After we had cancelled Sachiko's contract, we asked that they call us before they came back to remove the system. They didn't. The installer came back, ripped the central controls from the wall, leaving a big hole in the wall. Yanked the phone line and broke the plug so it was inoperative. They yanked the contacts from the sliding doors leaving a mess and yanked the contacts from the door casings leaving 1 3/4" holes that they didn't repair. We had planned on suing the company but unfortunately my wife became seriously ill a few days later and that took precedent over everything. We took pictures of the damage and have them if anyone is interested. If you Google this company, you'll find many, many similar stories of disatisfied customers. They sub out the telephone support to other companies and their service is horrendously bad. They installed the main control box on an outside wall between her kitchen and family room, the farthest point from the front door and difficult to read from either side. The sliding door contacts were installed with double-faced tape in a very slip-shod manner. The quality of their work was atrocious. I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy, if I had one. My wife was in the hospital for 47 days total and was the only reason we didn't sue Pinnacle Security Systems. My son had full Power-of-attorney for Sachiko.
Description of Work: Sachiko Duffin was a Japanese lady who was the wife of my wife's step-brother who passed away twenty years ago. She lived alone and was in the first phases of Alzheimer's. We had scheduled her airflight back to Japan to be with her family. She was scheduled to fly on February 24, 2008. On Saturday February 2nd, a salesman from Pinnacle Security Systems headquartered in Utah sold her an alarm system for her home. He told her horror stories of home invasions, rapes and crime in her area; all untrue and scared her into accepting the system. It was all done without our knowledge. On Tuesday we couldn't get hold of her and our Son stopped by to make sure she was alright and saw the alarm system. I immediately called Sachiko (who was obviously upset) and asked her who the company was. She didn't know. I asked her what her password was to operate the system. She didn't know. I asked her, "Sachiko, if you have any problems with your alarm, who do you call?".. She fortunately had a piece of paper with the installers name and cell phone number. I immediately called him and was told I couldn't call to cancel the system installation but had to send a slip attached to the contract Sachiko had signed and fax it to the company. Since it was within the 3 day period that California allows cancellations, we were able to void the contract. Had it been one day later, it would have cost her $1,700.00 to cancel. They were really angry that we had cancelled but they didn't give her the three day period before they made the installation. I called the Sheriff's office who had documented many problems with this company but was told that Pinnacle was just on the edge of fraud and illegal activities but their hands were tied until they could catch them doing something illegal. They are a BAD company.

They explained everything to me, but, I still have some doubts which I need to call them about. The representative was very convincing. They have wireless system, so, the wires can't be cut to inactivate the alarm system which is very good. They were very nice over the phone and in person as well.
Description of Work: I use them for the security and they modified my existing alarm system to work with them.

They are unprofessional and I want people to be aware that their monthly rates- they are very expensive. They are just trying to get you to sign a contract and be stuck with it. I would not recommend them to others.
Description of Work: A representative came to my house and told me that I needed to update my keypad- He said that the city and GE recommended if your keypad is more than three years. I checked this. I called my own security company and they told me that this was just an example of them trying to steal other another company's business and to not worry about it.

The monitoring was very bad. The alarm would be set off and no one from Pinnacle would call us. We tried to get in touch once with Pinnacle to let them know the power was off and we got put on hold for 15 min. and then the call was dropped.

Within two days it stopped working. They could not fix it so I asked them to remove it. They left large holes in the wall. They were suppose to repair the holes but never did.

This was a cold call by a very professional young man. He explained his company and their goal to gain saturation in our area. I liked that the system is wireless, has pet immune monitors and a personal alarm for my mother. The hour for the call was a bit late, but because I allowed them to finish that night, the representative added a couple of perks for our trouble. My only complaint is that the placement of the new monitors did not cover where the old monitor had been, so we have to do some paint touch up. Also, a new monitor was mounted too low on the wall. Beyond these minor problems, I like this company better than the previous company.
Description of Work: Replaced previous security system at approximately the same price with the addition of a personal alarm for elderly mother. Price quoted is for 1 month.

They provide excellent home security. I've never had any problems with them. I have had very good experience with all the staff that I have spoken with. The people who installed it were very punctual. They were great at cleaning up after themselves and fixed all the holes they drilled to install the system.
Description of Work: They provide me with home security. Their service includes other protection such as fire.

The system was installed and it was more bother than it was worth - false alarms, system outages, failed test signals. And then there was the quality of customer service through a competitive alarm company(see their review). But we didn't really have an issue with Pinnacle until we tried to cancel the service. The customer service was horrendous. They basically told me that I could pay $768.15 or go *expletive* myself. So I did pay that ridiculous cancellation fee, and sent them a 3-page letter, and copied the BBB on it!
Description of Work: We were duped by Pinnacle into signing a 3 year contract to do business with a competitive alarm company, an affiliate of Pinnacle Security. After paying $578.58 for sub-standard service, we were notified that it would cost us another $768.15 to cancel. Outrageous!!

They came knocking door to door within my neighborhood. They gave me a thorough explanation of their packages and information about their company. At this point, they are meeting my monthly needs for a secure home. I opted to choose them because they offered the monitoring for fire and unwanted entry at a comparable cost to the previous company that I was using. With the previous company I was using, I was only receiving monitoring for unwanted theft at a similar cost.
Description of Work: I have a yearly contract with this company. The alarm system is for fire and unwanted entry. They monitor the system and I pay them on a monthly basis. The price listed the total amount I pay for the year.
