No response from Dr Sprinkler; not even a courtesy call to say they couldn’t take the job.

Ken was very responsive. I called on Saturday and he was here by Wednesday. He and his helper arrived on time, completed the repair, and were finished in a little over an hour. He called me at work to inform me how long the repair would take, I drove home and met with him while he was cleaning up, he answered all my questions and provided some excellent advice. Ken is very professional, courteous, and pleasure to work with.

They did a great job.

I had two calls from Dr. sprinkler. It appears that this is some type of association of contractors as opposed to being a single company. My first call back was from Josh who basically told me that he didn't want the job. He just told me there would be a $600 minimum to come out ad that he'd had bad experiences on water main leaks in the past. Based on this response, I'd written off Dr. Sprinkler for good. Then JD called. He was very confident that he could fix the leak and asked if I needed anything else. I told him that I'd really like to move my sprinkler off culinary water and on to secondary. He said he'd take care of it. The leak was fixed next day. Sprinkler was connected to secondary two days later. Cleanup was excellent. If you call Dr Sprinkler, ask for JD!

I called around in the morning trying to find someone that could help me with a low pressure sprinkler line. I knew the valve was having issues and that was part of the problem. I could not fine replacement parts for my valves so I needed to replace the valves. JD called back saying he had a last-minute opening this afternoon and I took it. He arrived promptly. I explained what I knew and I left for a meeting. He replaced all four valves, did troubleshooting on the problem line, and replaced some nozzles to better match the area being covered. It was a very hot day today but he got right to work. He cleaned up the area where he dug. He was very knowledgeable and courteous. I recommend this company and will call Dr. Sprinkler Repair the next time I need any help.

They were supposed to adjust and check the entire sprinkling systems in my two homes. After two weeks some heads were broken and needed adjusting, since several areas were showing dry spots where the sprinklers were not hitting. Also, one area that needed specific adjustment that I spent time showing them was never fixed. I called them three times - but, no answer so I left messages each time, and emailed them once. I messaged them that I needed their help fixing the systems, but never received a responding call. Gave up on them and went to someone else.

Josh Harris made an appointment for 7 a.m. to come out and look at our sprinkler system, which would not run at all after construction of a new patio on the side of our house. The general contractor (Topp Construction) dug up the original connections, and thought they had reconnected everything, but the sprinkler system didn't work. Josh didn't show up until 7:30, and spent the next 2.5 hours trying to figure out what was going on with the system. He replaced the battery in the sprinkler programmer, and programmed a test run to find out which of the nine areas was not working. He had some trouble sensing when an area started, so I had to stay in the yard while he walked around. He opened all of the water connection boxes to make sure they were all on, and came to the conclusion that the contractor had cut the wire someplace near the new patio, disabling four areas. He dug up stones and dirt trying to find the wires, and offered two solutions after he failed to locate the wire. 1) buy a new wire, which was rather expensive, and would take more time, or buy a new battery operated system for the disconnected areas. I agreed it would be easier and faster for him to just install a new system for the four areas and he left about 11a.m. to go shopping for the parts. He called about noon to explain that if he replaced the AC system with a DC system, he also had to change the solenoids, which cost $25 each. The cost of the new system plus installing solenoids would be more than replacing the wire! So he agreed that rewiring would be more cost effective. He was back by 1, digging up more stone and replacing the wire connections. Along the way, he did find the original wire, but continued to install the new one. I asked that he run the new wire next to the new patio on the wall, just under the brick so that the wire wouldn't show. That didn't happen...he ran the wire on the brick wall! Listening??!! We also agreed on placement of new sprinkler heads adjacent to the new patio for planned shrubs I had to leave about 3:15 for an hour and asked how he was doing. He said he was almost finished, and then showed me where a hose had been disconnected and buried in the lawn with no cap...water just running into the soil. Another Topp Construction error. He capped that hose, and said he was just about finished. When I returned an hour later, Josh was gone, leaving behind his invoice for 8 hours work @ $50/hr, and charges for "service fee' (Travel) and parts ($87.97). He also left mud on the driveway, mud on the new patio, mud all over the lawn, and failed to replace the tops of the water connection box, or replace the stones he had dug up. Didn't get the original copy of the invoice, just a barely legible copy, with a note asking that I mail the check within the week. He also left a message on my home phone reiterating the need to send the check since he had to pay for parts out of pocket. I've waited to see if the system works...but in the past two days nothing is coming on. As Jason explained it, it's suppose to come on every other day for six minutes in each area, once at 1 a.m., and again at 5 a.m. I've called, left a message, and will hold my payment until the system works. While Jason had a pleasing attitude, and worked to fix the problems, he was less than professional in cleaning up after himself, and did not assure that the system works as he described. He apparently left in a hurry, calculating his 'labor" to include a two hour period when he was 'shopping.' Guess I should have kept an eye on him for the entire day, so beware!

He called right away but didn't do the work

The service visit went very well. Paul was able to schedule an appointment within the week. He was punctual, professional and took the time to explain what he was doing and what he recommended. He was very thorough, checking all the zones, adjusting and replacing the heads as necessary. He also discovered leak in one of the valve boxes that was easy to correct. Where he did replace the heads, he cleaned up the area well. For the length of time and amount of work, his price was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend this company for sprinkler system repair and maintenance.
