This is a long story. Scheduling an appointment through the national Comcast/Xfinity "brain" was a nightmare beyond my ability to describe and I give them an F. However, the LOCAL team that arrived to do the work was exceptionally good and they didn't charge us a dime even though they were at our house for an hour and did considerable work. So, in summary, COMMUNICATION with Comcast could not possibly be worse, but the LOCAL BOOTS ON THE GROUND are excellent.

Their internet is pretty reliable. Speeds usually dip in the evening, but that's unavoidable. Their X1 platform is flighty. Had technician need to try 2 boxes on initial setup and had to replace box after two months. That time the technician took 3 boxes to get one that worked. 4 hour appointment windows are ridiculous. The customer service people are totally incompetent. We were charged $70 for them to replace the box. RIDICULOUS, since it is THEIR equipment, which we are renting, that FAILED. After "discussing" with them over the phone, they said the $70 would be credited. Lo and behold, after being taken off, it was BACK! So, another call, another assurance it was taken off, and WHAM, there it is taken out of our bank accout. A third call and we are assured a $70 credit will appear on NEXT month's bill. Thanks, idiots. They charge outrageous prices for everything, are bordering on criminal on charging for repairing THEIR faulty equipment (if you rented and apartment and the stove - owned by the apartment owner - conked out, would you like to be charged for him to come replace it?), and if you want to do anything other than order service, they fight you tooth and nail and can't even do what they agree to do. Where is fair competition when you need it?

The service was performed by mail-i attached new modem per their instructions. They charge a fee for a live person to come out. way too much money for a service call.

When we had a change in household employment, I was impressed that the Comcast agent gave us flexibility on our package--I learned it's best to bundle, even if you don't need a home phone, it will save you more than if you ordered just internet or just cable TV! We have been pleased with Infinity service.

I called comcast customer service to arrange to have my tv/internet service transferred to my new home. The gentleman I spoke with, Shandy, was extremely helpful and courteous. He managed to get us into a new customer plan because it was a new address at a cheaper price then we were previously paying. He also arranged to have all the installation fees waived and accommodated the install date that worked with our moving date. The entire phone call was very pleasant and Shandy was excellent to work with. He also gave me his personal voicemail so that I can call him at anytime if I have any questions or concerns. Since we are moving we considered going with another provider but the service and prices received from Comcast can't be beat. When I inquired about getting a free trial period of HBO and streampix Shandy included both free for 2 years as well as 50 mbps internet free for 3 months. He made sure our plan had no contract which was something that we wanted. Comcast made one less thing stressful during a very stressful move.

I found out after switching my to Comcast that most fax machines are not compatible with Comcast, so not only did I lose the use of my fax, I also lost the use of my security system (it was not compatible either). When i called Comcast to try to get some help, the woman said, "Is your fax cable plugged into the wall?" Really? All attempts to get help were useless. I cancelled my Comcast service and am trying to switch back to CenturyLink, but now I found out that Comcast cut out and removed my internal house phone wiring without my permission! Now I have to rewire my house!! I am getting rid of Comcast forever!

Called for Comcast home alarm installation. They provide service but require a 3 YEAR contract. Most (NOT all) companies seem to require that. Yah, it drops the per month cost same way cell phone contracts do, I get that. BUT, I can take my cell phone service with me if I move. I can't take my home alarm service with me if I move. I'm not going to commit to give them 30 plus dollars a month for alarm monitoring for 3 years. What if I don't like the service, what if I move? This is sooo tilted in favor of the alarm companies and away from the consumer it's absurd. A scam. There are companies who offer non contract installation and monitoring. I have an appointment with Mountain Alarm who will work that way. Alternately, Angies lists companies who have a self install wireless system and offer non contract pricing.

I have been looking for a reputable ISP since I have moved into the Sandy area back in February 2013. Comcast has sent me a few adds so I thought I would look into them. Essentially, it is the typical BAIT and SWITCH game with them. They will lure you in and then later double or triple your price. I am looking for a quality broadband provider with the integrity to provide a stable price that will not change significantly over time, not simply an intro rate. I understand that Comcast has one of the best broadband products here in the Salt Lake Valley, but it is not the deal they would like to make you believe. What I did like is Comcast is offering month to month plans without a 1 or 2 year contract. Given a choice I will never sign on to a lengthy contract again for phone, t.v., or internet services. . . . COMCAST...Offer me an affordable plan that will not become significantly more expensive in 1 or 2 years!!! You have lost me as a prospective customer.

