The free service turned into $259 just to remove the toilet. Then technician John Jordan scoped the line and tried to tell me my pipes were severely damaged and I needed $9,100 worth of repair work on the main line out to the street. He pressured me to commit that day and that his price was the lowest I’d get it for. Thank goodness I waited and did my research seeing this is their standard scamming practice. I’m thankful I read the reviews. Do not ever use this company. They are scammers! They also quoted me $2,800 to put in a water softener that I ended up having Millcreek Plumbing put in for $1,600.

This company is the definition of unprofessional. They take absolutely no pride in their work while on site they break stuff and never repair broken items. Nor do they pay for damages they caused. There employees sleep on the job and majority have no training. This company will have you sign a contract for payment before works even done, then if or in certain circumstances where they are unable to complete due to incapability they will still charge because you signed a contract. If work is half done and u change ur mind due to quality of work they refuse to give refunds. They do not guarantee there work! Ive seen clients pay thousands of dollars only to have the exact same issue the following day! When requesting that it be fixed this company will try and charge an additional or a separate fee. The positive reviews listed maybe made up or in a very rare case the customer was satisfied. There never on time and always trump up the price. Theres been employee fights on and at the job sites. And many many violations to codes laws and plain simple ethics.

🚫FYI... 🚫This company is going around targeting seniors who live alone. They are going door to door and telling them that they need sewer work done. If you have elderly parents or grandparents that live in the salt lake or Taylorsville area. Let them know. Thanks!

what happened with these guys! I have uploaded a few screenshots of their fake reviews on google where they are trying to defraud you into thinking their 5 star reviews are recent and legit. They must have friends and family updating reviews to try and bury the reviews that are real and recent. BE CAREFUL THESE GUYS ARE A SCAM. Notice the attached reviews are from an "Hour" ago, yet their own response is from a year ago... interesting. The plumbers came and offered a service to remove the smell at my house. IF their recommendation didn't work they said would try other things until it was removed. I requested a scope ($200) to be thorough in their diagnosis, they said that would just be a waste of time, because they see this every day. We will do a whole house flush ($2053.36) I agreed, as long as they would come fix the smell for that price regardless of what it was. They agreed and were supremely confident they could. Their service didn't work. The smell is still here. So they came to do some work for 2 hours that I didn't need. They haven't fixed anything and only taken my money. Now they are refusing to fix what they NOW think is the problem unless they get another $6600... I had the same job bid and it came in at $3400... I am willing to have them do the work for $3400 minus the 2053.36. They are refusing. The work they preformed has done nothing to remedy the problem and after scoping it they found the problem in 5 minutes. The most disturbing thing is they gave me the new estimate to fix the problem and are charging $5500 to dig a 5 foot hole. I said, I could have the hole dug and they said "we won't discount it if the hole is dug..." they are not just trying to not lose money, this has been a bait and switch to get almost $10,000. Be careful. They probably have done good work in the past but if something doesn't go right make no mistake YOU will pay for it. I am in the process of charging back and small claims, save yourself the headache and find someone who wants to just be honest when they make a mistake. If they reach out to make it right I will update this review.

Very bad experience with multiple mistakes and poor customer service. I usually don’t write negative reviews, but the job started in January and I’m still having issues in July. Removing tree roots from your sewer pipe is expensive ($14,600), but the extra stress and work this company put me through makes this price even higher. The first mistake was big. They messed up the installation of the pipe liner and blocked the sewer line. The first big hole they dug in my front yard turned into digging another big hole on the side of my house to remove the blockage. They couldn’t remove the blockage from there, but destroyed my landscaped rock garden and broke a sprinkler pipe which they promised to fix. Then, to remove the blockage, they decided to take out my downstairs toilet, pull up the tile and dig a hole in the bathroom floor, adding weeks more to the job. When the sewer line was finally fixed I had to repair my landscaping and clean up what I could of the mess they made. Up to this point I had been very understanding and patient not even complaining of going without the sewer for four days or the damage they did to the street asphault. Covid19 happened, and a couple months went by with no word from them. They said they were going to send someone over to clean my carpeted stairs because of all the extra traffic and machines they carted down to the bathroom. They also said they would fix the sharp tile that was jutting up behind the toilet, which I had told them about back in March. Then, when I turned on my sprinkling system this year I couldn’t figure out why it wasn’t working. They forgot to fix the cut pipe. All that water gushing out of the buried broken pipe re-ruined my landscaping. They came back and re-dug the hole and while they fixed the pipe I was left with more stress, another mess to clean up, and needing to re-re-do my landscaping. Then the other day (now July) I noticed my downstairs toilet leaking. It was a brand new toilet so I assumed there might have been a mistake made when they installed it. Plus the toilet had an annoying slight rock. When the workers showed up I was informed by John that I was being silly about the tile and that I was lucky they came to look at the toilet at all. This person had the nerve to inform me that I should be thankful for all the “extra” work they had done for me. I tried to explain to him that the “extra” work was all due to their mistakes. This person even had the audacity to imply that I was lying about the toilet leaking. Why would I? I was so angry I had to walk away. The other worker, Mike, who I had dealt with a lot, apologized for his colleague as they were leaving. He hoped I wouldn’t give a bad review. I assume John was being such a rude, condescending bully because I am a 65-year-old woman. He probably needs to be better trained in dealing with customers. He definitely needs to listen more and talk less.

