+ -1 moreNeighbors came to look at the "new" deck and all pointed out the uneven edges and unfinished look. Old metal edging underneath showed. When asked to even it up and replace pieced together portions, he said he would have had to buy more materials and he was not going to do it. He became belligerent and almost struck a neighbor before packing up his tools and leaving. One of the men who came over to discuss the job with him was a board member of our HOA. He stated that Mr. Harper would no longer be allowed to work in our community.
Description of Work: Installed TREK decking over existing small deck. Big gaps between boards, pieced together sides of stairs (2). Very uneven edges. Said he tried to keep the price low and ran out of material, which didn't account for the uneven pieces. He should have removed the metal edging from old deck and cut more accurately. He was going to edge part of it with a metal strip but that would not have taken care of all the problems. Work was performed 10/31 and I called him back 11/1. He said he wanted me to be satisfied and would fix it. His solutions were not acceptable. He said the deck was uneven to begin with and he couldn't fix that.
