Elegant Hardwood Floors

We replaced the old carpet in our master bedroom and closet with hardwood. Everyone involved in the demo and installation was very prompt. All of the installers were friendly and competent. The floors are beautiful. They cleaned up after themselves every day. There was a bit of dust on the bedroom walls after completion, but it was easily cleaned. We love the floor! We will use them again.

Elegant Hardwood Floors (EHF) recently installed hardwood throughout our home in Park City. To cut to the chase let me just say they did an amazing job: looks fabulous and they completed on time and slightly under budget. We couldn?t be happier with the results. We selected EHF from the 3 bids we got because Jennifer was the only contractor who seemed to completely understand the complexity of our project which included a spiral staircase, a curved hallway and multiple curved walls. She also returned our call immediately and came out the next day to measure and discuss the issues related to the installation. She prepared the bid within 2 days as promised and it contained more detail than I?ve ever gotten from a contractor for a project; all costs were clearly identified. We had scheduling issues arise on our end after we signed on and Jennifer was again very helpful, locking in the price on the wood for us and rescheduling for a later date thus easing our stress while dealing with an unplanned surgery. The schedule she developed once we got under way was again very detailed with just enough wiggle room built in to ensure completion on time. Everyone showed up on the date they were scheduled. I can?t speak highly enough of the crew that did the work, each one of them was extremely skilled, highly professional and hard working. Watching Clay and his assistant scribe and cut each stair tread to fit around both lodge poles and a curved wall was quite amazing. The finished stairway is perfect. Matt installed the rest of the rooms and he too had his share of tricky cuts and fittings. And again the final product is nothing short of perfect. The final crucial step in the process, stain and varnish, was handled by Will ? a one man tour de force who often worked well into the night to get the entire house done in the allotted time. I should also mention that the end of day cleanup by everyone was quite thorough. And while you cannot have this type of installation done without a lot of dust, it was nowhere near as bad as I feared. In conclusion all I can say is that if you want a quality flooring installation, with no surprises, I would contact Jennifer at Elegant Hardwood Floors. It was a long, dusty project and I hope to never do it again, but if we do I know who I?ll call. We couldn?t be happier with the result and really enjoyed working with Jennifer and all of her great people. Solid platinum.

Excellent company. If you want the finest craftsmanship and first-rate customer service hire Jennifer and Robert. Jennifer arrived on time during the bidding process and was friendly, professional and extremely knowledgeable. She said she was able to squeeze us in being a small job the week of Thanksgiving. The floors were polished and sealed as promised and look fantastic. Very well done. The custom transition was not what we wanted at all. I called Jennifer and left a message that we were not happy with the transition. Jennifer called me back when she landed and was still in the airport on her holiday vacation. Discussed the issue. Robert called me ten minutes later after hanging up with Jennifer. Robert came out the next day and my issues were discussed. A new custom transition was built and installed and looks fantastic. Jennifer and Robert have a long list of A ratings and deserve every one of them. The floor looked great...but the customer service is what sets them apart. I am still in somewhat amazed at how quickly and professionally they responded to my problem. A problem that was created by us and not clearly communicating what we wanted. True White Glove treatment. Hire Jennifer and Robert and you won't be disappointed.

High Professionism - bid to finish. The bid was delivered by the end of the day on the day they visited, as promised. They called to let us know they would be one day late due to another job, but arrived promptly and completed the work. They thought of all the details - undercut original baseboards to ensure seamless fit - with no shoe molding. The installer noticed weak subfloor by the fireplace (repaired) and under spec wood in one bundle without the ratio of hallmark quarter sawn flakes, and ordered another bundle so we would have enough quality wood to finish on spec. The finisher found one board with a flaw/check in the board. The installer came back and replaced. The finisher spent time - eye to the floor, making sure the finish was flawless. Don't look any further - if you want the best, call Elegant - Jennifer is awesome and you will be happy.

They arrived when they said they would, completed the job beautifully, and were great about following up after. We love the floors! The only thing I wish we had done different is laid radiant heat under the floors prior to install. I highly recommend that to keep your rooms warm. We have forced air (used to have radiant) and it seems to have a hard time keeping up with the cold.

