Description of Work: A rep came in to give us a bid for an addition on our house. He was very straight forward and even walked through our existing house with ideas and tips about how to prepare it and make it work. He spoke a lot about permits and what to expect, as we were hoping to do some of the work ourselves. He was very upfront and honest about what he could do and when. We aren't doing the addition yet, but when we do, Chimera will definitely be on our short list.

Description of Work: They did a great job on the bathroom they remodeled. The tile and everything there is beautiful. However, they totally messed up and didn't follow directions on the way they were supposed to move a bedroom wall to make a hallway more handicap accessible. They still haven't finished the job. It has been left with just sheetrock on the wall. The light switch in the hallway can only be turned off and on from the inside of the bedroom. It is a mess.

Description of Work: We acted as general contractors in building our own house. We called Chimera and asked for a framing bid. They promised a bid within four days. But first, they tried to persuade us not to general the job ourselves. They wanted us to hire them to build the entire house. In the next week, they called us two or three times trying to tell us that we could not general the house ourselves, And that we needed their help. We repeatedly insisted that we were fine--that we had ample experience and a retired general contractor to assist us--and only wanted a framing bid. They were very pushy, condescending and rude, not to mention unprofessional. Then, over a week after their promised date for completing a bid, they called to tell us that there bid would be ready within four or five days. We told them to forget it, they were all ready over a week late. We found an excellent framer and also completed building the rest of our house with no major issues. And it is beautiful!

Description of Work: I got an estimate from Chimera Construction, LLC about a month ago for remodeling my bathroom.

Description of Work: Travis tore out the old deck, and built a completely new deck. The quality of the new deck is superb. It is the best engineered deck I've seen. Travis went the extra mile in the quality of construction and detail work. There was no scrimping or shortcuts taken. The beveled top rail of the deck was a terrific addition. He applied flashing where the deck joined the house, where we had experienced water getting inside the home over the years, in a manner that shows his knowledge and experience with this type of problem. I doubt very much, that we will have a similiar problem in the future. Travis also had the entire exterior, metal siding, properly prepped and painted with two coats, and made some repairs to the chimney casing on the roof. All the work was done as promised and in an exemplary fashion. He also tore out and replaced some wallboard in the basement that had been water damaged and textured the ceiling, repaired some minor wallboard damage near the chimney. I am completely happy with the results of all the work done. I would hire Chimera Construction to do work on my rentals in the future with complete confidence.

Description of Work: Tore down and rebuilt approx. 500 sq ft addition from top to bottom. This involved pouring a new foundation, framing, electrical, insulation, heating/cooling, drywall, windows, roofing, and more. Chimera Construction also completely remodeled our bathroom, flooring, kitchen, deck, and built concrete and wood ramps. Chimera Construction was the general contractor and did much of the work themselves.

Description of Work: Tyler and Travis first did work for me in 2009 when I had my deck remodeled. My deck was not very practical for a variety of reasons, mainly because I could not comfortably seat 8 people at a table on the deck, secondly my brother in law being paraplegic could not get on the deck by himself nor gain entry to the house. Tyler and Travis met us and laid out about four potential routes to remodel the deck with a ramp for my brother in law with estimates for each potential design as well as advantages and lack thereof for each design. To keep costs down we decided on a hybrid deck meaning a Trex no maintenance surface with redwood railings. They started the deck right on schedule and completed the deck when they said they would. The deck is beautiful, very sturdy, and I can lean against the rails and they support my entire weight. They used 4x4 support beams with concrete and steel footings. Furthermore they used a redwood stain with 2 coats. The deck makes our house look larger and my brother in law can get in our house without my wife or myself being here. The deck has 2 levels with the ramp accessible from either level and stairs to both levels. Tyler and Travis came right in on their bid. The deck is so nice and sturdy and the workmanship exceptional that they so EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS, THEIR ATTENTION TO DETAIL WAS TRULY EXCEPTIONAL THAT I FELT THEY DESERVED SO MUCH MORE THAN THEIR ORIGINAL BID. Come July 2010 Travis and Tyler remodeled our master bath and bedroom. The master bath had mushrooms growing in it, was riddled with dry rot and was leaking into the garage. The load bearing support beam in the bath and bedroom was literally sagging and would have eventually collapsed had I done nothing. Tyler and Travis designed a plan that would make our master bed and bath bigger along with his and her sinks and vanities a walk in closet for my wife with room for a make up table to boot along with a gorgeous porch and stairwell leading down to the backyard and hot tub. The furniture, vanities, shelving, drawers, cabinets, shower, and pantries were all custom built by Tyler and Travis. They FAR EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS AND THEIR ATTENTION TO DETAIL IS EXTRAORDINARY! Tyler and Travis put in a heated floor that is oh so nice! Tyler and Travis put in a suntunnel in the bathroom that lights up the bathroom to save energy. Tyler and Travis put in a beautiful glass shower door that opens both ways. There is a beautiful custom built wood frame around the top of the shower tile that makes the shower look that much richer. The master bedroom now has a vaulted ceiling with recessed lighting that makes it look that much bigger. There are 2 beautiful window seats custom made of vertical pine one of which looks upon the mountains. The porch has rails of douglass fir with a redwood stain and a beautiful cedar roof that needs to be seen to be believed. The floor of the porch has Trex as well as the stairs. THE TWO CHIMERAS LEFT NOTHING TO CHANCE, ARE VERY DETAIL ORIENTED, AND FAR EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS AND I CONSIDER MY EXPECTATIONS FAIRLY HIGH. GET THESE CHIMERAS IF YOU WANT A JOB BEYOND WELL DONE! CHANGELINGS THEY TRULY ARE!!!

Description of Work: We have had Travis and Tyler do several large jobs for us. We had them frame and finish drywall a 900sq ft basement . In the basement remodel they installed new windows , doors, case and baseboard. They installed new tile on the floor and tub surroud in the bath. The Workmanship was exceptional and I felt like I was getting my monies worth and then some. We also had them do a concrete front porch with new carved wood handrails and stairs. The ideas they provided helped me get a really beautiful porch that just set off the front of the house. We were very pleased with all our dealings with them, they were clean, on time and very reasonably priced for the quality they provided.
