Description of Work: Wedding band resized, necklace latch repaired, prongs and settings checked on ring

Description of Work: I took two rings to McKay's for repair. In one, a small red stone had fallen out and been lost; in the other, a large blue topaz had come out of its mounting. They replaced the small red stone and recommended the mounting be changed slightly on the topaz. The large stone only had one prong on each corner to hold it. He said that he could fix it, but given the nature of the mount couldn't guaranteed it wouldn't fall out again. He recommended converting each large corner prong to a pair of smaller prongs so it could be held by 8 prongs and not 4. The work was flawless and the stone is now secure. I actually think that the ring looks better with the two small prongs on each corner.

Description of Work: My husband purchased me a ring inlaid with turquoise for Christmas and it was 2 sizes too big. I took it to McKay to be sized down.

Description of Work: Wife purchased ring from another jeweler. Had to have it sized. Didn't trust original jeweler due to ring design. Contacted McKay Diamond Jewelers. Explained situation and they said to bring wife and ring in for inspection and estimate as to resizing. Due to metal composition of band, laser had to be used without damaging any of the stones. Gave estimate as to cost and explained as to the procedure that had to be performed in great detail. Left ring for resizing. Received a call a week later and was informed that the ring was ready. Took wife down to pick up ring. A perfect sizing. Can't even tell that it was done. Wife and I very satisfied. Another ring that wife had lost 2 or 3 small diamonds. Went back to MaKay Diamonds Jeweler because of great experience. They were able to replace the diamonds at a very reasonable cost and within a reasonable time. Again, very satisified. This is a

Description of Work: First a bit of trivia...My parents bought their wedding sets at Mc Kay Jewelers. Moving on here, my wife took my daughter in to have a ring that her Grandmother had given her. This is the part is that is unbelievable to me,. The new owners at Mckays, take the ring and size it while my wife and my daughter waited to have it done. It is very hard to please my spouse in just about everything. She was dumbfounded that the ring did not need to be left behind at the store so the sizing could be done.The quick time to have the ring sized and the price was very fair. So, so when my wife shared this story. I remembered back a couple of months before all of this taking place. And,.I had asked the Jeweler to see if he could fix a Rider Belt Buckle Set of mine. This belt buck is remarkable. The reason that it is so 'remarkable' is because the sterling silver buckle has turquoise and lapis lazuli set in the sterling silver. A couple of the specificity cut tones had fallen out and were lost. Hence, it needed to have stones cut to set into the buckle. Well, over the last five years or so... I had attempted to find a Jewelers to see if that they could fix it for me. No one else along the Wasatch Front would even attempt to fix it. The jeweler here said that it wouldn't be a problem at all. This fellow took the buckle and asked a few questions of me...because he wanted to know exactly how it should be fixed. So, that I would be happy with what was going to be done. I always procrastinate about having these types of repairs done. But, because my wife had told me how fast he was at getting the job done. I had a minute and I took it in. I also, wanted it done quickly because. Now, I felt the belt and its buckle would be perfect for something that I was attending. He couldn't get it done that day. But, he told me that he would have it done by tomorrow at six. The next day, his wife called to tell me that the buckle was fixed. And, that I could come and pick it up. It was only one o' clock pm. Again, was blown away. I had also left behind a money clip that also had stones cut specifically to be set in it. He also had it completed. The because of the kind of guy I am. I needed a ring sized for me. He did that in twenty minutes and I was on my way. I also, knew where I was going to buy jewelry and have it fixed.