On Tuesday, June 30, 2020 I contacted 24 Hour Rooter Connectionz to have them come out and clean the main sewer drain. When the technician Alex Halton arrived, he explained that it would cost $249.00 to run the rooter down to clear the pipe. He warned me that it was possible that while running the rooter in the pipe that it could collapse because it was an old pipe. He also explained that another technician, who in actuality is a salesperson, John Jordan, would arrive between 1200 and 200 PM to inspect the pipe with a camera and show me what condition that it may be in. He also emphasized that running the camera was a free service that they offered to identify potential issues with the pipe. Alex removed the toilet in order to access the sewer line and immediately tells me that I need a new toilet flange and that he could give me a ‘deal’ on a new flange since he is already removing the toilet. He claimed that normally they would charge up to $800 to repair the flange but that he will send me a quote via email ($369.58). Alex brings in the rooter and starts to run it down the pipe. He finishes rather quickly and tells me that he was able to remove what appeared to be wipes or possibly roots. He collects $249 for the service that he claims he performed and reiterates that John will be the one who will re-install the toilet after inspecting the pipe. Thinking that the clog had been removed I ran the washer to see if the water would drain properly. As soon as the water began draining from the washer, the drain in the floor began to rise. I called the 24-Hour Rooter Connectionz office and spoke to the receptionist who told me that she would contact Alex. A few minutes later he called me back and claimed that he was in Magna at another job and could not come back. He told me that when John arrives, he will assist me with the sewer drain. When John Jordan shows up at my door, he is not wearing a mask and I ask him if he can please put one on. He runs the camera down the pipe, and it goes out 64 feet where he claims that it stops because it is obstructed. He tells me with a great deal of confidence that the sewer pipe has collapsed, and that the camera cannot go out any further. At this point he says we should go outside so he can show me where the pipe has collapsed. He explains that the camera has a sensor on it that can be located above ground to pinpoint the location of the camera in the pipe. From his vehicle he pulls out the device and starts moving it over the area where the sewer line is generally located, listening to a high-pitched sound that never quite changes in pitch, which you would expect if it had located the camera. Instead, using green spray paint, he marks a spot in two places where he claims that I will have to replace the pipe; one near the water main on the sidewalk and the other about 15 feet closer to the house. It appeared to me that these marks were totally arbitrary because I know the run length of the pipe from the drain where he told me the camera had been obstructed (64 ft), which was barely into the clay pipe section outside. After making the marks, John tells me that I need to replace the sewer line and that he can have a crew working on it in the next hour. He tells me that the work will cost $7300 at which point I ask him to please provide me with a written estimate for the work. I explained that I plan to get additional bids for the job prior to deciding which company to use. He goes on to say that he can give me ‘member pricing’ if I agree to do the work today, for $6300. Once again, I explain that he needs to provide me with a written quote with the pricing that he was offering and that I would consider it with the other bids that I obtained. John continues to be persistent that I accept the offer right now even though I kept telling him that I would not do it, followed by him reducing the price, urging me to accept, "What if I do it for $5500 and include a $1500 hydro-jet main sewer flush?" I stood firm and told him that he needed to submit a bid. I also told him that I do not agree to have any work performed on my property unless I have put it out for bid. By this point all sorts of bells and whistles are going off about John Jordan and Alex Halton. I am absolutely certain that I am being conned by a well-rehearsed operating plan that probably gets used by those two to suck money from unsuspecting people. I tell John that I will wait inside my house for the quote. He sits outside on his phone for about 5 minutes then comes back in the house and I ask him “where is the quote?”. He replies that he has to write it up on his iPad and was distracted talking to his doctor. I followed him down the stairs to the basement to ask him not to reinstall the toilet because I wanted other companies to be able to check out the line and provide a bid. He once again starts in applying pressure to make the sale, “who are you going to call?” he asks; I told him that I did not know yet. He then adds that he will also repair the toilet flange for the basement toilet at no additional cost and that I was not going to find a deal like this anywhere. Additionally, he could show me his customer invoices so I could see what a great deal that I was getting. I just wanted him to pack up his equipment quickly and get out of my house. John continued to press me while he picked up his equipment, I could not get him out of my house fast enough. He asked me why I would not agree to such a great deal? (again!) I told him that the way he was strong arming me into having him do the job made me feel like I could not trust him. He replied with “I don’t know what strong arming means”. This guy would not take ‘no’ for an answer and his behavior bordered on harassment. I had lost count of how many times that I had told him that I would not authorize any work without obtaining multiple bids. I know that this story sounds redundant, but this was the technique used by John in an attempt to persuade or perhaps a better word is coerce me into having him perform work that I suspected was unnecessary. I had had enough of John’s arrogance and I just wanted him to get out of my house. I asked him “would you pressure one of your male customers the way that you are pressuring to me?” He looks at me and says, “the deal is off”. At that point he knew that I was not going for his con job. The next day I contacted another company to clean out my sewer line. When the technician arrived, he told me what he would do to clear the drain and included that if he didn’t clear it, I would not have to pay him for his services. He brought in his rooter and worked on clearing the line for about 30 minutes. When I asked him how things were looking, and he said that the line was completely clear and that he would run a camera down to see what the pipe looked like. I watched as the camera followed the pipe all the way out to the street drain, 110 feet without obstruction and with no signs of a collapsed pipe. Alex and John are engaging in a carefully orchestrated scheme to defraud customers. Alex shows up first to clean out the sewer line, but he does not try very hard. His job is a well-choreographed performance to make you believe that he actually tries to clear the sewer line. But if he actually cleaned out the line, then there would not be water and waste obscuring the pipe to make it seem like the sewer line had collapsed. John strolls in with his camera to convince you that your pipe has collapsed and since you cannot run the water or flush your toilets, he thinks that he can pressure you into a job that you don’t really need. The reality of this situation is that Alex Halton and John Jordan are running a con. They prey upon specific targets for profit. On this day, they preyed upon the wrong person and although they may have taken my $249, I will do what I can to keep them from preying upon another person. After doing a bit of research about this organization, I discovered that John Jordan is related to the owner Ben R. Jordan. It is not a stretch to think that the sales technique that was used by John Jordan is standard operating procedure, particularly after you read the many reviews on how this company scammed so many people and both Ben and John are mentioned by name by these reviewers. Please do not use 24 Hour Rooter Connectionz and Connectionz Plumbing Heating and Air. These are not reputable people running these companies.

