He wanted to be paid on a weekly basis. After the first week, he took my money and promised me a receipt. I had not looked the little bit of work he had done over thoroughly but thought if there were concerns we could address them the following week. He called and said he wasn't coming back that the work was not the type of work he liked to do, that is was basically beneath him as he was a "fine wood carpenter". The work that was done was shoddy and needed a lot more work before they were in fact ready to be painted. I called him several times to get a receipt so I could see his accounting of where my $1200 went. He never sent me a receipt. I was very dissatisfied with the experience. Of course there is no address on his business card and he is not licensed with the state so I can't even take him to small claims.
Description of Work: He came on to help finish a remodel job that was midway done. This job included rebuilding stairs and finish work on walls. He told me the walls were done and ready to be painted.
