It has gone badly. I have no confidence in the system and its monitoring. See update above.
Description of Work: Platinum installed a "free" alarm system containing door sensors for all exterior doors, a central smoke detector, a motion sensing detector and the control system including backup battery and a keychain fob remote arm/disarm device. It worked for several months until the backup battery went dead. It was replaced. Then, I was provided alerts by the alarm monitoring company (Not Platinum) that the system was reporting "Fail to connect" alarms to the monitoring company. Trouble tickets have been initiated three times with a contracted technician on my premesis to repair the fault. A cellular radio was replaced as well as other troubleshooting techniques but I still receive alerts from the monitoring company that they are receiving the "fail to connect" message and now are disregarding that alert in my case. I do not endorse that since I am paying for complete monitoring, not just those areas that appear to function normally. They promise to come out 6/17/2011 to again repair the fault. We'll see. I've had to prod them several times to get action. They are not particularly quick to respond. Update. They came out and replaced the cellular telehone with another using a different cellular service provider. That has apparently cured the problem for I am able to see a much stronger signal on the cellphone than any previous phone installed on the system. Multiple tests over a period of time confirm that the system is now working and I'm regaining confidence in it.

I did find that there were some hidden fees. That is the only complaint I have with them and still continue to use them today.

They installed it on the 1st. The alarm system had four monitors. It seemed to go well. Then we had static on out phone and we had someone come out and they found the problem. They found a hole in our vent pipe and I have been dealing with it ever sense. I am not happy at all.

They misrepresented the price, they drilled mounting holes in the wall but I was told it was a wireless system. I had to tell them to fill in the holes after they took the system out, and they left the staples in. I have a "man" door in the garage where they installed the contact connection. I keep my American Eskimo dog in the garage, and the door was left open. If the system had ever worked, I would have known the door was ajar. The dog got out, and I have not seen the dog since.
