American Chem-Dry

I am not usually one to write reviews but I felt I needed to write this one to prevent a similar experience for someone else. We had them do a basic cleaning of two rooms and stairs. They seemed very much in a hurry and finished much quicker than any other carpet cleaner we have hired. The person that cleaned the carpets was friendly and did try to up sell us to a more expensive service. We declined because we were planning to replace the carpet soon. When the job was done everything seemed fine while the carpet was wet, but once it dried it looked as though it had not been cleaned at all. When we called to discuss this with the manager, he said they basically only steam clean the carpets unless you purchase the additional cleaner. This was not fully explained to us at the time of the original cleaning, we were given the impression that a basic cleaning would satisfactory. After several minutes of debate he agreed to come back and re clean the carpet. They arrived for the re clean two hours later than what was scheduled and were clearly not happy they had to return. It was the same person from last time and when I began to show the areas that I was not satisfied with he tried to up sell me to the cleaning solutions again. I said this feels like a bait and switch where you quote a low price but only can get clean carpet if you purchase the soap which should come with a carpet cleaning service in the first place. He said he was not the boss. At this point I decided to call the boss to discuss the service they provided. When the boss got on the phone he was very annoyed and again tried to explain that I had to pay extra for the soap to clean the carpets. This is where I have a problem with this company because I have hired several other carpet cleaning services for about the same price as their "basic cleaning" and was very happy with the result. When I tried to explain this to him he said my wife was happy with the service and I must be someone who just can't be pleased. My wife was not home for the second service so she could not let them know she was not happy with the result either. I understand that as a business owner you can't be perfect all the time. But it is how you handle your mistakes and dissatisfied customers that build a great business. If he would have been straight with me from the beginning or just taken care of the issue the second time without insult, I would be writing a positive review instead of this one.

The Chem Dry service is more like a steam cleaning, but it's dry.

They do an excellent job, get all the stains out.

They did a very good job, and I liked them. The work was quite thorough, and the carpets were cleaned better than the previous people I used. The quality of work was good, and the price was reasonable. I would rate them highly.

The cleaners from Chem-Dry are really good at getting stains out. They do a good job with the carpet. They do what I ask of them and I have been very pleased with them. They are a little expensive, but they do quality work and they are very responsive. I would use them again. I also think they are punctual and professional.

We had our carpets done. We were pleased with the quality of the work. However, the things they did that we thought were included in the cost were actually extra. They never informed us what this extra work was going to cost they just asked if we wanted.
