It went better than I could ever imagined. Travis was professional. He did each phase of the work well and explained what and why things were being done the way they were. Excellent.
Description of Work: Installed a 4 prong electric outlet for new stove. Switched out all electric outlets in house. Set up remotes on 3 ceiling fans and discovered a faulty wire and replaced in guest bedroom ceiling fan which had been done previously. Travis did a superior job.

That solved the problem as a reset was needed. Asked for $80 which I felt was way too much for the service offered. I gave him the check and he left

Had a problem with a chirping doorbell. I had no idea how to make it stop and the noise was driving me crazy. Called them to help out if at all possible. They told me they would call back and let me know if they could come. No call. Wasted 2 hours that I could have been calling around. Finally got someone to help luckily. Not the electrician's fault, just the fault of the receptionist. Not great that your first line of defense blows people off.
Description of Work: They blew me off.

Excellent experience from beginning to end. Outstanding experience!!
Description of Work: I was putting in new light switches and electrical socket boxes in my home and could not get the new ones "hot." In frustration, i called D Blake Electric and they had a technician at my house within one hour! He diagnosed and fixed the problem and installed my remaining boxes within about an hour for a total charge, including coming to my home, for only $70 which I thought was more than reasonable. I'm very happy with the service and results and would not hesitate to use them again.

We lost power to 2 rooms so we called this guy. He was very friendly. His over the phone estimate was very close to what the job cost. Of course I never expect a phone estimate to be exact until they get to see the scope of the job onsite. He was able to get to us quickly and was on time. He troubleshot and found the problem and made repairs. We are very happy with the quality of work he did. He didn't leave anything undone and left no mess. There have been no problems with the wiring so far. We will use Blake electrical from now on.

I had called another company out to see if they could find out why I had a circuit that kept tripping off. They set an appointment and I waited for 4 hours and they never showed up as promised. About 6 hours after our original appointment time the other company called to re-schedule the missed appointment. Again that appointment was missed as I waited for another 5 hours the second time. I previously had Blake Electric perform some work on a house I built years ago. (not the current one I live in) I found them in the phone book and gave them a call. they set an appointment to come check out my problem and they even arrived about 20 minutes early. Once the technician started to look at the issue he was able to diagnose and repair the problem with in 30 minutes. While at my home he also discovered that the Main Breaker Panel had been wired wrong and it was actually in code violation as well as a safety hazard (could even cause a fire) He suggested that the panel needed to be re-wire correctly and cleaned up as it was a messy installation. About 2 1/2 hours later the panel was re-wired and he even was able to gain me 2 extra circuits for future expansion. The wiring job was neat, orderly and now safe. The total bill was just over $350.00 but worth every dime of it. Oh and he even re-labeled my panel for me so I knew what breaker went to what room, appliances, etc. etc.
Description of Work: They found a short circuit and also poor original installation of the main electrical panel. They replaced a GFI receptacle and re wired most of the Electrical panel was re-wired correctly and made safe.

After leaving a message for the company and not hearing a response for several days, I called again. I was able to get some help at that point. Response time was good after that. The problem ended up being more complex than the technician expected. He offered me one costly and one "less costly" option that required some asthetic touch ups on our end after the work was done. I chose the latter. My final bill included a charge for 45 minutes of time while the tech was gone shopping. I did not like that since I have no idea whether or not all that time was spent shopping for my parts. It also seemed a long amount of time to be gone when we are in a small town and things are close. When I called the office and asked why I had to pay for this time I was told it's because the tech has to shop since he can't carry all his parts around. While I understand that, I still had concerns about the amount of time--especially since I was paying 65.00 per hour for the service. The tech was 15 minutes late and I was also charged for that time. When I mentioned that to the office staff, 15 minutes of time was removed from my bill. The tech got the work done in the amount of time he said he would and things have worked well. We did find out later that he knocked some wiring in our attic that caused our phone to stop working. That was discovered and repaired by our intenet provider. I appreciated that he offered me a low cost option rather than just automatically taking the more expensive route. Overall I was happy to have the job done and for the amount I paid. I would use this company again, however, I would make sure the tech was arriving with what he needed and didn't have to go shop.
Description of Work: Our laundry room was not wired with enough power for our dryer. We had to have new wiring run from our electrical box to the laundry room where a new outlet was installed.