They arrived promptly, stripped the existing finish, filled several dents and holes, and then sealed the floor with a clear finish. The job was done quickly over the course of 3 days; at the end of each day they cleaned up and organized the work area. We are very happy with the finished product; our floors are beautiful.

3 rooms and a foyer. Matt was on time and cleaned up everything every day. Worth every penny. Took care to watch out for our three cats when going in and out.

Provider was on time throughout the project which lasted about 5 days. They used plastic film to keep the dust out of the areas that they did not work on. Dust was kept to a minimum in the portion of the house the sanded. The finish came out perfectly. They were not the cheapest bid we received, but their price was close the lowest bidder. We felt like we got a good value from them and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

They came out to give me a bid and showed up exactly when they said they would. We then scheduled a date to do the work. Jennifer told me that it would take two days. They showed up on time on the day that we had scheduled. They got the floors all sanded up with no mess at all. They put the first coat of varnish on and told me that they would be back at 8:30 in the morning. They showed up again, exactly on time. They finished the second coat and they, were finished. The floors look great. Jennifer advised me not to move the fridge back to the kitchen for two weeks, so after two weeks they even came back to help me move the fridge back without scratching the floor. I found these guys on Angie's list with high recommendations. I would definitely use them again!

Jennifer was a delight to work with. Her team is very professional and I think they might be perfectionists! She was able to squeeze me into their schedule as we wanted to get the floors done before we moved in. Any questions I had were immediately answered. I can't say enough about how great everyone was and how much I love my floors:)

Archie was the best! He was meticulous and professional with all of the prep work and sanding. We had a few older boards that needed extra attention and they are now in alignment. The house was not affected any excess dust. His stain recommendation was spot-on! Jennifer has great follow up and attention to all details. Her expertise and carpentry skills are quite outstanding. The moldings are perfect. The charms and challenges of repairing the floors of an older home were met with enthusiasm, experience and skill. We love our new floors and moldings!

They were excellent. There was one older gentleman who did the last 2 jobs. He was really nice and cleaned up every night before he left. He put up barriers for a dust containment system too.

The quality of the work was excellent. The floor is beautiful. There was a significant difference in height between the existing tile floor in the kitchen and entry and the new hardwood in the living room, however they were able to create a transition that is hardly noticeable. They cut the baseboard in the living room and installed the wood under it so that there is also a seamless baseboard transition into the kitchen. I have recommended Elegant Hardwood to two acquaintances. I can't comment as to whether the cost is reasonable or not. I wanted a quality job and basically relied on the reviews without regards to cost. The installers were always on time and very courteous.

This was honestly one of the best experiences I've had with a contractor in my life. From the first contact I had with Jennifer to the day the project was finished, it has been a pleasure working with them. I called on a Friday afternoon and Jennifer returned my call within 30 min. She was available to measure my home the next morning (a Saturday which was convenient for me because I work all week) and gave me excellent advice on how to match the new wood to the existing wood. I asked for bids from a few different contractors and Elegant Hardwood was very fairly priced (but not the cheapest, which is probably a good thing). Not only did I know I was getting a fair price, but I felt confident that this company would stand by their work and deliver on what they said they would do. I was right and the company actually exceeded all my expectations by communicating clearly, managing time efficiently, being flexible with my schedule and going the extra mile to make sure my floors were perfect. Jennifer even replaced broken baseboards for me just to make sure the project looked awesome when they "handed" it over. To top things off, Jennifer graciously waited an extra day to cash my check because I was late transferring money into that account. I absolutely LOVE my floors and cannot recommend Elegant Hardwood enough. This is a company that has built its reputation on delighting its customers and you cannot go wrong by choosing them for your hardwood floors.

Working with Jennifer and her crew was by far the best experience we had with contractors as we renovated our new house this summer. We had originally planned to refinish the old floors in the house, but upon taking up the carpet in the living room we discovered a giant plywood patch in the middle of the floor. Jennifer walked us through our options, putting no pressure on us to make any particular choice, but it was clear that the best option was the most expensive: install new hardwood flooring. We could not be happier with the results! Our new floor is gorgeous and really makes the entire house feel lighter, more comfortable and more attractive. It was very easy to arrange a work schedule with Jennifer and her crew, even though we had a tight deadline for moving into the new house and also had to coordinate other renovation projects (carpet, painting, etc.) simultaneously. We were always kept well informed of the progress of the flooring installation, and the work was done exactly to schedule. Arranging a payment schedule was just as easy. The final product is beautiful, and that is due to the skill and pride of workmanship that everyone at Elegant Hardwood Floors showed. They very clearly knew exactly what they were doing, and they attended to the smallest details. A couple of weeks after the floor was finished, Jennifer even came back to our house to buff out scratches that the painters had made in the floor, and she showed us the right way to do that sort of maintenance in the future. We cannot recommend Elegant Hardwood Floors highly enough! They were great!

