Buehner Marble & Granite

Gave me an estimate on granite countertops that was much less than other competitors. Didn't end up going with them but they seemed like a good company.

gave estimate off of a plan for the u shaped kitchen. Came and gave estimate after cabinets were in. Explained changes necessary - ie granite came in a standard width so that measurement changed. The countertop was supposed to overhang at end so a barstool could be used there. When estimator measured he omited the overhang in the measurement. I signed the estimate not realizing the measurement had been changed. When the granite came the countertop did not extend over the end of the cabinets. The work looked good and I accepted the work. After the installers left I realized the problem and tried to reach Half Price Granite but there was no answer.I called repeatedly for 3 weeks. I was told multiple times that they would make me happy but the person I needed to talk to was in the hospital. Finally about 4 weeks later I was told that they could do nothing to help me because it had been so long that the granite could not be matched. The countertops are ok but not as expected. The lights that hang above them are not centered because of the lack of overhang and of course we can not use a barstool at the end. Whoever I talked to at Half Priced Granite during the 3 weeks in December was very nice and always assured me that something would be done but the axe man in the end was very disrespectful and treated me very unfairly. The bathroom turned out very well.

Original estimate and diagram as per our desire. "Templater" templated job 8" short. Told us that the overhang would be a different dimension but did not state that he had omitted the overhang on the end. I signed the form OKing the work. When installed, the countertop was not as per the original bid. They told me for 2 months that they would make me happy but in the end they just left me with a countertop that was too short. They would not return my phone calls during those 2 months. Not the end of the world but my lights were centered over the original bar and I spent a lot of money on something I am not happy with. The bathroom countertop was fine.

Both we and general contractor were here when they came to measure. They took measurements of the counters beneath the countertops, along with the size of the overhang. They cut the counter top short on one end. We immediately complained but it took 3 weeks to get a response from someone who could make a decision. In the mean time, all finish work and electrical in the kitchen was forced to stop. Finally, after many telephone calls, they told us that they would not correct the problem and said that the problem was all our fault. We tried to be reasonable with them, and our general contractor called them, but they continued to refuse to do anything to fix the problem.

Fantastic. They worked with us on the choice of material and where we got it from. It was not their usual supplier but they let us use it instead. I was told they would get the job done quicker than they did but they were only few days off because of the difficulty of our through niches. They were more than fair with the buyback on the material.
