+ -1 moreCottonwood Custom performed excellent quality work, completed in one day. Recommended buffing and applying a second coat next year that should last for several years. Anticipating on using them again to do that.
Description of Work: Deck restoration. Replaced bad boards, tighten loose boards, sanded and smoothed entire deck and railing, applied redwood stain/sealer.

+ -1 moreI called awnings unlimited for a quote for a simple awning job. Someone name Chris showed up late to the appointment but he was really cheery and seemingly willing to help. After we spoke I was told that I would be notified later that day of how much the work would cost. It's a week later and I haven't heard anything. I call and leave messages and still no response. Once I actually got in contact and was told they would have to call me back, still nothing. Needless to say, If i called the project must be very important to me. I guess that doesn't matter so much to Awnings unlimited.
Description of Work: Nothing, Awnings unlimited did absolutely nothing.

Description of Work: A representative came out to my house to measure and show me colors and types of awnings. He was very friendly and professional. There was no pressure to purchase from him and I felt very relaxed having him be at my house and discussing the Awnings.

+ -1 moreThe company designed and installed a 9' x 32' freestanding steel carport roof to our specifications. They were very clear about the price, materials, and schedule. The entire job was completed with high quality in only 8 or 10 hours total work time, with a crew of two the first day for the concrete footings and steel posts and a crew of three to complete the roof, two days after they installed the footings and posts. My only complaint was that after installing the posts, they did not communicate as to when they would return to install the roof. I phoned and they told me that they would be out the next morning, which they were.

+ -1 moreOverall, I'm extremely satisfied with the whole process. One con would have to be the price of the lattices, which is an add on, and that is the price of $300 per lattice. So if you do one side it would cost $600, cause it's 2 per side. So if you did 2 sides it would be $1200. That's way to much money in my opinion. I did go ahead and get just one in the middle, which adds a little more detail to the whole thing.
Description of Work: Called Awnings Unlimited based on a friends recommendation. Scheduled a visit for an estimate. Roger came over and was very pleasant and professional. He took some measurements, showed me some pictures of all the different awnings they carried. My wife, and I already had in mind what we wanted which was the Newport model. He gave me a "winter" discount, plus $200 off if I went ahead with the order right then and there. I felt a little worried, just as anyone would due to such a big purchase. Had the install 2 weeks later for a Saturday, which is not their normal working hours, but they made arrangements so that this would be possible. So this is another plus. The day before the install, I was received phone confirmation that the installation was in fact on schedule. I thought this was professional. The next day, they came right on time, as stated. There were 2 people that did the install. They were very professional as well, as they had all the tools needed, had their own water (even though we offer drinks), and their own food. So they didn't leave the job site. They got to work very diligently, and about 6 hours later they finished. All I can say is wow, the awning looks great, amazing even. Gave the patio a whole new look. I don't know if the Newport, is the best, but it looks like best.

+ -1 moreWe had issues with the installation of the awnings and patio cover. They had to come out 3 different times to get the patio cover installed correctly. They sent one man out for a 3 man job. They sent out a different man each time to install/fix the patio cover. It was very inconvenient to us to have them come out multiple times. We are happy with the product and materials of the awnings and patio cover, but disappointed with the service.
Description of Work: We had awnings installed on our windows and a new patio cover installed.

+ -1 moreWHEN THE SALESMAN CAME TO OUR HOUSE TO TAKE THE ORDER AND DEPOSIT ALONG WITH THE MEASUREMENT WAS FINE. HE SAID IT WOULD TAKE ABOUT A COUPLE DAYS. THEN HE CALLED A FEW DAYS LATER AND STATED IT WOULD BE A WHILE LONGER, WHICH WAS FINE WITH US. HE CALLED ME AT WORK ON 3/20/06 and STATED THEY WOULD START RIGHT THEN. I WANTED TO BE THERE OR HAVE SOEMONE THERE WHILE THE WORK WAS DONE. A LITTLE NOTICE WOULD HAVE BEEN APPRECIATED. I WENT HOME AND THE AWNING WAS INSTALLED. I NOTICED 2 LARGE SAGS BETWEEN THE BEAMS. IT LEAKED WHERE THE AWNING MET THE HOUSE AND THE GARAGE IN NUMEROUS PLACES. AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS TO REACH OUR SALESMAN WE DECIDED TO CALL A DIFFERENT SALESMAN. OUR SALESMAN WOULD NOT RETURN OUR CALLS and THE FEW TIEMS HE DID HE STATED THE SAGS WERE NOT HIS PROBLEM AND THE LEAKS WERE BECAUSE OF OUR ROOF. FINALLY IN MAY THE SAGS WERE FIXED BY AWNINGS UNLIMITED. THE LEAKS WERE FIXED BY SOMEONE ELSE. WE WERE TIRED OF TRYING TO GET ISSUES RESOLVED THRU AWNINGS UNLIMITED. OVERALL IT WAS BAD.
Description of Work: AWNING WAS ORDERED ON 3/20/06, THE INSTALLATION WAS CANCELLED NUMEROUSE TIMES BY THE COMPANY. AWNING WAS INSTALLED ON 4/5/06. AWNING HAD 2 LARGE SAGS AND LEAKS WHERE IT WAS CONNECTED TO THE HOUSE & GARAGE. AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT SALESMAN, AND WAS TOLD BY THE SALESMAN THE SAGS WERE NOT A PROBLEM TO HIM. FINALLY CONTACTED ANOTHER SALESMAN TO HAVE REPAIRS DONE. THE SAGS WERE FIXED. THE LEAKS WERE NOT FIXED. WE HAD TO HAVE SOEMONE ELSE DO THAT.
