The tune up and performance check were great. Robin, the serviceman, requested that I be with him during the entire service call (almost 2 hours), and he explained everything he did and showed me all the instrument readings. He even took photos with his personal smart phone inside my furnace and air conditioner. He found dust build up inside the air conditioner on the fan blades that he said should be cleaned in the near future. He quoted a price for that service, and I declined. But, he emailed me a copy of his photo that showed dust buildup. My only complaint is this: He measured the furnace capacitor and found it out of spec. He showed me the printed spec, the meter reading, his calculator results that showed it was not within the 7% spec, and the printed price in his quote book for the cost of replacing the part (which he had in his truck). All that seemed fine and professional. But, the price seemed very high, $266. The tune up cost was $99, less $50 for a discount coupon I had. But, that ran my total bill to $315. He also informed me about their annual Comfort Assurance Plan, but all he did was make a brief 2-3 sentence sales pitch and leave me a brochure. There was no pushy pressure to sign up.
Description of Work: Air conditioning tune up and performance check. Replaced furnace capacitor.

the company put the camera in the sewer line and said that we had a broken sewer pipe between the sidewalk and the city main. We called to see if we could get a dvd copy of the breakage, he said he did not have one. He did say that he would come out a rescope it if we wanted him to. In the mean time we called a few friends that new plumbers. A couple of them said to get it rescoped, So I called another company. They can and rescoped the line and could not find a thing wrong. No tree roots, no breakage, not a thing in the sewer lines clear out to the city main. I am glad we paid the 250.00 to have it rescoped. They saved us a lot of money.

The 'tune-up' was actually a diagnostic. No parts were cleaned or replaced. When I get my car tuned up, I get new spark plugs, wires, etc. Nothing here. I'm not sure if this is on par with other companies or not. The service tech, Colter, was very personable and professional, but he didn't have much in the way of answers for how much repairs would cost or how much replacement would cost, yet he wanted me to sign up for the 'service club' (like ESCO and Whipple both offer as well) to pre-pay for preventive maintenance (just more diagnostic work, I'm sure) so more people from the company can come to my house throughout the year to look at my plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc. to a: inform me of what's wearing out so I can be forewarned of what's going to need repair or replacement or b: come find things to say are going wrong with my household systems to try to sell me on repairs and replacements - depending on point of view. Bottom Line: Friendly service, but less work was done than I had expected.

Any Hour is way too expensive!!! Because I had more apartments to do, I finally got two other bids on the exact same procedure and one was half the price (Black Diamond Electric) and the other bid was a third the price (Bright Solutions). Hire these people instead, and save a lot of money. Any Hour folks are nice people, and do quality work, but you pay dearly for it ... And frankly, it's a waste of your money! You'll get licensed, experienced contractors that do quality work with these other people, and not waste your hard earned money. But wait ... there's more that you need to know about. You won't get the entire truth if you just listen to the Any Hour sales pitch. Let me give you some examples: They gave me the choice of a Basic, Deluxe or a Premier package, and attached a 1 yr., 5 yr. or 10 yr warranty. And they said they are either "new breakers", "Good Materials" or "Best Materials." Turns out that the Electric Supply Store told me that all parts have the same warranty, and they all meet the same standards. So the "New", "Good", and "Best" materials is not 100% truthful. There is only ONE residential grade of breaker and panel. Any Hour said they feel certain breakers are better than others. But the cheapest bid I got said they would use Square D brand, and Any Hour rated that brand a good quality. So all warranty is through your contractor, not the parts manufacturer. And the technician said to me how the good ones I paid for "really snap in well." Truth is that they all snap in. The technician told me at least twice that their company does price matching and that they are "average priced". This is misleading. They are not "middle priced" among all electrical contractors like you would think that comment means. They are only average priced with the big companies that rip you off, or "middle priced" among the most expensive companies. But they are way more expensive than many, reputable, licensed electricians. They are not average priced among all electrical contractors which is the impression I received. I asked them to please give me an average price like they promised, but they would not budge. I even sent them the other two bids that I got because they asked for them, and after looking at these other bids (which were pricing the same exact work for 1/2 the price or less than Any Hour) still they would not drop the price one dime. I feel like I've just become a victim of price gouging. They replaced the panel without pulling a permit from the city which is against code. They disconnected the meter without contacting Rocky Mountain Power which is also not right. Finally, in an attempt to make me a satisfied customer, they came back to the job, and moved the breaker panel to a better location (which was another problem, but one which they resolved). I appreciated that, but the price of $3879 which I had to pay Any Hour was well over twice as much as the company I have had come do the work on the other apartments (and they did a good quality job too). The moral of the story is don't get in a hurry to get the job done. Use Angieslist.com and always get more than one bid. Otherwise you might make the same mistake I did, and trust the first company that you talk to.
Description of Work: I had them replace the old breaker panel, install a panel surge protector, run a new circuit to the fridge and one to the bathroom, and install a new wire and box for a light in the living room.