The salesman was very pushy. I was lied to several time and the schedule of the job. Once we confronted the salesman about the lies he became very defensive and explained to us what a great deal he had given us. The crews that they sent out were lazy and very unsafe. The contract was signed on 4/28/3020. It’s 5/11/2020 and the work still isn’t completed. Do not us this company.

Terrible. I am not the type of person to go and leave any kind of review honestly, but we have had the worst experience you could possibly think of with this company. The team that showed up to do the work was beyond unprofessional. They sat on their phones for the majority of the day and if someone walked in or out of the house, they would quickly start working as if they had been working the entire time. I don't feel like I should hire someone to come and do a service and then have to babysit. But it gets worse. Towards the end of the service, they were operating the excavator and hydraulic fluid was spraying all over the lawn, plants, driveway and sidewalk. When we asked them about this issue, we were given the reply "Well, why don't you do it then. Or you can just let me do my job." All of the guys that came out to do this service were very rude and inconsiderate. They only wanted to get the job done and could not care any less about the result. They "Finished" And left us with massive amounts of Hydraulic fluid to clean up, Dirt all over the yard, driveway and sidewalk, large rocks that used to make a very nice wall thrown in a pile and large holes all over our yard. If there was a lower grade I could give this company, I would not even hesitate to do so. Easily the WORST service we have ever used.

