Not very knowledgeable and not detail oriented.
Description of Work: We had gas leak and frig line leak. Any hour charged $450 for gas line leak just changed out right angle in pipe. He said it was fixed and he checked it. While he did not turn on the gas and we went out of town. So he really did not test. My housesitter had no hot water for three days because he did not turn back on gas and did not relight the water heaters. He changed the small blue frig line. Did not tell me of other options to upgrade to better line and frig box with shut off. Line again failed and had to call out again. The he put in silver line. Got charged twice

It was a complete sales job. I sensed this because he kept repeating the fact that he wasn't trying to pressure me in any way. The scare tactic used was also very apparent. There were lies and misinformation spewed. For instance, telling me that there could be "potential" carbon monoxide leakage was a lie for my specific furnace and install. He just made a general statement about heat exchangers. He just forgot to mention that my furnace didn't have this potential because of how it is negatively pressured, etc. I learned this from the person I eventually hired. Certain brands/make/model may have this problem, but not mine. I guess by only making general statements without caveats allow these folks to sleep at night. The salesman gave me 4 repair options, all of which ranged from $2700-3100. There would be a two week period until the work could be done though. Parts had to be ordered. (Yeah right) For replacement though, it would only take a day. (Go figure) Long story short, I went with a neighbor's referral. He came out later that same evening. He was very knowledgeable and properly educated me on all the falsehoods and generalizations the AnyHour salesman feed me. And guess what, he brought the right $45 part. A flame sensor I believe. He actually had two parts, depending on the brand of my furnace. Aside from the time he took to explain to me what was really happening, the repair took only 5 minutes for him to perform. Oh, and the other funny part was that when he looked at my furnace, he said he didn't see any signs of the other technician doing any kind of probe or poking around. There were no scratches or finger prints left behind when there should have been. It was dusty enough in there that that any activity would've left a mark. The take away is to do your research and get multiple opinions. Look for obvious signs of a salesman.
Description of Work: I had a problem with my furnace. The technician (salesman) came out and "looked" at it for about an hour. Then gave me a run down of the my repair options. I had to schedule and wait for a supervisor visit if I wanted the replacement costs.

I recommended this company to my parents because I had them put in a couple lights in my crawl space a few years ago. Well, they started off good with a cheaper service call and quicker appointment time - but everything was downhill after they appointment began. He first told my parents that he needed to evaluate their current electrical system as a policy of his company. This, he said, is to cover their bases and protect his company. He then told my parents that their 20 yr old home had incorrect wiring in their electrical box and would all need to be redone. He said it was not up to code and could be dangerous making them feel like their house could burn down. They had a room & bathroom finished in the basement with a permit and city inspections several years ago - but he still said it was wrong. He quoted them - $4500 to replace all the wiring for the electrical box, etc. They then asked him what it would cost to just get the can light put in that they called him out to do and he said $400. They were astounded because they had someone put in 10 can lights not too long ago for $200. Well, they promptly dismissed him and called a recommended electrician. They caught him at a good time and he came right over. It was Tri-Phase Electric. He quoted them $75 for the can light and put it in directly. He also was pretty surprised by Any Hour's prices. He said to replace the electrical box stuff - they are about $700-$1000. Do not call Any Hour Services. They are running a ridiculous scare tactic, price gouging business here!!!
Description of Work: Provider was asked to come and give estimate and possibly put in one can light in a family room area. My parents did not use this provider because of price and sales tactics.

They said they to dig up the main line by hand in order to do the prepares and quoted between $5000.00 and $8000.00 to do this. I told them I would call them the next morning to schedule after I got the board's approval. My neighbor came over and asked to take a look at it for me and found that my main line did not need replaced and said it was fine. The shower line and kitchen line needed some repairs and would only cost me $400.00. My neighbor had the repairs completed within 4 hours and saved me $7600.00. I am very disgusted with Any Hour Electric Plumbing Heating & Air and how grossly over priced they were and the fact that they were trying to get me to pay for unnecessary repairs, shame on them! Thank God for good neighbors!