It went very well. I was not shocked at the price, he explained everything to me in great detail.
Description of Work: I had an appointment in November to tune up my furnace but it's cold so as it's only two years old I turned it on and did not like the way it was acting. I called Any Hour back and asked them to come out on Monday the 22nd and they did, found the problem, tuned up the furnace, gave me a free tune up and a discount on the service call and Dustin V. was an excellent representative of the company! He was personable, intelligent and was spot on in his diagnosis based on listening to me describe what I had heard. He showed me every step, the way the furnace had a light for codes and what those codes meant and the price was fixed and he showed me that too! I would definitely use them again and have set my mom up with them for a furnace tune up!

t was late at night, Thanksgiving weekend. A tenant in my rental house called me stating that a light fixture was arching and humming, even when the breaker was off. We were working with the tenant over the phone but out of town. We missed their second call and the tenant immediately called ANY HOUR. The technician was diligent in showing up late and I have no issue with his $200.00 charge to come out on Thanksgiving weekend. Luckily we got back to the tenant while he was there and told him NOT to fix things. Just to make them safe. He then charged me $99 to take down the light fixture, and another $99 to tighten a screw in the panel! He also scared my tenant to death with trumped up "issues" with my breaker panel. I called my trusted electrician the following Monday. He came out, checked on everything and said that although what the technician told the tenant was technically right, it had nothing to do with any safety issue and was misleading. There was a burnt mark on the back of the breaker panel that had happened at some point in the past when an electrician accidently touched a wire that is always live. It was NOT an issue with the light that was shourting out. The breakers had been replaced over time. Code now says that breakers should always be the same. My electrician said that the panel was sound, but he would replace the breakers to make it up to code. The "bid" from Any Hour was between $1040 for the more "basic" NEW panel to $1495 for the "premier" panel. Clearly, if I wouldn't have gotten back to him that evening, one of those new panels that I didn't need would be in the rental house, now! My electrician fixed everything for $300. I threw away $400 on Any Hour. When I tried to call them and discuss the bill, they were rude and told us that was the charge. Clearly, they overcharge people when services are needed after hours and they can get away with it. BEWARE! I threw $400 away. There must be more honest people out there to work with!
Description of Work: Removed light fixture that was shorting out and tightened screw in breaker panel.

Response from Any Hour Electric Plumbing Heating & Air
From the Owner: I am sorry you feel you were dealt with unfairly. Although I have not had luck getting a hold of you directly these past few months, I was able to get a hold of the tenant closer to the time of service and he was actually quite happy with the service and assessment that was performed. Our technicians are fully licensed and trained twice weekly to ensure that we are always up to date with the latest codes and safety issues. We take any code violations very seriously in our line of work and feel it our job to point out anything that is done illegally or not up to code. Regarding any rudeness with customer service, I am quite surprised and do apologize this was the impression we gave you, and would be glad to address this and any other concerns with you directly.

