I took my laptop in for a repair and was informed that they were not able to fix it. They recommended that I take the hard drive out and convert it to an external hard drive which I thought was a great idea. I was informed that they did not have the case in stock but would have one within 2 weeks. I was told they would keep my laptop and call me when the case was in and had everything completed. I offered to pay for everything at that time but was told to wait until I came to pick it up. I worked up the street from their store so this was acceptable and convenient for me. Well, 30 days later when I had not heard a word from them I stopped in to see if it was ready for me to pick up. I was assisted by a different employee who rudely informed me that they no longer had my laptop - they had destroyed it because I left it there too long. I was outraged to say the least. I had a lot of irreplaceable documents and pictures on that hard drive. The employee was snotty and condescending - informing me that their policy was to destroy all computers left for more than 30 days. When I explained how things happened he rudely told me they never would have told me that! The employee that did help me at that time was in the store and acted like he didn't even remember me! Why was I not informed of destroying laptop policy? Why was that not posted in the store in large print for customers to see? Why treat me rude because you clearly made a mistake and are now trying to shove the blame to me? I didn't receive one phone call from them telling me they were destroying it. And the most disturbing - how do I know that they really destroyed it and didn't repair it and sell it? I was also missing my $200 worth of IGO power cords which they also said were gone. I immediately left the store and filed a complaint with the BBB which resulted in a phone call from the owner apologizing (sort of - he still wanted to lay the blame on me) and delivering to me my power cords that were miraculously found - but nothing could be done about the hard drive as it was indeed destroyed according to him. Never again would I step foot in this store or recommend them.
