheduled another 3 weeks out. The day of that appointment they rescheduled another 3 weeks out. I have now been without a washing machine for almost 2 months. I finally hired another repairman to come in and install the parts they ordered. After all that those parts did not fix the issue. I am livid that anyone would run a business this way. I realize they already have the money from my warranty call and feel no obligation to keep me happy because I am not their customer. My only hope is that I can persuade other customers to go elsewhere.

I was hearing a noise when I drove and I went to a small mechanic that told me it was a rotor that was going to coast $380. I went from there to the dealership thinking I still had some warranty on that car, which I did not but they quoted me a price of $270. Which I thought was unusual that a dealer was less then a small business mechanic. I went from there to Sears and they did a dealing evaluation and ended up saying I did not need a rotor at all that the noise I was hearing was from a wear pattern on the tires. SO it was just wind going through the tires that I was hearing. It costs $16 for them to tell me that. The others wanted to charge me hundreds of dollars to do something I didn't need.
Description of Work: Took car in for a quote on a rotor for my car. They test drove it and then took the tires off and examined the bearing by hand. They determined a rotor was not needed.

They could have put in the dishwasher correctly so I wouldn't have had to have a repairman come out and do it. The runners are too weak for the drawers. I had to have them come out and put a heavier duty runner on them. I would use them for repairs but I probably wouldn't use them again for remodeling.

Description of Work: My swamp cooler was leaking. It is a Kenmore so Sears came out. The technician was late. He did try to call my home phone but I had turned the ringer off. The float was not adjusted correctly so that is why the cooler leaked. He fixed the float. I understand that service calls are expensive and that it might have cost me the same with any other company but $125 to have the float adjusted?

The first part of July 2014, I had a team of service technicians come to fix my KitchenAid dishwasher. The technicians didn't have enough parts to replace all of the broken parts so they scheduled a return visit for July 11. Sears Service Center has a lousy way of assigning technicians so a different technician was assigned for the return visit. The new technician didn't know what the first technicians did (or didn't check the previous service ticket) and the new technician removed parts that the first technicians put on and replaced them with the incorrect parts. Unfortunately, I wasn't home when the work was being done so when I discovered the problem a couple of hours after the technician had left, I called Sears Service Center the evening of the 11th and asked if they could have the technician return the parts that he took. I was told that they couldn't talk to the technician directly but they would schedule a return visit by a technician to "see" what parts they needed to replace. They wanted to schedule another 4 hour block of time for this to occur and wanted me to wait until the 16th. I explained that I was not okay with that solution because I wasn't willing to miss another 4 hours of work to sit home to wait for a technician to show up especially when the inept technician took my parts in the first place. They said they would see what they could do and they would call me back. I never received a call back so I called back on the 12th and asked to talk to a manager. I had to explain the situation all over again to the customer NO service representative. They reluctantly agreed to transfer me to a manager. They placed me on hold for 32 minutes and then the call was disconnected. I called back right after the call was disconnected (this is still the 12th of July), and went through the same process. This time after sitting on hold for 16 minutes, I was disconnected. I was so frustrated and angry that I had to put in so much time to solve a problem that shouldn't exist. The fact is, Sears has been getting worse for me as a consumer for years and this was the straw that broke the camel's back. I've had scheduled appointments that have been erased from their system, technician no shows, reschedules because they didn't have enough technicians for the appointments scheduled, and really long wait times (up to two weeks) to get an appointment. In fact, one time when Sears called to inform me that they wouldn't be able to keep my scheduled appointment. I was really frustrated because they didn't move all of the appointments ahead a day, they made me go back to the end of the queue and it took me another 10 days to get a new appointment. I tried to escalate my concern but to no avail. Sears has a set system and they won't budge. It is impossible to talk to someone in a position who has the power to do anything to help. Any time I have asked to speak to a manager, I've never been allowed to do so. On a side note, I had a KitchenAid dishwasher prior to this one and owned it for 10 years and loved it. I vowed to always buy a KitchenAid; however, I've owned this KitchenAid for about 3 years now and I absolutely hate it. The parts on the racks break all of the time. It is built so poorly; I will never buy a KitchenAid again. We're moving soon so I'm looking for a substitute for our new home. This is for sure...we will NOT be buying a KitchenAid dishwasher and we will NOT be buying any appliances from Sears. I will never be held hostage again to the warranty service provided by Sears Service Center.
Description of Work: The repair technician was to repair our KitchenAid dishwasher by replacing parts that were broken. The dishwasher was under warranty so I didn't pay a fee for the services.
