The broken pad at the basement entry and short retaining wall at the end of an adjacent flower bed was pretty straight forward. He jackhammered out the broken pad and retaining wall, trimmed the wall with a concrete saw and poured new concrete. The damaged foundation exterior was much more complicated. He pulled of the old, cracked concrete to expose the brick foundation. The brick was water soaked due to sprinkler water that had gotten between the concrete and the brick. He allowed the brick to dry out for several days and then applied new concrete to cover it and build the wall back out to the original dimensions. At the back of the house there was one exterior wall that a couple sections of the rough shot-crete finish broken off. Previous attempts at getting this repaired had only resulted in offers to cover the entire house with stucco. No one else I had contacted even knew what the exterior house finish was. Joe not only knew what it was but knew who had done the work and was able to patch it with the same pebbly texture as the original. He also added a short, narrow concrete shelf at the bottom of the wall to help protect it from new damage. The whole project took him about 10 days from start to finish including the time for the water soaked bricks to dry out and the poured concrete to cure. The $1850 was a real bargain for all of the time, effort and experience that Joe brought to the job.

I would highly recommend him. His work is of such high quality, he is worth every penny I am paying him. I had him work for me before. He is trustworthy, if he tells you he is going to be there, and he can't make it, he will tell you ahead of time that he is not going to show. He has drawn up the plans, the old fashion way with a pen and a pencil. When he brought it down to the person that had to look at the plans. The guy said "these are real plans!" This is a real good project all the way around. I like him because of what he does and how he does it. He is kind of a jack of all trades. His work ethic is very good, and the people he has working for him is part of the reason why he is more expensive than most. He pays his people more and they work well.
Description of Work: I am in the process of having new construction done on my house and I am having a garage built also.
