I called prior to my appointment and told them my four year old Pom (whom I'd only adopted a short time prior), was very nervous around groomers, and they assured me they were trained in handling nervous dogs. Nonetheless, they somehow knocked out my dog's right upper canine tooth. They told me dog's teeth were in bad shape. Vet said dog's teeth were perfectly healthy. Owner demanded full payment, PLUS tip. I did not pay, and consequently began receiving harrassing, belligerent, and threatening phone calls, at home and at work, even to my boss! Have taken my dog to other groomers since then and they all tell me he is well-behaved and a "sweetheart." Don't know exacly what occurred at DRU (they said they didn't how how it happened), but I do NOT recommend their services because of my dog's tooth loss and trauma, and how they handled it. The wash and cut were okay. I ultimately paid the $35, plus $3.00 tip, to get rid of the phone calls and messages left on my voice mail.
Description of Work: Wash, cut, dry

The dogs looked great when it was done and seemed to be happy. The inside of the groomers left a bit to be desired. And the person who checked them in was not very professional, I was almost too nervous to leave my little guys there. The groomer was done with them in about 90 minutes. I'll probably take my dogs there again if they need to be groomed again.
Description of Work: I took both of my Chihuahuas in to have a full groom - bath, brushing, teeth brushing, anal glands, and nail trim.

We boarded our dogs for a week or two at a time on several occasions. We were on what turned out to be a very skewed barter system with them. In the end they claimed that we owed them hundreds of dollars more than we should have, and the owners were down right nasty about it. In terms of their service before this incident, my dogs did seem to enjoy going there, and I know that their staff was great with the animals. I asked them to cut the nails of both dogs while they were there for a week, and when I picked them up it had never been done (this happened on more than one occasion).
Description of Work: We used Dogs R Us to board our dogs on several occasions. We also used them on occasion for vaccinations and nail trimming.

I have been using Kailien for a long time now. We followed her to Dogs R Us, from another grooming place. I can see that my dogs feel very comfortable with her, they don't get nervous and start to shake and that is why, I use her. I have seen my dogs react differently to other groomers, so I know the difference.
Description of Work: We take our two dogs there to see Kailien Vernon, who gives our dogs a full groom. She shampoos, cuts, trims, and blow dries them.

The length of time they are boarded is pro-rated, so the longer they stay the lower the price. I have two dogs and get half price on the second one since they share a kennel at night for sleeping. Throughout the day they get the run of the facility with access to the indoor & outdoor play areas. Dogs R Us screens new dogs pretty carefully and aggressive dogs are not allowed, and if they are boarding are not permitted to run freely with the other dogs. Alternatively, if you have a small, timid, or older dog, if you ask they will separate them from the big group of younger, larger, rambunctious dogs. (This is not an issue for me as I have two big drooling lab mixes and they LOVE running around and playing with all the other dogs).
Description of Work: Dogs R Us is mainly a doggie daycare but they do boarding, grooming, and sell pet food & supplies as well. I have been taking my dogs there since they opened two years ago and have been very happy with the way my animals (and I) have been treated.
