+ 0 moreTina very friendly was able to send Mike over with in the hour. Mike was friendly and able to figure out the problem with in minutes. Then when asked to tell my other half what the situation was and what needed to be done- He did it - no problem. I would absolutely call/ recommend Hot Rod & Yox.
Description of Work: I had water flooding my utility closest when I woke up - yikkes. I was VERY unsure of what the problem was.

+ -1 moreAs usually happens, the plumbing problems occurred on the weekend. However, I sent a message to Hot Rod and Yox and Tina called me first thing Monday morning. She scheduled her crew to go to the home between Noon and 2. They showed up and promptly fixed the problems. This is a property I managed, so was not my own home. However, the tenants were very pleased.
Description of Work: Fixed a leak in the kitchen sink and unclogged the drain in the master bath shower/tub.

+ 2 moreThe service call went well. The technician arrived promptly. Our water was tested for hardness, and the hot water recirculation pumps were assessed as working properly. The technician identified the problem as our water softening system, and we then made arrangements for a service technician from the company that installed the water softening system to come and fix the problem
Description of Work: We were having some problems with water softening, and our hot water recycle pumps. The service technician tested our water, checked out our recirculation pumps, and assessed that the problem was with our water softening system. We were only charged for a service call. It is easy to schedule a service call, and we were kept informed of when the technician would arrive. This company is prompt, professional, and provides excellent quality services.

He was professional and efficient and honest about the work that needed to be done and that which did not. We definitely plan to use Hot Rod and Yox for our plumbing needs when we move in next year.
Description of Work: Provider completed check list of small plumbing problems for the house we had just purchased. He replaced the cap on an outside clean-out access, checked leak in master shower, reconnected pop-up at master sink, tightened all loose toilets, cleaned and greased shower diverters and located outside main shut-off for us.

+ 0 moreThey are a bit pricey but they do a really good job. They just come out, they know what to do, they have what they need, and they do it. I would call plumbers to replace the control box and it would go out just about every ten days. Finally a guy at Hot Rod found that the furnace is incompatible with the standard replacement part. He did a little research and found a solution so I haven't had a problem since then. You get what you pay for and you are better off going with someone who knows what he is doing. They are busy but they will try to fit you in.
Description of Work: Hot Rod & Yox has been coming out once a year for the last few years. They worked on the pipes around the furnace this last time.

+ 0 moreThe work was simple enough to do that I can't rate the quality. However, they were extremely prompt, and only charged by the 1/2 hour. Others were less expensive per hour, but had a one hour minimum -- making them the least cost for a simple job.

Description of Work: I have used them before and the quality and promptness are excellent and this is one of those cases where you get what you pay for. In this instance, they reworked my radiant heating control system to be more efficient by putting our radiant baseboard on a separate zone from the radiant floor system. Prior to that, we had to sacrifice the efficiency of the base board system by running it at a lower temperature, the maximum temp tor the radiant floor heating system. Anyway, I believe that all is well and I am looking forward to a warmer and less expensive (propane) winter.

+ -1 moreThe water from the leak is showing up on the first floor ceiling and the service person explained how drain was installed in the shower to and how this type of leakage could occur. The only way to fix the problem is cut a hole in ceiling to fix the leak. He siliconed the sprainer in hopes of preventing more expensive repair.
Description of Work: Diagnosed problem with leak coming between fiberglass shower base and siliconed around sprainer to see if more expensive repairs could be avoided.

+ 0 moreThey are much more reputable than their name sounds. Sometimes they appear to be a little high in the price but they did a good job. The safety bars, they had to drill through tile in the walls and they did a good job with that without damaging anything. I have used them several times and they have always done well. Everything works great and I am happy with their service.
Description of Work: They fixed two toilets and repaired the garbage disposal. They also hung safety bars in two bathrooms and replaced a valve for the ice maker in my refrigerator.