Excellent, knowledgable technician he found things that others had not found and made my system work better and more efficiently. He also took the time to explain what he was doing and why he was doing it. I also found the staff at the office to be very helpful they returned calls quickly and were very accommodating with my schedule. They are number one on my list.
Description of Work: Had him come out to check out my AC system this had not been done in several years. He found a faulty relay switch and an obstruction to the flow of air in the system. I have used them in the past to setup and troubleshoot a ceiling fan. This may sound like an easy job but it was very difficult due to the fact that the ceiling was 25 feet high.

He was not my first choice. He was expensive. He charged me for travel time to come out from St. George that was just 5 or 6 miles but I did not appreciate it. I thought it was a bit arrogant to charge me for travel time to do a job. It was an hour in a half work and he was here for only an hour the most. They charge the time when they leave the place. It was all about the price. They were responsive and did a good job. But I know that he could have done better.

Our neighbor told us to use D. Blake if we could have Bob (not his real name) come take care of our AC. They had Bob come years ago and loved him and then later had D. Blake do some electrical work and said they wouldn’t have them do anything electrical but if I could get Bob to come on the AC that he was very good. I can’t say that things went exactly prefect. Bob, who has since been let go, was very nice and eager to help us out but he did seem to have some problems with finding our AC problem. He had recently been in an accident or something so he was a little rattled but I was happy with his determination to help us out. He was very nice. It took Bob 3 trips to find the real problem but he finally found it, which was a bad coil. He told us since the coil was under warranty it would only cost us labor to replace it and then he didn’t charge us for that last visit. A new coil was ordered and scheduled to be put in. Jerry came to put that in. (That is his real name.) Jerry was very nice, clean cut, efficient and did a fine job replacing the coil. I was a little surprised, however when he presented me with a bill that included Bob’s previous visit. That was an extra $404 dollars. I paid it and didn’t even complain. I kept thinking of Bob and didn’t want him to loose his job. I wish I had now because they have since let him go anyway (thus my not using his real name.) In all fairness to D. Blake, I think Bob may have had some irresolvable issues from his accident. So my AC does work and it works fine, however, I wasn’t impressed with D. Blake as a company. The fact that they let Bob go tells me they knew he had issues and yet they charged me for everything Bob did and all his time. I am sure if I argued the point they would tell me, “but we are out the money and he did come out”. How do I know they would say that? Well because after I had paid for everything – they sent me a bill for $236 for the freight of the “warranted coil” to and from Salt Lake City. Never was freight cost mentioned when I was trying to decide if I should replace the coil or have a new AC put in. Remember I also paid for several hours of labor to replace the coil because labor isn’t part of the warranty (plus the previous visits). When I suggested that I shouldn’t be charged freight after the fact like that I was told I should have known there would be freight and “it wouldn’t be fair for them to now eat that cost.” Really, because in my business I don’t change the invoice after the job is done. I managed to talk them into splitting the cost of the freight. I guess I could have refused to pay it but I don’t do business that way either. From the looks of it – D. Blake’s technicians are clean cut, nice guys. They can fix an AC and get it right but I don’t like their business motto of their bottom line being more important than fairness with their customer. It’s not that I would never have D. Blake come fix an AC again but I will try and find someone else first.

Description of Work: It's Saturday, just got back from hiking.....the temp. is nearing 100 degrees outside and my Air Conditioner has stopped blowing cool air, so the house is heating up. Called D. Blake and someone called me within minutes of my call. They came earlier than the hour that was quoted and got right to work. I was low on coolent and a fan run cap was out. He was clean, friendly and worked efficently. I'm in a senior park and am glad that someone can come so quickly, especially in this heat.. I am sure that I got my money and then some. I highly recommend D. Blake Electric and their Technician Jerry.