They came two hours after the time window I was given. They went down to the clean out in my basement and while getting their camera ready they opened a roll of paper towels becauae they needed to clean some piece of equipment. The told me they had done this after I came down to check on them. They put the camera down the line and explained what they were seeing. The whole time saying a good hydro clean would get the pipe totally clean. I had had it hydroflushed a month before by my plumber. Finally they got to where the pipe was filled with water and I was told that the pipe was bowing and we didn't need to go any further with the camera because we found the problem and now that the camera was wet we wouldn't be able to see anything. They makred the spot in the yard to dig and gave me bid. Then they gave me a lower bid but said I would have to decide before they left or the deal was off. Finally they said I could have the evening to decide when I said I was already late for a meeting because they were so late coming. My plumber gave me a better bid and we dug down in the spot indicated. We found a pipe that was slightly crushed but no bowing or water. We looked further down the line and found water about two feet away. After digging out another three feet of the hole which was 8' deep we found the actual problem which was a 4'' pipe crammed into a 6'' pipe with no connector. The reault was that tree roots had grown into the pipe and filled up the pipe so almost no water could get through. I called the company while my plumber was working on this to tell them that they needed to retrain the person who came out. I asked to speak to a manager and was told all the managers were gone until Thursday and didn't have any cell phone service most of the time. This was a Saturday. I asked the girl if there was anyone to report problems to until then because my current problem of them refusing to camera the whole pipe was going to possiblycost me several thousand dollars at the minimum especially if the problem was really inthe atreet and I had to pay a different company to come in and dig there. We didn't know at the time if that would be the case. She changed her original answer and said the managers check at the end of the day and someone would try to get cell service and call me either that day or Monday. No one has called me and a week has passed. Since I was given the run around and never contacted I assume they approve of dishonest work and probably wanted me to use their company and then charge me more when that wasn't the actual problem and theyhad to dig more. Who sends all of their managers off somewhere with no cell service when you are a 24/7 company? I would never use them again no matter how cheap the camera price is in Hometown Values.

The salesman (I refuse to call him a technician) came out to give us an estimate on repairing our furnace which was making an odd noise. He ran a diagnostic, which did not show any problems. He diagnosed the noise, then proceeded to write up a quote for over $30,000 worth of new equipment, including 2 new air conditioners and other extra items. When asked what it would cost to repair the existing unit, he quoted about $800. I looked online and the part (without a wholesale discount) was only $300. Also, the noise stopped the following day and has not come back. Untrustworthy and dishonest! Do not hire these con men!

