Description of Work: I installed the link interactive system as an alternative to comcast home security, which does not monitor fire and was basically useless with our dog triggering the motion sensors. I configured my link system to include glass break detectors for when the dog is home and then motion sensors for when the house is empty. We also have the door sensors and smoke/fire detectors. I think it cost around $125 for all the equipment, and it's $35/month for monitoring. I'm happy with the system. It came programmed, so you just have to mount the hardware, which was not difficult. I've called and emailed customer service with requests and they get right back to you. The only con I have found is that you cannot program the system to arm and disarm at a particular time every day. (I believe we could do this with Comcast, but I can't remember.) I was hoping to have it automatically disarm early in the morning so we don't have to remember to shut it off before letting the dog out, but this isn't an option. As an alternative I added a delay on the dog's door so that when we open it in the morning (haven forgotten to turn off the alarm) it won't wake the whole house and call the central station. Other than the lack of programming options, it seems to be a good system and a good value for what you pay.

Description of Work: They pre-configured and shipped a new security panel and smoke detectors. They then assisted with integrating existing door and window sensors. They were very helpful and responsive. Set up was flawless.

Description of Work: We set our alarm and was on our way out for the evening when my cell phone rang less than 5 minutes after we left and it was Link Security. When we set the alarm it was in the away mode and that activated the total alarm system including indoor motion sensors. Our dog move about soon after we left and triggered one of the alarms. Link called the contact phone numbers ASAP before calling the local police. Once it was determined what had happened we were able to reset the alarm to disarm the indoor motion sensors. The fact they called right away, before alerting the local police, saved us from paying a "false alarm" fee.

Description of Work: Provided technical and customer service back-up to the 2-GIG security system I purchased through Cosco. I installed the system that included more than the usual number of sensors myself. Link's service department was only a phone call away but I needed to call them only once for a problem they quickly resolved. They provide monthly remote station monitoring for my home as well. I've used Link for longer than 2 or 3 years. Outstanding overall service and interface with Costco. I highly recommend Link Security to the average residential homeowner.

Description of Work: I purchased this system through Costco. Link Home Security set everything up and shipped it for me to install. The instructions were very clear; the installation was easy. I used their customer support for some questions on the equipment, the service contract and recently to change my credit card information. Each customer service representative I talked to was knowledgeable, articulate and could answer my questions. They were proactive and called me when their monitoring showed that my equipment was not connecting perfectly to their monitoring service. They had me make a minor adjustment to the antenna and the system has been working very consistently since. I would use them again and have already recommended them to others.

Description of Work: When ordering the alarm system, everyone at Link was very friendly and helpful. They answered all of my questions that I had regarding what I needed to order for my home. The system was easy to setup and has been very easy to use. We haven't had an alarm go off yet, and hopefully we never will, but it offers great peace of mind when we aren't home.

Description of Work: We solicited quotes for installation and monitoring of a security system from each of the highly rated local vendors. The local vendors ranged from prompt professionals to creepy car salesmen with one thing in common: extremely high estimates for installation and equipment (in the neighborhood of $2,000 to $3,000 with all sorts of optional nickel and diming on top of that) and 2-3 years of mandatory monitoring fees of $50+ per month. | |I googled the equipment brand offered by one of the local vendors and found that Link Home Security offered the exact same equipment at a fraction of the cost if I installed it myself AND had much cheaper monitoring fees. They were also much cheaper than other self-install systems we looked at (like FrontPoint, etc.). Since installation didn't seem too difficult, I decided to save ourselves a couple thousand bucks and go with Link. I placed the order and received my complete security system in the mail the next day; already an improvement over the local vendors who had lead times of several days to several weeks. Once we set to work installing it, we had a couple of questions and were pleasantly surprised to find that Link staff not only answer the phone personally, but quickly and knowledgeably as well. We were up and running securely in no time flat with an awesome security system. We have since added a few sensors to the original package, with no issues, and love the fact that we can monitor our system when we're away. Added bonus: the stickers and yard signs are pretty nice looking. | |We chose Link Home Security to save money and got far more than we bargained for in terms of customer service. I can't recommend them highly enough.
