Ultimately, we didn't need a water heater flush, we needed a new water heater because ours was cracked inside. The worker pointed that out, still did the flush just to be sure, and made some suggestions as to what needed to be done. Overall a great interaction.

Josh was an amazing electrician - arrived on time, and within 30 minutes, he diagnosed the problem of electrical surges inside kitchen that destroyed 3 microwaves by running surge tests in electrical panel. He determined that voltage was inconsistent which indicated a possible problem with the electrical panel. He ordered the new panel and stayed on top of things until he was able to return the next week to replace the panel. He performed surge tests to determine that the problem was resolved. Tenant reports that electrical is working great. Thank you Josh!

The electrician discovered several safety concerns and worked hard to bring my basement up to code. The project greatly ballooned due to the previous contractor's problems but Michael w/ BDE clearly explained everything and competently resolved all issues.

Rob arrived on time, let me watch as he diagnosed and fixed the problem with my squeeling furnace blower, answered my questions, and throughout was pleasant, efficient, and knowledgable. He explained the problem with the blower fan in a way I understood and showed it to me, got a replacement part, came back, installed it, and tested it, all within the same afternoon. He also showed me how to clean the A/C condenser outside and explained how to do it safely. While we were outside, I also mentioned a possible water leak I was worried about in my sprinkler system shutoff valve, and in two minutes he figured out that the problem was actually not having the valve all the way open, so a trickle from a weep hole (which I didn't know existed until he told me about it) was making the puddle that worried me. Opening the valve fully solved the problem. His insight saved me a lot of effort and money, and I really appreciate it! I will definitely use Black Diamond the next time I need repairs or maintenance on my heating, A/C, or plumbing.

They have an excellent technology solution to keeping you informed about the status of their technicians. I was considering converting my two gas water heaters to electric. Black Diamond provided me with an experienced electrician to estimate the costs of the electric work alone, then provided me with a plumber to evaluate the costs of installation of the water heaters. After looking at all that was involved in my situation I decided to remain with gas water heaters. Black Diamond helped me to make certain that I had the most energy efficient systems. I am very satisfied with their work.

When I called the receptionist was very helpful. Got me setup up with an appointment with in minutes for the same day. The technician was just a bit earlier than the appointment time. Replace the part same day. Will reach out again to this company. What I liked was the promptness of the service. Replaced a capacitor.

Black Diamond provided possibly the best customer service I have ever experienced. Chris replaced the transformer on our furnace. He said he felt our furnace was going out, and could happen soon. 30 minutes after he left, our furnace did go out. When I called him, I expected to hear that they would reschedule. Nope, he turned his vehicle around and came back. They replaced my furnace that very day. Corbyn and Murphy came at 7:00 that evening, and got the job done. They deducted the amount I paid for the first service call from the invoice, and within minutes I had a written bid and invoice on my email. I am so impressed with this company! I will never call another HVAC company, and neither should you.

Todd from Black Diamond Electric did a fantastic job installing 4 ceiling fans for us. He also installed a switch and also replaced a breaker panel screw. He was prompt and professional, and the price was reasonable. We will gladly call Black Diamond for our future needs.

I scheduled a two hour window with this company for an estimate to have some plumbing work done. I arranged to take time off from work to be home for the tech to provide an estimate. The tech did not show up, and I was not even contacted or given any explanation for the delay. If this company cannot show up to provide an estimate as agreed, I would be concerned about them showing up to complete a job.

The air conditioner is working fine now. Todd Figgins, the Black Diamond HVAC technician, did a very good job checking out the system, changing the filter, and cleaning the outside unit. He told me that the blower and inside coil were also in need of cleaning but that those jobs could wait till the autumn. Todd was knowledgeable, efficient, and personable. I was able to use a $50 coupon, also.

I couldn't be happier with Chris Sr. The valve to the bathtub was stuck in the wall and he had a real struggle to get it out. The work he did was wonderful, and he was careful to care for my property. Black Diamond is who I call when I need plumbing, heating and electric.

Black Diamond and Justin were amazing. Our furnace went out late in the night and it was freezing outside. Justin was there the next afternoon with a new furnace. He installed the furnace one day and the air conditioner the next day (ours was 25 years old and on its last legs). They made sure we were getting the right equipment and quality for our home. Black Diamond quickly helped us with financing and we were warm again in no time. Extremely professional. Great work. The furnace has been in for a couple of months and runs like a dream. Would hire again any time.

My tenant called and said the sink was leaking. Based on Angie's list, I called Black Diamond. They were able to get to the job the next day and found that the faucet needed to be replaced. I gave the go-ahead and then called the office and asked for a discount or coupon off the original estimate (doesn't hurt to ask) They promptly and courteously gave me a good discount just for asking. My tenant is pleased with the work and they were professional and courteous throughout. I will call them again for plumbing needs.

We moved to SLC from Philadelphia and didn't know any electricians. Because we used Angie's list successfully in Philly, we tried Angie's list here. Black Diamond was highly recommended. Kyle, the technician, was very responsive and informative in addressing a punch list of inspector recommended fixes (plugs that needed grounding, smoke detector fixes, etc.) when we purchased the condo. We will definitely use Black Diamond again.

Excellent experience. Chris came promptly for the bid, and then checked to see if anyone was finishing early that day since we were leaving the following Monday. He scheduled us for 4pm, but unfortunately there was an unexpected water leak which took priority. Chris called to apologise and said they would come early Monday morning and install the unit before we left and offered a $50 discount for our inconvenience, very fair. Justin came on Monday and was friendly, worked efficiently and cleaned up well. Will use again.

After initial appt with young gentlemen smelling of cigarettes, I called to speak to the manager. This was Jared who was so helpful in the past ...and the reason I rebooked Black Diamond. We have another appt scheduled with another technician.

Tech was very respectful to both me and my wife. Explained things very well. Determined that it was just a bad flame sensor. Rapidly fixed the problem and we were back up and running. We called, and they came out the same day. We're very happy.

Repaired Since my home is older, it would have been a major job to install a new faucet—-it would have involved ripping out part of the inside ceiling. I opted for a repair instead.

The Black Diamond electrician, Brian, was great. A faulty Ring unit and complications with the existing equipment (an intercom system tied to the doorbell) made this project more complicated than it should have been. Brian diagnosed the problem with the Ring unit, went to Home Depot and exchanged it for one that worked. We needed a new transformer and door chime, both of which Brian purchased and installed. After all that, the unit stopped operating very soon after Brian left. I phoned him the next morning and he came out the following day. Turns out the magnet in the old intercom speaker apparently "fried" the transformer and the new doorbell chime fried with it. Brian quickly diagnosed the problem, went and bought a new transformer and door chime, came back and installed them. Then to be doubly sure everything else was all right he inspected all existing wiring in the doorbell housing and in the wall unit in the kitchen where the intercom was located. He replaced all frayed or suspect wires, and put insulated connectors on all connections in both places. For good measure he removed all of the internal components of the intercom leaving only the facade to cover the hole in the wall. To top it all, even though our existing equipment contributed to the problem, there was no charge for the 2-3 hours of work required for the second day's service call. It was covered under Black Diamond's warranty policy. I can be hard to please and hold people to a pretty high standard. Brian was terrific and he exceeded my expectations.

Chris was really great at diagnosing the problem. Turned out we had two problems so he had to run around getting one part and then when a courier got the other part he came back later in the day and put it in. He even gave us a better coupon than the one we had. Because the whole problem was caused by a power surge he suggested trying to get reimbursed from the power company. We'll see how that goes.
