I have never been so incensed that I felt it necessary to write a scathing review of a business until now. Class One was contracted to do mold remediation work in a basement that had been flooded. The estimates came in fine and work started fine, but at the end, people just left the jobsite without cleaning up. Tools were left, plastic was everywhere, and ZipWalls were left up blocking the basement from the rest of the house. Despite repeated phone calls, I could not get anyone to come out and collect the materials and I was left cleaning up the mess with my guys. The bid was for 1200+ and I had paid 50% up front. I figured they would get around to calling me back and billing me the last 50% when they felt it was worth there while to come collect their tools. Sadly, not only did they never call me, email me, or make any attempt to send me an invoice, they decided that it was easier just sent me right to collections. ....FOR 100% MORE than what the balance should have been ($1180). I found out when I applied for a loan. I called their office a dozen times only to get a nice secretary who couldnt help me herself but PROMISED an owner would call me back. Nope..nothing. I sent the owners emails...nothing. The only people who got back to me were the lawyers. It was truly a maddening experience. We ended up settling for $800.which is still 200 more than what I should have had to pay. To make matters worse I had proposed that solution in an email to the owner MONTHS before, but got nothing in response. It was as if they were too ashamed at themselves to actually call me or contact me and just felt it was easier to rake my credit score over the coals. In short, these guys are crooks. They come off OK in the beginning but I have never dealt with such a staggering display of unprofessionalism.

Response from Class One Disaster Recovery
In summary, this is a client who did not want to pay his bill. Now that he is finally being forced to, he is attempting to retaliate by writing negative reviews of our work. The longer explanation about this particular job is that when we originally drew up an estimate for Member, we made it clear to him that because he did not want an invasive investigation (due to cost), once we began the job and opened up the walls, the initial estimate could rise if we found more damage. As soon as that in fact did happen, we stopped work, communicated the situation with him, and he gave us permission to continue even though he expressly knew that it would cost more. Once the work was completed, then he complained of a higher bill even though he had agreed to it. He drug out paying his bill for a very long time, and as I mentioned, we finally just recently settled this account. If we could have done anything more to clear up any misunderstandings or miscommunication, we certainly would have. Class One Disaster Recovery is a solid, quality company and we stand by our work and policies.