Response from Any Hour Electric Plumbing Heating & Air
I spoke to one of the customers in response to a concern call we received. This was before we knew there would be a review posted about our performance on this service call. By the end of our conversation she said that if problems persist she would amend or remove her review that she had already submitted to Angie's List. We had responded to a drain issue in the home which is a rental. The home is being managed by several, I believe siblings who look after the home and make decisions together so that all are in agreement before work is done to the home. Our first responder to the home identified some drain and water piping leaks under the home in the crawl space. This prompted a call to have one of our supervisors come to the home and assess further and present repair options for the customers. This call was made with their approval and the supervisor came to the home. The supervisor went under the home and took several pictures of the badly corroded and deteriorating drain and water piping and of roughting wood caused from the leaking pipes. He was then able to make the recommendations that would take care of the problems the customers had currently and also prevent future failures that are inevitable. In discussing the pricing of the options with those that were there at the time, it was mentioned that the rest of those involved had to be notified and would have to agree to the repairs needed and the cost. The supervisor came up with 2 options. One was a complete repipe of ALL DRAIN and WATER piping in the house from each fixture to the foundation of the home at a cost of $8000. The second option included a complete repipe of ALL DRAIN piping from each fixture in the house to the foundation at a cost of $6000. Because others had to be involved in the decision our supervisor agreed to come the next day with the formal presentation of the options to the others that had to agree to the work so that the decision could be made. During that time before the next appointment is when the customer's neighbor came over. In my conversation with the customer after the concern call, she mentioned that she had developed a level of trust in our supervisor and our company but she was understandably concerned at the cost difference of the repairs that the neighbor made and what we had proposed. I assured her that there had to be major differences in what was done compared to what we had proposed. She told me that he had done some work on the main, toilet and shower drain piping. That of course was not close to our complete repipe options for drain and water piping from each fixture all the way to the foundation of the home. Our complete repipe option would be fully warranted and would have been a permanent solution to the leaking and corroding drain and water piping. Our options cannot be compared to the partial repairs that were made. We always strive to clearly communicate the options to the right people when we visit a customer's home. That is why the second trip was planned - to make sure all those that needed to know, would understand the work we were proposing. Unfortunately we were not able to do that. The customers are nice folks and we hope the best for them - we look forward to helping them another time.

They are coming to do my plumbing later this month. I am very satisfied with this company. They are very good. I used the $29 tune-up. That was how I started with them so they did the AC tune-up. They were very honest with the condition of my air conditioner. I know it's old. He was surprised at how long it had been here and how good it was. He said I could just run it until it dies. He made some suggestions about things that I needed to change on the air conditioner to improve its efficiency and to make it last a little longer. The capacitor had to be changed. The capacitor was old. They were particularly reputable and I didn't feel the pressure to buy a lot of stuff from them. For electrical, they were very specific about the things that they thought absolutely needed to be done. The main issue for me was the whole house electrical safety. They have a plan that you can sign up for. There wasn't a lot of pressure to sign up. It covers an annual check-up and you can put in whatever you feel you want to have them cover. They were very competent. They put shoe covers on before they came into my house. They were just very professional. I would recommend them highly. I referred them to other friends because their service is great. They always tell you ways that you can save money. They changed a total of 5 lights for me. I think their price was fair. They come back and fix it if there's an issue. They're very careful. He explained the wiring that I bought. They are willing to explain everything. The work is quick. They can do it on the spot if you want. They do exactly what you want them to do. They tell you exactly what the price is going to be. If you do the annual maintenance thing, they give you 15% discount and they don't charge you for the service.