Price was right and everything went very well. Showed up on time, got the job done as promised, easy to work with. Very happy with the work EHF did. I'm completely refurbishing my 20 year old home for sale. Best overall experience from any of the contractors I've hired. The owners are completely involved with the whole process from start to finish. It's obvious they really care about their service and the quality of the overall experience. Excellent follow up after the job as well. Their refinisher did a fantastic job, very skilled and professional. Very impressed. It's hard to find this kind of service these days!

We had our small, 57-year-old, living room floor refinished by Elegant Hardwood Floors. I was concerned with how well it would look after years of damage from multiple layers of carpet tacks and staples, scratches from digging up tile from the entryway, and floor board separation where a brick, wood stove, surround once was. The floors look great, and the experience went well with the owner, Jennifer, and the crew, Archie and Philip (I apologize if I misspelled their names.) It took four half-days. They have a large, portable vacuum that minimized the dust particles, plus plastic was hung in the openings just in case. We only had one day of smelly stain. The water-based finish was fast drying and not smelly at all. For extra protection, we went with three coats of finish. They were an experienced father-son team who cared about the job, and were patient with our moment of stain-color indecision. I appreciated their advice e.g., our initial stain choice was ebony, which they suggested was too dark for the small room size. We chose Special Walnut, a lighter finish and we are very happy with it. Jennifer was also prompt, professional, and knowledgable. I am glad she suggested using a vacuum to clean, instead of a Swiffer, which could scratch the finish.

Excellent service all around. Very responsive. Did exactly what they said they were going to do and for the quoted price.

Everything went very well. Jennifer and Rob were punctual and professional as were Matt the installer and Will the finisher. Our existing floor was a custom milled fir and it was important we matched it. They brought in their wood guy and were able to match the existing floor very well. The work went smoothly and the quality was great. Very happy with the result.

Can't say what a good experience we had with EHI. The floors just look awesome. I really hate to put furniture on them so we can still see more of the floor, just can't believe what a difference they made. To get a consistent look to the wood, they sanded the other parts so they would have the same look as newly installed hardwood section. They sanding was good, hardly any extra dust. At that state, even the floors looked great. Then they did a sealer that covered any little cracks. They sanded it off. Put on two coats of finish and that was the best part. Love they satiny feel to the finish. Just looks great, very happy. If I could give more of a higher rating I would.

Jennifer gave me a bid for the job and was very thorough and patient in answering all of my questions. The bid was fair and the same or lower than 2 other bids that I had already received from other companies. She was able to fit me into the schedule a little sooner than she had originally thought she would be able to, which I really appreciated. A man named Will did the majority of the work and did a great job. There was a miscommunication the first day and he came a couple of hours later than I expected (thus the B for punctuality in my ratings), but he apologized and was clear regarding when he would be arriving on the other days of work. He went out of his way to let me know that he wasn't starting staining until a later day than he expected so that I could stay in my house longer. I really appreciated this. I would have liked to have more options given to me for staining colors than were provided, but I also could have made this more clear in my communication with Will. Overall, I was very pleased with the work that was done and my floors are beautiful! I highly recommend this company.

Both Robert and Jennifer were extremely prompt with communication and appointments. Rob came out and gave an estimate and explained the process. He delivered the wood for the repair about a week in advance for it to acclimate, and he went to three different places to find the wood with the right grain. He and Will showed up exactly on time the first day of work. Will did all of the work, and he did an exceptional job. He had to removed damaged wood, make cuts to existing flooring, and integrate new wood into the floor. He then sanded, sealed and gave it a polyurethane finish. I can't believe it's the same floor. I would recommend this company to anyone looking at refinishing their floors. They were polite, prompt, and professional, and their work is excellent.