I called Any Hour because they were ranked decently on Angie's List and they were close to home. I was happy with the initial contact. The woman I spoke with was articulate, explained in detail what I should expect from the technician who would be coming to my home, and promised me that they would give me a fixed price before doing any work. The technician arrived at the appointed time, was friendly and seemed knowledgable. He proceeded to look around at my electrical problem and then gave me my supposed fixed price. I was uncomfortable with their pricing system. It isn't a fixed price. The technician explained that he would "diagnose" the problem for $385 and that he could "most likely" fix the problem during the diagnostic. When I pressed him for information on "most likely", he explained that 80% of the time he fixed the problem for the "fixed price", but if it required work beyond an ambiguous point, he would need to charge more money. He couldn't tell me how much more money he would charge or at what point he would need to start charging it. I asked him for an hourly rate and he said that was not how they priced their services. I asked him to give me an hourly rate after a specified time spent on fixing the problem. He coudn't do that either. If this sounds confusing, it is. He wanted $385 to "probably fix" my problem. I was very uncomfortable that at some undefined point, he was going to start charging an unspecified amount of money. I understand professional fees and I am okay with paying a fair price for professional work. I am not okay with a pricing scheme that promises a fixed price but includes a caveat that the fixed price only applies to 80% of jobs and won't specify what and how additional charges will be applied. I felt like I was signing up for a sucker punch. I paid the $38 "dispatch" fee and sent him on his way. I felt this was the ultimate in bait and switch tactics. After my experience, I called Any Hour and spoke with the nice woman on the phone. I explained that I felt their pricing scheme was less than honest and that her initial promise of a "fixed price" was incorrect. I wouldn't have set up the appointment if I knew how they actually priced their services. She told me she would have someone get back to me. I haven't heard back from them. I called Talley's Electrical (highly rated on this site) and Mr. Talley came to my home, fixed my problem in about an hour and a half (we chatted for part of the time), charged me $106 and went on his way. I was happy to pay his fees because he was completely upfront about how he priced his services and he really knew his stuff.
Description of Work: I bought a home and shortly after moving in an entire circuit of lights stopped working. Any Hour came in, looked at the wiring, looked inside a couple of boxes, examined my breaker box, told me I needed a bunch of stuff I didn't need. Spent more time trying to sell me their services than the guy who actually fixed my problem spent on doing the work.

AnyHour was prompt and gave very clear explanation of what work woud be performed and how much it would cost. I was pleased overall with the quality of the work. There was a bit of excess damage to an interior wall to replace the drain pipe after cutting a rather large access hole through the garage. They were reasonable to deal with and provided a few options to remedy the situation. I would use anyhour again.
Description of Work: AnyHour moved a cable outlet and added a new jack as well as relocating an in-ceiling light fixture. They also relaced a drain pipe in a wall that was leaking.

i needed an electrician and a plumber, so i decided to call one company that could take care of both. i was able to get them out quickly even though i was not a previous customer and i didn't have any serious issues. he arrived right on time and, to my surprise, was extremely clean and professional looking. i have never had a plumber that didn't look like a plumber before! he got right to work on fixing our problems. he found that our water heater was leaking and fixed that too. i know there are companies that try to say you have more things wrong just to get more $$$, but this really was a problem. we had been getting really high water bills and couldn't figure out why. after he left i realized my water pressure was very low. i called the next morning and he came right out to fix it. he was very apologetic and solved the problem quickly. now i have better water pressure than i did before he came the first time.

I had previously used Any Hour Electric and was very happy with them, so when I needed a plumber, I contacted Any Hour Plumbing. They sent out a "plumber" who walked in the front door and asked me what the problem was and barely looked at the toilets with problems. I told him that suddenly two of my toilets would not flush for totally different reasons. On one toilet, the bowl would not completely empty unless you held down the handle, and the other one just would not flush suddenly. He immediately opened his book and began quoting me prices on new toilets because he said that I needed to replace both toilets just b/c my house is about 30 years old and toilets "just don't last". My toilets still look great - like new with no cracks or any leaking. I questioned him about the need for this, but the guy would not even consider replacing the parts in the tank. Finally, he said he would replace the parts in one toilet for a cost of $266, but the other one HAD to be replaced with a newer toilet at a cost of $350 to $550. He basically came in the door already prepared to try to sell me new toilets. He also was rude to my neighbor who asked him a legitimate question and he responded saying "Who are you? I am talking to her (meaning me)" I paid him his $38 trip fee and sent him on his way without letting him do anything. The next day, I called another plumbing company on your list and the guy came out promptly and told me that I certainly do NOT need new toilets. He replaced parts in both tanks and the total cost for both was $119 and everything is working great. Needless to say, I will not use Any Hour again and was shocked over what happened. I tried to contact the service manager at Any Hour, but he was unavailable and never called me back that day or the next.
Description of Work: INO work was done. I paid him the trip charge and sent him on his way b/c he tried to sell me services that I did not feel I needed.

