The repairman was polite, friendly, professional and competent. He got the problem fixed quickly and with a minimum of difficulty. I even had the benefit of an Angie's List coupon that saved me a little money. All in all a very good experience. I'd definitely call this company again, and hope for the same repairman.

I woke to a broken furnace in a freezing house during below freezing temps. I called a handful of companies with 24 hour service & Affordable was the first and fastest to respond. They are very straight forward and never try to upsell. He went out of his way to help me with no extra charge. They are a pleasure to work with and Have gained my trust and lifetime loyalty.

Harold came and gave an estimate. 2 weeks later they spent a day here removing the old and installing a new furnace. at first it made a funny noise. they were quick to come back a couple days later to rectify the issue. I am happy with the service and product.

Harold and his crew are professional, hard-working, and easy to deal with. We were given several cost estimates, based on different units, and explained the differences between them. Our attic bedroom was unbearably cold in the winter and hot in the summer. He gave us the option of installing the special heat pump unit and explained how it worked. It has been absolutely amazing! I have lived in the house for 12 years and have never been so comfortable. I cannot emphasize enough how easy Harold is to work with. No sales pressure, explains everything, and listens to all of your concerns. I couldn't believe all the great reviews on Angie's list, but they were absolutely accurate!

This was a great experience! I owned a real estate company in another state for many years and have dealt with many contractors. Harold Bunting of Affordable Heating and Air Conditioning was tops in professionalism and courtesy. Harold was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. He reviewed the situation and covered the alternatives and the prices and let me choose what was best for me. His crew showed up exactly on time and got right to work. They said they would finish by approximately 3:30 p.m. and they finished by 3:20. Everything was left in order and perfectly clean. His crew was courteous and very efficient. I asked questions throughout the day (I like to know what is going on and why) and they answered the questions courteously and obviously knew what they were doing. Harold asked me to call if I had any questions and he returned two weeks later to insure things were working well. I strongly recommend Harold Bunting and Affordable Heating and Air Conditioning.

Harold came out to give me a bid on my job. He was very down to earth and knowledgable and low preasure. He gave several options and beat my other 2 bids by $1200 to $2400 depending on the systems. However it did not stop there. The service was great his installers were very polite, professional and knowledgable as well. I called on Thursday afternoon he schedule me on that Monday then was able to show up on Friday afternoon to get me up and running on a hot day. Job was finishsed on that Monday as promised. His installers when the extra mile and did a few extras with my humidifer and water heater that I would not have expected. I highly recommend Afforable Heating and Cooling. I am a happy customer.

Harold Bunting paid us a visit along with other providers to give an estimate for replacement of our home's original central A/C unit that had expired during the recent heat wave in SLC during August. Besdes being prompt for his appointment Harold was attentive to our wishes and did not oversell a replacement A/C unit or that of a new furnace which we concluded was also in need of replacing. Harold's quote was very competitive and his team was able to schedule us the following Monday after we made our provider selection the Friday before. His installation team (Kurt and Robert) were similarly prompt and attentive to assure that they worn foot coverings and protected the carpeting down to our basement from any damage or dirt. They worked diligently for +6 hours finishing the removal and replacement job in the promised day's time. We were especially pleased that Affordable H&C did not require a deposit and in fact insisted that payment only be made after a return inspection visit by Harold to assure that the installation was to code and properly done.

Everything went very well. Harold (Affordable's Salesman) came promptly, gave a fair price and let me know exactly what I could expect. He was very patient with me as I waded through other companies estimates. He answered all of my questions promptly, and I felt was very honest. If you ask for his opinion, he will give it to you, even if it's not what you want to hear. He has been in the business for a long time. The installers were hard workers, friendly and professional. No one could match Harold's price. He didn't try to "throw in" any slick gadgets, or other items I didn't need, claiming they were "free" with a particular heating or A/C unit as some other companies did... One thing I want to stress is that Harold was quite honest with me. He didn't try to sell me a more expensive unit and gave his honest opinions on the various systems. A sales person from another large HVAC company told me a bold faced lie that became evident once she thought she had my business. Judging from the reviews about Affordable on Angie's List, and after meeting with Harold, my gut instinct was to go with this company. In the end, I'm very glad I did...

Affordable was very nice and professional. They also worked well with another contractor who had to replace a beam in the basement before the new furnace could be installed. They were punctual, tidy and did a great job overall.

Replaced 60+ year old Lennox with a 95% efficient new Lennox at a rental property. Dealt with Harold who provided the estimate and met with me after job was completed. Both Harold and the two guys who performed the installation were very professional--showed up when they said they would and did a good job leaving the site clean. Plus--they offered the most competitive price!!!

Our air conditioner stopped blowing air effectively. We called in the morning and they came that afternoon which I thought was great service to begin with considering the forecast called for temps above 100 for the next week. The gentelman who came took a panel off where the cooling unit is housed, and saw that it was covered in ice. He recommended we just turn the fan of our unit on and let the ice melt and then clean off any hair or debris from the unit and then turn back the thermostat back to cool to see if that was the issue. It worked! Our a/c was working within a few hours. He didn't charge anything for the visit. Typically there would be a fee for just coming to our house, but he did not because he didn't repair anything. I thought that was extremely generous and fair of him and would definitely use them again.