Comcast changes the billing rates without explanation. The account is in my wife (Amber's) name, and she has complained often. They usually offer reduced prices, and promise better service, but then go back to the higher price on the next billing cycle. when my wife calls to complain, no one seems to know anything about the lower price agreement. This has happened several times.

They refused to give credit for the many months of service that was not there even though we paid for it. They are already overpriced, and they do not give credit for poor service. I take part of the blame for not complaining sooner, but it was obvious that the problem existed for many months (the filter was there for 2.5 years, but the problem cropped up over six months ago. They must have changed an operating parameter causing the filter to be a problem, while it was not previously.) I had to contact them multiple times to get poor customer service in the end. I must give high regards to the technician though.
Description of Work: A technician fixed the problem that existed for many months by removing a filter. A filter was installed on the outside of our house allowing us to have no reception over channel 125 even though we paid for those channels. I didn't complain about the problem until last month, but it was obviously there for many months because the filter did not just "appear" there.

I was sent a modem to set up the phone myself. I received the wrong modem - it had no phone connection in back. I was told to go to the Miller St office and the new modem would be waiting for me. It was a long way from my home so I decided to ring first to see if it was indeed waiting for me there. I was told that that sort of modem is never at customer service offices, it has to be sent to you. In all I was about 21 days without a phone. The 2 full days I devoted to setting up the phone myself were a nightmare. I have never rung Comcast when the message doesn't say, and quot; Due to a high volume of calls...and quot; I was transferred twice and lost the connection after waiting between 30 and 60 minutes on both occasions to talk to someone. One time I was on the phone for nearly 2 hours. The responsiveness is zilch. CenturyLink are positively hyper responsive in comparison. I would like to go back to them.
Description of Work: I recently switched from CenturyLink to Comcast and hence now have a digital phone service, as well as Comcast's internet and cable.

It went great. My 3 cable connections were down. Tech was here on time and had the problem fixed very quickly ( my fault ) The line amplifier is plugged into a GFI switch which I had blown earlier that day. I felt really stupid, but tech was very nice and told me it was his job and not to worry about it.

With every other company I have done business with, when I ask for Customer Service, they give me customer service. With Comcast, they refuse to put you through to Customer SErvice until you have made a payment. Is it legal for them to do that? When they say that you are going to get Customer SErvice by calling a certain number, shouldn't you get Customer service and not payments? I don't trust them anymore. They are overated and over-priced, but unfortunately, someone in my family signed up for a year's service with my husband, moved out, and I got stuck with the bill. I hope you can find a way to warn other people. also to let Comcast know how unprofessional this whole experience was .
Description of Work: I paid my Comcast bill of $200.00 at a self-service kiosk . This was on 7/17/12 . The self-service maching scanned my check so that a debit could be made from my checking account. This was at Comcast, 752 Marshall Way, West Valley City, UT.I felt confident that my bill had been paid because the kiosk printed out a receipt for $200.00.This was the second time I had used this machine. I liked it.I kept checking my bank account online, and after two weeks the debit had not cleared.I received a letter from Comcast, 9602 S 300 W Sandy on about July 30th. The letter stated that my banking account had been charged and that Comcast had not been able to deduct money from my account, so they were charging me with additional returned payment.I called my bank at once and we checked my accounts. Comcast had not deducted any money from my account.WE realized that Comcast had charged somebody else for my $200.00! No wonder it was returned unpaid.I then took a closer look at the kiosk reciept and sure enough someone else's bank account number printed out on my receipt. I wanted to let Comcast customer service know what had happened, so I called 801 485 0500 and asked for customer service. The man who answered my call refused to put me through to Customer Service, until I paid my bill. I tried three times to explain what had happened to let him know how serious it is to deduct money from the wrong person's bank account. He was not interested in hearing about this and kept trying to collect the payment. In the end . I just hung up on him, so disappointed at his lack of concern.
