Park City Painting

Poorly !!!!!

We were amazed by the job Park City Painting did, and we are not easy to amaze. Scott (owner) came out the same day we called him and sent us an estimate the next day, which was very reasonable. We had timing constraints on when the work had to be done and he assured us they could work around the schedule of our flooring contractor and still meet our deadline. Kerrick was our point man from there on in. He called to tell us when he could get started and showed up the morning he said he would. He completed the work on the one finished room in the house while the flooring work was being completed and coordinated his future coming and goings with the floor contractor so as to maximize work time while staying out of their way. That may sound like a little thing but because we were staying off site during the messy and smelly stage of sanding and staining it was a huge help to not have to handle the coordination ourselves and was greatly appreciated. The staircase trim was especially tricky but because Kerrick?s work was so neat and precise there was not one missed spot or errant drop of paint anywhere. The final coat was flawless. As the deadline was approaching (we had movers lined up to move our furniture back in) Kerrick brought in another painter (equally professional) to ensure they would be done on time. Not only did they get done on schedule but Kerrick offered to do touchups on the walls that had gotten dinged during the floor installation. He also touched up the lodge polls on the staircase with some magic elixir that filled in some bleached spots and evened out the tone where they were showing some wear and tear. He wouldn't even take anything extra for the extra effort. Who does that sort of thing anymore!!? Seriously, I was blown away. Great company, great people, doing absolutely great work. It was such a pleasure doing business with mature professionals for a change. Needless to say we would hire them again in a New York minute, and probably will.

They were professional, respectful of our property, friendly and just good at what they were doing. They taped and tarpped the house and yard extensively to avoid any mishaps. They cleaned up every day and made sure they organized their things before leaving for the day. The painters did an initial walk through with us to correct and basic issues and Scott, the owner, came by at the end of the project to do a final walk through to fix any remaining issue. We were very pleased!

I was not home the week it was done but I came in to inspect it afterwards. There were a couple of places I wanted to have painted a different color and Scott took care of it no problem. He also painted the mailbox for me and replaced a piece of wood fascia that had cracked badly and did not charge me extra. They did spill some stain in the driveway and in the street but cleaned that up right away. They also had to come back and clean up the paint chips that were on the ground but he did that right away too. Overall, it was good job and I would use them again.

I never write these as my time if valuable and my attitude is I just won't use their services again, but felt it important to say something so others don't run into the same issues I did. They were very professional and responsive to win my business, how everything after that is downhill. The quality of the work was poor and frankly very abusive when questioned about the rapid deterioration 3 years later. When his crew came on site half of them stood around and did nothing, in fact on the 2nd day they started throwing paint at one another and I had to tell them to stop. The preparation of the outside walls was poor and questioned him about the fact that they were not removing old paint, but he assured me that this would not be a problem and against my better judgment I went with his word. Three years later and I now have to repaint my entire outside as the paint is falling off the walls. When I called him about it he got very abusive and told me that repainting an entire home every 3 – 4 years is normal. I'm sure there is some truth in that but I have neighbors all around me that have no repainted their homes in the 6 years I lived here so I can only assume that it was poor quality preparation, painting, or workmanship. Even if 3 – 4 years is the norm his abusive tone in his communication leaves a lot to be desired. Needless to say I won't be using his services again.

He is wonderful. He is on top of it. He is responsive. I don't think we are going with him because we may be going to another direction, and may not be painting outside of our house this year. I will certainly go with him again, and I promised him that I would give him good listings and ratings on Angie's list. I want to follow through with that. He was here the same day, when I called him. He gave me a free estimate. He offers discount for seniors. His responsiveness, his professional customer service, and providing a free estimate within 48 hours stood out the most to me. He provided details estimate that was pages long. He is very trustworthy. He is so into customer service.

They did a wonderful job on my home. They had very good credentials, were detailed with their work and they made sure they were here on time. It was just great service from the start of the job until they finished.

I would say they were very professional. They were also very responsive.

I was not happy with this consumer at all. He suggested many areas of my home that needed to be replaced. In his mind this would increase the cost of painting the house. Some examples included: he suggested I have a open deck and that I should have this enclosed.
