Five Step Carpet Care

Tom contacted me promptly when I requested quotes for the needed carpet cleaning. The prior owners left a mess in the house when they moved out. I had no idea what the nasty stains were, but Tom & Five Step were able to clean the carpets and stairs very satisfactorily. The carpets dried quickly, and we could use the rooms only a few hours after he left. I am very happy with the job done by Five Step and am comfortable allowing my daughters to sit & lay on the carpets now.

Did a great job! Our floors were dirty, as we have ignored the manufacturer's recommendation of annual cleaning for wall-to-wall carpeting (we're new to carpet, having always had wood floors in previous homes). Tom and his team was responsive, informative, and helpful. I will definitely hire him again for regular cleanings! Our kitchen tiles look brand new. Wish I had done this a long time ago.

Fantastic! We had several bleached spots on the carpet downstairs which they creatively made vanish, along with cleaning it. Upstairs we have several expensive silk rugs that they took masterful care of and did a wonderful job cleaning. They were both respectful of our home and were very careful to leave the house in better shape than when they left. Tom even gave me a tip on a broken banister that I used and now it's fixed! They were very good. There was a place where someone else had patched the carpet and you couldn't even tell where it was. It was that good. Very professional and when they were done, it looked great. Carpets get kinda dingy looking and it looked great. Very competitive. They did what they were supposed to do, came when they said they would and called before they got here.They weren't early and they weren't late. They were right on time.

Everything turned out amazing....including the sheepskin rug and the chair. Best of all, some of the carpet he cleaned had been cleaned by someone else a few months ago, but it looked bad. When Tom got through with it, it looked like new. This carpet is 23 years old and looks amazing.

It went great, Tom did an amazingly fast job. He was able to do my all the carpet in my home in about an hour to an hour and a half for 1200-1300 sq feet. He did awesome and I would for sure use his services again. It went so fast because he is excellent and the house is empty...no furniture at all. I really appreciated he didn't try to up sell me on anything nor did he add additional charges. One hiccup was he sets his schedule and the app has you pick 3 days/times but I was still able to get in same week I purchased. He did arrive early so I hustle home to let him in but it was worth it but he called me well in advance to ensure I could meet him early.

Tom arrived on time and did a great job answering my questions before began cleaning the carpeting. He was friendly and efficient. The results were awesome! No smell! Love that it is environmentally friendly too. Dried quickly. Looks like I got new carpet!

Tom called ahead to say he was on his way, arrived on time, and did an excellent job. He was very pleasant and professional, provided great service for a reasonable price -- and I will call him again the next time our carpets need cleaning.

Mr. Fitch was slightly delayed but called us twice beforehand to keep us apprised. Once arrived, he measured the area to be cleaned and gave us a precise written estimate of the costs involved. My wife and I had moved all the light furniture out of the way so that only some of the heavier pieces (dining room table, easy chair, exercycle) had to be moved during the cleaning. Mr. Fitch did this and cleaned the areas underneath thoroughly. All other areas, especially the stairs, were treated just as thoroughly. Afterwards, all surfaces dried quickly. No stains were left and we enjoyed the fresh look of everything very much. I wish we could keep this pristine freshness forever!

Tom and a helper were on time and very friendly. What I liked the most is they didn't use hoses running thought the house. They used the house's warm water. This carpet is old and when Tom got finished the carpet looked like new. I thought the $100.00 minamin was a little high.

The service from Five Step Carpet Care was good. He was very flexible and easy to work with.

They were polite on the phone and in person, they came to get the rug exactly when they said they would, they cleaned it for the price they said they would, and they returned it when they said they would. We're very pleased with this company.