We will not use them again as the repair man apparently did not know what he was doing. After he hooked up the new capacitor (not knowing for sure if this needed to be replaced or not) and we paid him the $168 ($248 total minus the $80 coupon from the home show) and he left around 2:00. At 6:00 p.m. we went to turn the heat on and noticed it was not blowing any air, it was just making nose like it wanted to start but would not kick in. Also there was a terrible smell associated with the furnace. We called the main number and said something was not right, only to be told they would get someone out there between 8:00 and 10:00 p.m., which I said was not acceptable as we had babies in the house and needed the heat on. I said someone needed to come sooner as it appears the first technician did not install something right and the heat was not coming on. The clerk said she would see what they could do and called be back about 1/2 hour later to tell me someone would be there in about 1/2 hour to check what was wrong. A new technician showed up and checked the system, only to find out the first guy did not install the capacitor correctly, and he had to redo the wiring. I was furious at this time as we should not have had to call someone back out, the first guy should have known how to install it, especially since he was the one that told us we needed a new one. About an hour later it was fixed and the heat came on. The next day I called to speak to a supervisor (I think he name was Bruce) telling them I wanted my money back since the job was not done right the first time. I was told "we came out within an hour and fixed it and you were getting a good deal in the first place since you had the coupon". He kept saying we aren't making any money on this call since we had to come back out and I kept saying you shouldn't have had to come back out if your staff knew what they were doing. The management was terrible to work with, they basically said they would not do anything as in their mind they fixed it, but in my mind, they should not have had to come and fix it - it should have been installed right the first time. I will never call them again for any service.
Description of Work: We received a coupon at the south Towne Expo home show for a furnace tune up $19 compared to regular price of $99 so we decided to give Any Hour a try. They came out on 13 Feb 2015 for the tune up and informed us that we needed a capacitor as ours was going. We had them replace the capacitor and turn up the furnace and they left.

We were remodeling our basement in the middle of the summer and realized we didn't have an air return vent. We wanted to get an air vent installed as part of the remodel, but we were on a tight schedule. Because it was in the middle of the hottest part of the summer, several companies said they couldn't come out for a month or longer. Any Hour Services came within a day, they were very professional, and they charged less than the other companies quoted us. Both the tech who gave us the quote and the tech who completed the job were very professional, clean, and knowledgeable. I would definitely use this company again!

After a failed attempt at replacing switches and outlets led to some electrical issues, I called Any Hour on a Saturday afternoon. They were able to respond within two hours to troubleshoot and address the problem. It turned out to be a simple fix (an outlet controlled by a switch had a metal tab that needed to be removed in order to work) and the electrician identified and fixed the problem in a matter of seconds. I asked him to stay and finish replacing the additional outlets for me. He finished up in less than an hour and was pleasant and professional the entire time. Lesson learned - some electrical upgrades are best left to the pros, and Any Hour saved me a weekend of worrying by making themselves available quickly and on a Saturday. Great service!

Their initial estimate was $1,200, but when technician arrived he told my wife it would be more and she felt very pressured, he made her write a check when he was done. I had to fight with them to get back some of the money to make it close to original bid. Based on the work they did, other contractors said it should have been about $600 worth of work. My wife was scammed by them.

I called on Thursday to let them know my garbage disposal was not working. I had tried all the methods to get the motor to start going, but nothing worked.. I also noticed a slight drip at the bottom of the disposal under the sink. I spoke to Taylor, using the internet conversation box on their web site and we determined I needed a technician. No technician was available for Davis County until Monday, so we set up a time for Monday between 1:00 - 3:00. At 1:00 I received a call from Any Hour telling me Aaron would be at my house at 2:00 and that is when he arrived. He put on booties so as not to track dirt into the house. He assessed the problem with my disposal, and we determined the motor had seized and I needed a new piece of equipment. I was impressed that he had a variety of disposals on his truck. I picked the one I wanted installed and in a short time everything was fixed. Aaron explained to me how disposals work, the warranty on their work and other services they provide. I was impressed with his cleanliness, service and his courtesy. I will definitely call Any Hour again, should I have a plumbing need.