NOTE: Connectionz was sold and is under new ownership as of November 2015. Prior reviews do not reflect current management. We hired Connectionz Plumbing to install a sump pump in our basement. The sump pit was already in place, we only needed the pump installed. We had excellent dealings with Connectionz in the past, only discovering later that it had been sold and the owner we had met was no longer with the company. When Connectionz Plumbing sent someone out to bid the work, they did so without providing any written bid. I asked about the absence of paperwork and was told the pricing was standard and no paperwork was needed. The details of the bid later came under dispute, specifically the provision to repair drywall after the job was completed. I paid an initial deposit over the phone via credit card, for which I am still awaiting a receipt over a week later. The installers arrived two hours after their three-hour arrival window due to a scheduling error in the office, which had our appointment slated for the following day. Rushed, the workers altered the terms of the bid, stating they will not repair drywall and will in fact no longer hide the sump pump drain hose within the wall as agreed. We asked regarding a lower price for a less intensive job and received no answer. We called the main office and spoke with the general manager, Daniel, who we later discovered was in fact the owner (despite his insistence that he was not the owner). Daniel also refused to discuss a lower price for less intensive work. I was not at home, and one of the installers pressured my wife into signing authorization paperwork for the full price. Work had already begun before I learned we would still be charged the full price even though they would not be digging up and replacing concrete, widening our sump hole, laying the pipe behind drywall, or repairing drywall— all of which were part of the original bid. Upon completion of the less intensive job, the workers insisted on final payment. My wife informed them I would call in final payment after discussing a price adjustment with the general manager, Daniel. I received a frantic call from my wife saying the installers were refusing to leave. I informed them directly that I would make payment to the office since we needed to discuss the pricing as the work was not what was originally bid. The installers informed me they would not leave our home until payment was made. I responded that if they needed to wait, they needed to do so in their vehicle. They refused. My pregnant wife was home alone with our young child. I informed the installers that if they did not leave, I would consider them trespassing and would call the police, adding that Daniel needed to call me immediately. A few minutes later, Daniel called and proceeded to yell at me and lecture me for 30 minutes. How dare I threaten to call the police… how dare I refuse payment… how dare I treat his employees that way. I attempted to explain what I wanted to discuss, but he continued to talk over me. At one point, he placed me on hold to talk to his installers, at which point they returned to the basement, tore out their installation and left the house, leaving my wife stunned, sobbing, and frantic. When Daniel returned, he continued to yell at me until I flatly stated he had done nothing to improve the situation but yell at me and refuse to listen. At that point, I was able to tell my story, while Daniel interjected defensive statements regarding their policies and procedures. We had been on the phone 45 minutes when I gave up and demanded a refund of my deposit since no work was actually done. Daniel immediately switched to customer service mode, stating he did not wish to upset me and wanted to make it right. He offered to come out and do the work himself the next day. I agreed, provided he re-bid the job entirely to ensure correct pricing. I took time off work, and Daniel came the next morning, re-bid the job $75 higher than the first bid, though stating he would “throw in” drywall repair for free despite it explicitly stated as part of the first bid. I negotiated him down to the original bid for the original price. I received paperwork and we scheduled a time for later that evening. He actually arrived an hour and a half early. I had thankfully taken the whole day off rather than a half-day. Partway into the job, Daniel consulted with me about changing the terms yet again, reducing his workload but not altering the price. His rationale for for leaving the Y-join as it was seemed sound. He stated it would leak in the event of a sewer backup, and wanted to leave it exposed so the leak wouldn't ruin the inside of the wall. I hesitantly agreed, but later learned the connection shouldn't leak by design, but should be completely sealed. Daniel assured me he would make it all look pristine and flawless. Again, the job ended up going until 11pm; I can’t imagine how long it would have gone had I insisted on the original workload. A few hours passed and Daniel called me down again, stating he had to leave for another appointment and would leave his coworker to finish mudding and sanding the drywall repair. I was stunned because he promised to complete the job himself, but wouldn’t actually see it to completion, and further stunned when he asked for final payment before he left. I stated I would not make final payment until the job was complete, but if he needed to leave, I would be fine calling in payment. He refused and returned to the basement to wait because of 2% higher fees from the credit card company if I called in the card number. I calculated the difference in fees as $10. We were dismayed by how we were being treated and told Daniel we were not feeling satisfied. He became impatient and stated that he had done everything for us and what could we possibly still want. I asked for a discount due to all the trouble (until this point we were only receiving the original job at the original bid price, with no concessions for the horrors of the night before). He offered us $50 on an $1,100 job. We accepted provided we also received a written apology from the first installers. Daniel replied: “So if I give you $50 and a letter of apology, you can guarantee me a 5-star review?” This was not the first time he used a 5-five star review as a bargaining chip. I was deeply offended by his insistence that I review him well— a review should be a natural extension of the nature and outcome of a job, not a point of negotiation between the owner of a company and a customer. At some point in the evening, Daniel left without informing us, leaving one worker to finish the drywall. At 11pm, the remaining worker told us it was “as good as it’s going to be” and he needed to leave. “Let this dry overnight, then sand it with this.” I was exhausted after over 8 hours of installers in my home, not to mention the ordeal the night before, so I accepted, and issued payment, which had to be called in anyway since Daniel had left anyway. Before retiring, I took pictures of the work, the hose sticking out of our wall at one point and entering an pipe inlet at another part (neither of which were there before the work began), the unsealed pipe-inlet connection that could allow sewer gasses to escape or even sewage in the event of a backup, the cracks along overly-mudded drywall, and the gaps between drywall and fixtures I specifically pointed out and was told would be repaired. The next morning, the job looked as hasty and shabby as it had the night before. I took more pictures, which I emailed to the company after lodging a formal complaint with the office receptionist since Daniel was not available. I asked for Daniel to call me because the work done was not pristine or flawless as he asserted it would be, evidenced by the pictures I attached. After several days, Connectionz Plumbing returned my call. I spoke with Daniel. He offered to send someone once again to fix the issues that "aren't up to your standard." I informed him I no longer had any interest in any dealings with Connectionz except for a partial refund so I can hire another company to fix it. Daniel refused, accusing me of blackmailing his company when I stated I would reflect our conversation in my review.
Description of Work: Install a sump pump in an existing sump pit, hide all pipes in floor and behind drywall, replace concrete and drywall.

It was fantastic. I don’t think that there is anything that they could improve with their service. It was very up front. The pricing was very reasonable and they were on time and very professional. The cost included parts and labor for the broken pipe.
Description of Work: We used plumbing services from Connectionz Plumbing. We had a broken pipe in the basement that they came and repaired.