My mom recently moved to an assisted living facility. My brother and his wife are going to move into her condo. Before my brother and his wife move in, we needed to have the empty condo's carpet stretched and cleaned. It was my sister who found Tim King, the carpet stretcher and Tom Fitch, Five Step Carpet Care Utah to clean the carpet once it was stretched. They both came one after the other. While Tim was stretching the carpet, (which he did an excellent job...sorry Tom for giving Tim a plug), Tim mentioned that he used to work doing disaster recovery. Tim said that Tom (Five Step Carpet Care Utah) could remove stains that the disaster recovery or other carpet cleaning companies could not get out. When Tom arrived with his partner, he used a laser tape measurer to obtain how many square feet that needs to be cleaned. His partner began vacuuming the carpet to remove the carpet fibers that were left when the carpet was stretched. I would imagine that they do this before they begin to clean any carpet. Wow, this guy doesn't do what most of his competitors do by making you pay by the area. You really get what you pay for by not having a hallway the size of bath towel count as a room! Tom's pricing structure is straightforward. You pay based on how many square feet Tom cleans. For stairs, you pay based on the number of steps you have. Now I'll get to how good of a job Tom did. Well of course Tom got out all of the stains out of the carpet. There were no noxious fumes to make you choke or eyes water. Finally, he uses a big squeegee device with a long handle to cover his tracks as he walks out your front door like he was never there. The only negative thing that I can say is that since the carpet is wet, if you walk on it, you will leave your tracks everywhere you go and it doesn?t look very good. Of course Tom is not to blame since it's not his tracks you see they're yours! I suggest turning on your ceiling fans and open your windows (if the weather is nice) before Tom starts to clean your carpets to let a breeze in to help dry the carpet faster. You can always turn your furnace up if the weather is bad. This will give you an excuse to go shopping for hours, or you can go on an overnight excursion. I defiantly recommend Five Step Carpet Care Utah to anyone who reads this review. You won't be disappointed! You will finally get that ugly and embarrassing stain out. You know the one that you have covered up with a runner or a piece of furniture. Cheers!

Matt was fabulous! He called before he arrived to tell me he was on his way. He was very professional and explained everything he would be doing. He did an amazing job and gave me tips to help me maintain my microfiber! There were no corners cut. Yes, they are a little more expensive than others. But you literally get what you pay for. My couches look brand new! Thanks Tom for sending Matt to my home!

It is important to us to use environmentally safe cleaning products. They assured me that green products are the only products they'll use. They were able to schedule us in quickly. We used them for general cleaning of the carpets, which had some stains. Matt was really professional and did a very thorough cleaning (also a very nice guy!). We would highly recommend them.

Upfront they explained that their pricing is based on sq ft and steps rather than the # of rooms, which I liked. They set an early morning appt, called when they were on the way with a 15 min warning, and showed up on time. Two of them took about 2hrs to do a 1000 sq ft and two flights of stairs. The results were quite good - especially the stairs. A lot of the stains in the high traffic areas were totally removed. In some spots, the carpet was a bit "crusty" after the shampoo, but that seemed to go away after a suggested vacuuming a couple days later.

After making our inital inquiry we heard back from Tom very quickly. He was able to schedule the job the next day. The Service Tech (Rudy) arrived on time and did an excellent job. We will have them back to clean our rugs and furniture and we will refer them to our friends and family. Excellent work and the team was very professional.

They are fabulous and know what they are doing. They are also very reasonably priced.

The gentlemen arrived on time. I had moved as much stuff off the carpet as I could myself. Although I was prepared to go out while they worked, I stayed at home. We were not in each others' way. It did not take very long to do the work. Three hours after Tom and Rudy left, carpet was dry enough to put stuff in place. Best part: no chemical smells. I will not hesitate to call them in yearly.

Tom and his assistant were on time. I called them the same day in the morning and they were able to come and clean my carpets that afternoon. They amazed me with spots and stains that other carpet cleaners were not able to get out of the carpet. Tom and his assistants are professional to the word and it gives me faith again in carpet cleaning. I have had joksters and scams, but Tom is the real deal. Just so that you know he owns both 5 step carpet cleaning and Lundstrom Carpet. I highly recommend their work and their professionalism. I was ready to pay more for the last minute request but he treated me like a regular customer. He has a customer for life!!! They can be trusted and you will be amazed at the great work they do. Tom pays great attention to detail and is a master at removing stains. His system is environmentally friendly, which I greatly appreciate for my young daughter and our pets so they aren't on the floor breathing in dangerous fumes or licking cleaning chemicals off their paws or toys. He's cleaned carpets in our rental properties and in my home many times and I wouldn't use anyone else. He is reliable, available, methodical and reasonably priced. He is very careful with his equipment and treats our homes better than we treat them. I would highly recommend him.
