Description of Work: Black Diamond Electric had a special offer, thru Angie's List, for $30 to check electrical outlets in your home for any problems. It was a general inspection to identify any potential problems needing attention and that would require follow up appointments to repair. It was not meant to do any repairs of problems just identify problems. I have an intermittent problem with grounding on a circuit so I signed up for the offer knowing I would need additional appointments for any corrective actions. I just wanted someone to look at the issue and give me an idea and estimate of what needed to be done. |After a couple miscommunications on the first appointment time we rescheduled for another appointment and someone did show up for it. I explained the problem I was having and he again explained the limits of what was being offered in the overview. He did identify and grounding problem on a circuit and a problem with the power cord on a refrigerator. We scheduled a follow up appointment for a couple weeks away for him to take a closer look at the circuit issue and replace the power cord on the fridge. |The technician appeared very knowledgeable and was thorough in what he did check in the house and garage. He explained possible options and costs involved. I agreed with him and set up a follow up appointment for a couple weeks away. I never heard from him/them again. I called the Black Diamond office to find out what was going on and they didn't know anything about the follow up appointment. It sounded like the technician never told their dispatch/scheduling people about the appointment. I opted to not schedule another appointment with Black Diamond after these experiences. For each appointment I had to make special arrangements with my work for time off. I could not afford to schedule more time off and not have anyone show up again. |Before I bought the inspection offer I read reviews from people's experiences with Black Diamond. They were positive and that's why I went with the offer. I believe Black Diamond is competent and knows what they are doing. My experience seems to be an isolated instance. |

Description of Work: Our electrical panel burned up. Contractor setup temporary power quickly, then replaced entire panel. Very professional.

Description of Work: I ordered and paid for the service but my work got crazy and I never followed up with them. My fault - not theirs.

Description of Work: For the inspection, they were very honest in telling me there really were no major issues with the wiring of the house. There were some minor things such as not having inter connected fire alarms, a plug that should be GFI that wasn't, a double tap in the box, and a few loose junction boxes. I decided to get that all fixed and they did a good job and managed to install the fire alarms without causing any visible drywall damage.

Description of Work: Replaced meter/breaker box and breaker switches. Unfortunately, the Buy It Now price of $849 only covers basic inside the house breaker boxes. Where our breaker box is a combo/meter box, the price basically doubled. They did good work and everything was installed professionally and grounded properly. I asked about having AFCI breaker switches installed to bring the house electrical up to code and was told that could be done at no extra charge, but unfortunately that wasn't communicated to the install team so only regular breakers were installed.

Description of Work: Repaired an outdoor outlet and installed new outlet in our basement. Great job, no complaints!

Description of Work: They had to replace the whole outside electrical panel, breakers and meter, which included coordinating with the power company to shut off the power. They also inspected and tightened all the outlets and installed 5 smoke/C02 detectors, added 3 outlets and motion detector lights on the outside of my garage. Did a very nice job and found a $100 Angie's List coupon we could use.

Description of Work: Just came out to give an estimate on electrical work to be done. Found the electrician, Nick, to be very professional and he took the time to explain things to me so I understood. I felt like he was honest about the work that needed to be done. I am planning to call them soon to do the work.