I am going to sit down with the tech and do some more customer service training. I am very sorry about your last experience with us, but am glad to hear the first one was a good one. I would love to have another shot at your business. Please call us back for any future repairs or projects you might have and I will send one of my techs out for free and give you a "I am sorry discount". Thanks Owner

From start to finish, the level of service and professionalism was outstanding. I called after getting a Val-Pac coupon in the mail. The receptionist promptly answered, was enthusiastic, friendly, and eager to help. She asked for coupon codes and told me how to save more by scheduling an earlier appointment. There was a prompt follow up email outlining the appointment time and thanking me for my business. It contained a free home electrical inspection worth $79 as a token of appreciation. The dispatcher called me 15 minutes before the technician's arrival, and he was here exactly when they said he would be. The technician, Troy, was clean cut, extremely courteous, very thorough in his explanations, wore booties, and took as much time as I needed to answer my questions. To fix my circuit problem would have required putting in a 20 amp dedicated circuit to power the heater, requiring either 1) opening the walls from the bathroom to the circuit breaker and putting in a larger guage wire to accomadate the higher current, or 2) running a new circuit from the outside meter box in a conduit to the bathroom. I choose to do neither as the costs and construction issues outweighed the benefits of having a bathroom heater. He told me I could either unplug the heater within the unit or just use it in isolation without having all the lights on. So, I didn't get the problem fixed, but his thorough explanation made me understand what my options were, and I was satisfied with that. He allowed my to watch him work and didn't seem to mind. While he was here he discussed the benefits of a home surge protector, so I had one installed in my breaker box and he explained how it worked. I took photographs of the installation before he put the cover back on. The fee for working on one circuit was $197. The dispatch fee was $38. I had a $20 off coupon. The surge protector with installation was $268 minus a $71 monthly special discount. It was relatively expensive, but I believe I received value for the cost because of the technician's excellent communication and thoroughness. I have done electrical work (rewired a kitchen, installed junction boxes, recessed lights, and have a variety of electrical books and meters). In my opinion he knew exactly what he was doing.
Description of Work: Inspected and diagnosed a bathroom ventillation fan/heater/lamp that was causing lights to dim when used. The unit was evidently installed by the previous owner, drawing too much amperage from the existing 15 amp circuit breaker (overloading it). Installed a home surge protector in the circuit breaker box.

They were quite helpful and provided a good service. They also assisted me with rebate information as well. The overall experience was quite positive. I had been a bit impatience when the bad switch required repeat visits but their customer service rep contacted me, discussed the situation and offered a free annual maintenance agreement as a consolation. I really operated that.
Description of Work: I hired them most recently to fix an attic fan. It took them three trips to find that the switch was bad and they took care of it. They also recently installed a new furnace, water heater and coils for the air conditioner.

I was doing some DYI remodeling and came across a situation I wasn't comfortable continuing... I called and they scheduled an appointment... which was within hours of my call... The person on the phone told me how much the service call would be and that the technician would have a price list for the other services, not by the hour, and that he would spend as much time as I wanted to over any and all issues I might have... The technician was on time, very polite, pleasant, and pofessional... answered all my questions, even about why one light fixture in my home goes through more light bulbs than others... and how to fix if I felt I was "handyman" enough to do it... He showed me the pricing and I identified what I would be charged for him completed everything I asked... and let me know before hand if it would change the price because I was adding different switch or box... Would recommend them in a heartbeat, and wish all service people were as easy to deal with.