We had several companies give us bids on replacing our AC unit. Affordable came in with the best price and were very knowledgeable about our issues with heat radiating inside our brick Sugarhouse bungalow. They recommended a larger unit than what we had and it has made a world of difference, especially in this hot summer. They let us test out the unit for a few weeks before settling up on the bill to make sure everything worked. We got a generous Angie's List member discount and they walked us through the Rocky Mountain rebate paperwork and had it all ready to send when we settled our bill. I would definitely recommend them to anyone and use them in the future.

This was a refreshing experience. I had been having challenges with a relatively new furnace, but no one from the company that installed it had been able to exactly explain why. So when the furnace went out yet again, I called this provider. Kurt took the time to fix the problem AND show me how to clean the flame sensor myself. Much better experience; I was warm and educated.

I received three estimates for a central AC install for our home. Affordable Heating and Cooling was very competitive in price, but what really sold me to Affordable was Harold Bunting, from whom I received the estimate. He was always courteous and professional and delivered what he said. I made a last minute decision to replace our furnace on the day of the AC install. They brought the furnace on the same day and installed both the AC and furnace by day's end. Furthermore, Harold gave a fantastic price on both units. I waited till now to write this review to make sure the furnace was ok through out the winter, and it was. Our new AC unit worked great as well in the summer. In all, we got great products at great prices with great service. I highly highly recommend these guys.

I could not be more satisfied with the prompt response, the price and the professionalism of Affordable. I would recommend them to anyone and will look to them for any future needs.

Our furness had quit working. The blower fan was not turning on so the heater wouldn't work. I called and they came out within a couple of hours of calling. They checked and noticed that the swithced to the fan had broken. The furness is about 18 years old. He replaced the switch and checked the rest of the furness to make sure everything else was working properly.

We compared three top rated vendors, all with the same equipment manufacturer. We were attracted to Affordable's presentation, technical knowledge, extended warranty protection and of course price. The removal of the old system and installation was completed comfortably in one day (versus two quoted by the alternate vendors). The crew worked very efficiently professionally and we very polite and informative as to the progress of the work. They positioned tarps across all foot traffic areas and left the furnace area spotlessly clean. They required no payment until a trial period to assure that the system is functioning well and overall follow-up has been tremendous. Exceptionally satisfied.

I had three estimates done for this job. The quotes all came in within a few hundred dollars of each other. The difference came in the product. Affordable Heating and Cooling proposed putting in much higher efficiency units than the other companies. Each of the high efficiency furnaces came with a $500 rebate from the gas company for a $1,000 savings and the high efficiency air conditioner came with a $250 rebate from the electric company. It was definitely nice to save $1,250 and get more high efficiency units at the same time. Once the rebates were taken into account Affordable was much more inexpensive than the other quotes I received. Harold from Affordable let me know about the rebate programs when he provided the estimate and completed all of the paperwork associated with the rebates. All I had to do was sign and send in the rebate forms. I've already received the rebate checks from the utility companies. I also appreciated that affordable replaced all of the registers as part of their quote. I called the other companies and they said they would replace the registers too but they did not mention it in their written quotes like Affordable did. A team of three people came to install the units and they were all professional, courteous, and pleasant to work with. They helped us decide on a more appropriate location for the air conditioning unit than I had originally selected. This new air conditioning location led to a bit of delay on my behalf because some other work needed to be completed before at the site before the installation crew could put the air conditioner in place. Even though this was inconvenient and made the job take longer, the installation crew didn't complain or act put off and didn't increase the price from the original bid. The units were all installed on time and the installation crew tested each unit prior to leaving. Working with Harold from Affordable was very easy. He didn't give a hard sale when he gave the estimate which I always appreciate. They didn't even seem too concerned about the billing. I paid nothing upfront and didn't pay anything until all of the paperwork for the rebates was completed and sent to me. The company provided quality service and high efficiency products.

Prompt, courteous, clean and efficient!

Called them when our AC was no longer working. The service guy showed me where it had burned up electrically. As it was 25 years old, he suggested I look at replacing it. They gave us an AC bid. I got 2 other bids, both were higher, and we had used Affordable before so we went with them. Harold is super easy to work with. On install day, they showed up as expected. As before, the installers are competent, but not exceptional. They forgot a couple of things they needed -but managed to get the job done. I would definitely use them again, I think price and honesty are two of their strong points.

Made apt, Co. apprised of timeline would arrive, had needed parts, checked everything, explained all, fixed problem. Professional, courteous, friendly.

We called at around 8:30 in the morning, and they showed up at around 5pm. The technician took a look at the inside unit, asked some questions, and then went to the outside unit. He opened the case, and commented "there is the problem". He proceeded to point out the run capacitor was 'bulging' (to my untrained eye I didn't see that at first, but it was clear once he pointed it out). He replaced that, and had us back and running in just a few minutes.He took extra time to answer my questions. Great service.
